Just rang my car insurance and he said there aren't any restrictions. So long as I feel well enough to drive I am covered x

Babynum2 · 06/01/2019 14:09

Iv just poped into savers on my lunch break to buy some cleaning bits going to have a good old run around in the house while i still can! They had some good litte baby bits in there also that I picked up just things I forgot about like milk divider pot and bottle cleaning brush! Unfortunately cannot breast feed as much as i wish i could Sad

AliceRR · 06/01/2019 14:29

I’m 35 w today and haven’t packed my bag yet either! Think I pretty much have everything now but still need to wash clothes and actually pack...

BeverlyZimek · 06/01/2019 14:30

I only backed my bag once I found out I was being induced in a week 😂

Celebelly · 06/01/2019 14:32

Both mine and baby's bag packed. I just need to add snacks to replace the ones I've eaten Blush

BeverlyZimek · 06/01/2019 14:33

Also I have finally picked out their names! My girls will be called Abigail Beverly and Celeste Christine. I knew for ages their middle names would be Beverly and Christine after my mum and I but the first names were so hard to choose 😩 funny enough Celeste wasn’t even on my list but I heard it and instantly feel in love with it ❤️

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 06/01/2019 14:37

I've packed a small emergency bag incase home birth doesn't work out or she's early.

Admittedly it's got a lot less in than last time as half the stuff they told us to take we didn't even bloody use.

Yakadee · 06/01/2019 14:50

@Celebelly - you crack me up!

@BeverlyZimek - so nice when you settle on names. We have now too, certainly feels really calling her by her name x

Notquiteagandt · 06/01/2019 14:56

@BeverlyZimek Celeste was one of my top names. I love it. Still debating it as a 3rd name. How exciting in a few days you will be a mummy.

Has anyone seen any button down nighties that dont look like something my grandma would wear. Thinking easy boob access and skin to skin. I am struggling though to fine any.

Celebelly · 06/01/2019 15:01

I got a couple of cheap nighties for giving birth in from Happy Mama (they have a bit you can unfasten at the front for breastfeeding/skin to skin) but for afterwards I've got some nice pairs of button-up-front flannel pyjamas as I don't really like wearing nighties in general. The nighties I've got were cheap enough that I'll probably just chuck them away if they get all gross.

welshweasel · 06/01/2019 15:06

I got some nighties from bon prix

Lookingforadvice123 · 06/01/2019 15:22

I still haven't thought about my bag either, other than my trusty list. I need to buy half the stuff for it! I'm 33+4...will just do it around 35-36 weeks I think. I hope I'm not tempting fate.

Is anyone else a little bit in denial about how soon their due date is? This pregnancy has gone so fast and where with DS I was super anxious/keen to meet him, with this little guy as excited as I am to meet him, I know it's going to be weeks of tough times/chaos and so I'm certainly not wishing the time away. Anyone else? Feel like I'm on my own a bit in feeling this way...

lanalawr DH is also on a mission to decorate DS' new room! He's painted everything except the skirtings which will be done in the week, then next weekend he's wallpapering the one feature wall. All ready for the new carpet to be fitted which is booked a week tomorrow!

Celebelly · 06/01/2019 15:23

Aldi has a baby and toddler sale starting online today and in stores on the 10th. Just bought some bits and pieces!

Lookingforadvice123 · 06/01/2019 15:24

Since2016 sorry about DD's croup, love her. It's so scary isn't it. Has she had it before? If it's any consolation DS appeared to have it back in April last year and it went as quickly as it came. I made DH ring 999 as I was petrified when he was struggling to breath in the middle of the night!

Yakadee · 06/01/2019 15:56

Just seen this bag pop up on Facebook if anyone is interested. I don't have it or anything but the comments looked good x

Since2016 · 06/01/2019 16:16

@lookingforadvice123 nope me too. Not bought anything for it, nor nappies etc. I feel like I have plenty of time and certainly going to enjoy these last few weeks!!

Sadly she has - bronchiolitis, croup, the works. Her wheezing has gotten worse this pm despite the inhaler so just keeping an eye. She battles respiratory infections during the winter so badly it’s awful poor thing. Only thing she ever gets!!

Babynum2 · 06/01/2019 16:20

@thesnobbymiddleclassedone Have you got a birth plan for your home birth? Iv always wanted one but seems pointless when I live nextdoor the hospital. Is anyone having (hopefully) to have a water birth? I really wanted one last time but they wouldnt let me as i was 37weeks exactly they wanted to be on safe side as my growth scans came back really small but she actually ended up being 7.2lb which is pretty average I hope I can have one this time fingers crossed

lanalawr · 06/01/2019 16:27

@Since2016 yes it was me looking at dolls. I'm thinking about a baby born because you can feed it, it weed, etc. I'd like one to match the gender of this baby I think and it seems harder to find anatomically correct boy dolls (if we end up having a boy).

@Thesnobbymiddleclassone I'll definitely be packing lighter this time too! We had enough food to feed the entire hospital - especially after being told we'd probably be there for days with me in labour and dh wouldn't be fed (he gets hangry easily). Half an hour I was there in labour and home in less than 24. If he's hungry this time he can go to the shop!

@Lookingforadvice123 your dh sounds much more prepared! Dh will hopefully finish the painting tomorrow and maybe the gloss. We've bought a wardrobe to put up when he's finished but will have to sort the carpet out later I think.

lanalawr · 06/01/2019 16:30

@Since2016 that sounds really tough for her poor little thing.

@Babynum2 I'm hoping for another waterbirth but holding out a bit at the moment on hoping too hard. I'm measuring big so probably going to be referred for growth scan next week and repeat GTT. I've got a horrible feeling they're going to want to intervene somehow - will just have to wait and see though.

Lookingforadvice123 · 06/01/2019 16:40

Oh no Since2016. Do you think she might have asthma? Poor little thing. Wishing her better xx

Since2016 · 06/01/2019 17:01

@lookingforadvice123 almost defintely. She’s under a paed and an asthma cns and has daily steroid and inhaler anyway, it just goes straight to her chest each time. I have asthma and a family history of it so that combined with her breathing probs at birth... just rough on her and me at the moment as it means sleepless nights!! She Was given another steroid in a&e that I hoped would prevent it getting worse but she’s worse tonight already 😣

babyp160 · 06/01/2019 17:53

Place marking

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 06/01/2019 18:09

@babynum2 not really.

I didn't have one with DD and nothing went wrong. No induction, no tearing and no pain relief that can't be had at home so going to hospital seemed so silly and a waste of a bed this time.

The only thing I've stated is that if anything happens we go straight to hospital. It isn't far so if something does go wrong, we can just go.
