7 weeks and 3 days to go! Also suffering terrible heartburn, and strong braxton hicks! Feeling very heavy and tired now. Roll on our babies being here Grin

welshweasel · 06/01/2019 08:36

@maxiflump1 I get those lumps - weirdly they never coincide with where the hugest bruises are!

Babynum2 · 06/01/2019 08:45

So i just got to work and iv got more clear but jelly like dishcharge and theres pin pricks of red blood in it. I think this is definitely my plug coming out slowly!

emalady · 06/01/2019 09:04

Place marking so I don't forget it's a new thread. Come away for the night with DH as a babymoon. Lovely to get away from all of the jobs at home.

Yakadee · 06/01/2019 09:08

Morning all! 36 weeks today 🎉🎉🎉

Those just injections sound grim - I'll have to do them once baby is here and remember not loving them from first time round!

@Babynum2 - I've heard you can lose it well before labour (and it can grow back!) so would keep an eye but probably nothing to worry about for now.

Finally getting there with baby's room - doesn't sound like much but we've had a bit switch of rooms and new wardrobes etc so has felt like a right upheaval! Sounds be sorted this week now.
Bags are packed now too so that makes me feel better. Roll on 3 weeks (and 2 days) so I can meet this little beauty! Xxx

welshweasel · 06/01/2019 09:19

I packed my bag yesterday, starting to feel the fear now!

Yakadee · 06/01/2019 10:18

Random one, I know you're not supposed to drive after having a section for 6 weeks, however is this a recommendation or is it illegal (like you wouldn't be insured etc) I was just thinking about it and thought I'd have a Google and couldn't find anything that specifically said you wouldn't be covered, all it said was that you'd need to consult a doctor.

Anyone know? Xx

mary99220 · 06/01/2019 10:33

Hello!Place marking,34 weeks + 3 days so no long to go!!
I packed my hospital bag at 32 weeks and yesterday and I was repacking it as I felt that it's going to happen soon and I need make sure that I've got everything in there! I'm still missing some snacks GrinGrin
Have your bellies dropped yet?My one is still quite higher up but I feel a lot of pressure from baby's head! She is definitely ready to come!Smile

welshweasel · 06/01/2019 10:35

@yakadee the 6 week thing is a total myth! You can drive when you’re able to sit pain free in the car, with a seatbelt on and do an emergency stop. I was driving at 2 weeks last time when my DH went back to work. You don’t need to consult a doctor either.

Since2016 · 06/01/2019 10:38

@yakadee I’d check with your insurance. Mine said I needed sign off from a GP. GP said if I was happy to drive then fine - I drove at 3 weeks PP last time but it’s orobsbly more to do with when you’re comfortable carrying the car seat etc... Personally, I’d rather ensure my insurance covered me before driving.

Yakadee · 06/01/2019 10:40

@mary99220 - mine hasn't yet but got a lot of lightening crotch going on so not sure where she is lol.

@welshweasel - when I went for my consultant appointment on Fri she said I couldn't drive for 6 weeks, very matter of fact but nothing more, just moved on.

It was only when I was talking to hubby about it all that I wondered as he's only taking 3 weeks off. Think it'll be a long 3 weeks in on my own! Of course I wouldn't drive if I wasn't fit as wouldn't want to put anyone (especially my kids) at risk but man - 3 weeks lol x

Since2016 · 06/01/2019 10:44

And I’ve still not packed my bag... 😂

Still working my way through the baby clothes. Have now ironed 0-3, 3-6, and some of 6-9. Still need to locate the rest of them though.

Am exhausted. Spent the night in A&E with DD who has croup. Up every 2 hours last night. Fx for this baby not being riddled with health issues!!

welshweasel · 06/01/2019 10:45

@yakadee honestly, they shouldn’t say that. I’m a surgeon and am very well acquainted with post surgery regulations! There are a few insurance companies who if you ring them will ask you to get medical sign off but that’s just to cover themselves.

welshweasel · 06/01/2019 10:47

Some obstetricians and midwives also perpetuate the 6 week myth as a way to try and put people off having a section!

Yakadee · 06/01/2019 10:55

@Since2016 - poor baby! I bet you're all shattered - hope she's on the mend soon x

@welshweasel - she was booking mine in so not sure whether that's what she was going for? Assuming I am fit during that 6 week period, should I ask my insurance company just to confirm or would you bother? Xx

Alicejj8x · 06/01/2019 11:03

Place making :)

Thanks for all the lovely comments about my grandad :)
He's still not wanting to see anyone ( apart from my dad & my uncle - his other son) I think he's a very proud man and wouldn't want any of the grand children to see him like this- bless his heart.

Can't believe we're on a new thread :)

LookingAtTheStars89 · 06/01/2019 11:05

@sickmumma. His name is Teddy 😊

LookingAtTheStars89 · 06/01/2019 11:06

@maxiflump1 I have been injecting for months but since Teddy vacated I've started lumping up! No idea why now 🤔

Since2016 · 06/01/2019 11:35

@lookingatthestars89 hope you’re on the mend soon. A baby in SCBU/NICU is just the worst. DD was in NICU for a week when she was born and it destroyed me. Sending hugs xx

powkin · 06/01/2019 12:01

@Yakadee I’m pretty sure they said in my antenatal class that you are not insured so I’d definitely check your fine print!

powkin · 06/01/2019 12:04

Ah seems I’m wrong!

lanalawr · 06/01/2019 12:28

@Yakadee I believe it's to do with safely being able to do an emergency stop. It's probably worth checking with your insurance company (policies can vary slightly between companies). It's the same with other surgeries too but I know with those it's the safety aspect.

@Since2016 I'm sorry to hear about the croup. How is she feeling today?

Another one here who hasn't packed yet. 35+2 today and nothing is washed or ready. Dh is still painting dd's room. Hopefully her wardrobe will be bought and built this week then I can free up space elsewhere for the baby's clothes so I can get on with washing.

Since2016 · 06/01/2019 12:49

@lanalawr thanks - much better today. DH has taken her out for a bit to give me a rest. I’m rattling around not quite sure what to do with myself... haha I’ve had to reorganise everything to fit baby’s clothes as we’re putting our house on the market in March and baby will be in our room till we move. DD v interested in the baby clothes so have had to donate some to her dolls.

Was it you that was looking at dolls? I’ve not done any further looking but defintely want a new one for her from the baby with accessories etc, nursery has one that wees which goes down v well...

Plenty of time still I’m only 34+2! Lots of other projects to finish before she arrives!!

MrsY87 · 06/01/2019 13:12

Place marking! 34+2 today so around 3w to go for me til induction/c-section if they don't come before! I really should finish packing my bag properly Incase they do come early!I've got feet in my ribs and a head low down in my pelvis so generally pretty uncomfortable now and getting a lot of lightening crotch!

@Yakadee when I had a CS with my DD my mw said it was fine to drive as long as the insurance co were ok with it, insurance co said it was fine as long as my mw/dr said it was ok...I drove after about 2.5weeks.

Yakadee · 06/01/2019 13:51

@LookingAtTheStars89 - aww, I love that! How sweet 😍

Thanks everyone, I think I'll just check with my insurance to be on the safe side xx
