I wonder if 'nesting' is kicking in! Had an itch to have a sort out in the kitchen, glad I did but knackered now! X

Celebelly · 22/01/2019 17:11

Having a lot of Braxton Hicks today as well as some period-like cramps on and off and lower back pain. Just been for a bath which has helped though!

I think she dropped down yesterday as her bum is not at my ribs any more and I can breathe a bit easier lying down now!

welshweasel · 22/01/2019 17:21

He’s here! Iolo Gruffydd, 7lb 13oz, uncomplicated caesarean. His big brother has just been in to meet him and was delighted!

Celebelly · 22/01/2019 17:23

@welshweasel Congratulations!! Lovely news

Notquiteagandt · 22/01/2019 17:27

@welshweasel awww how lovely. Sure big brother will soon have the novelty wear off when he is old enough to rob his toys 😂 congratulations. Hope you are recovering well.

@Yakadee snap. I have everything clean/sorted/bought but I cant shake this horrible anixious feeling that I have forgotten something or need to buy something or clean somethings. Making me so restless. It is horrible.

I have a heart monitor on so cant get in bath but I am in agony with contractions in my back. My usual go to would be a bath but it is a no go. Anyone else any other tips?

detachablehoof · 22/01/2019 17:28

@welshweasel hooray congrats!

I'm feeling very sorry for myself... just had an email from Kiddies Kingdom to say that my pram (which I ordered LAST MONTH) is not available Sad Angry 38+1 and no pram... not ideal. It doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere else so back to the drawing board... quick!

bubblybrit · 22/01/2019 17:29

Congratulations @welshweasel. Great news! So pleased that mum and baby are doing well x

bubblybrit · 22/01/2019 17:32

Would a heat patch work for you @Notquiteagandt? I had really bad backache early in my pregnancy and was unable to have a bath (bathroom has just been updated and we have now added a bath but that’s only been since Nov) so relied on patches. MW said fine to use as long as you don’t lie on them or attach directly to skin.

Celebelly · 22/01/2019 17:37

Hot water bottle @Notquiteagandt ? I've been using mine quite a lot for back pain and just wedge it against lower back when I am sitting down.

Since2016 · 22/01/2019 17:45

Congratulations @welshweasel what a lovely name!

@notquiteagandt hot water bottle. I laboured in my back with DD and it’s not pleasant. And resting on a birthing ball rocking forwards and backwards to take the weight off?

Just had last MW appt. Bump is measuring 40+ weeks (she did it twice) and by her estimation baby is not small (older MW so lot of years on the clock). Not sure what to think now re baby size! No early signs tho so fx for the next two weeks.

Nesting wise - cupboards, painting walls, cleaning everything - yep. Working my way through a v extensive list!

Yakadee · 22/01/2019 17:53

@welshweasel - congratulations! Glad you're all doing well. So sweet that your other little one is so pleased!

@Notquiteagandt - that sounds rough. I hope you find something to ease them.

@Since2016 - it's crazy how it really does seem to happen! X

Notquiteagandt · 22/01/2019 17:54

Thanks ladies. Think going to dig out the hot water bottle. Just try to direct it away from the sticky pads.

Currently sat leaning against a hard wall which is helping.

Always gets to the point where I think oooh is something happening. Maybe I should pay attention to times. Than nothing.

Always in my back though mainly. So thinking I am deffo in for a back labour.

@Since2016 did u find u had bh, tightenings and contractions in your back before hand?

Since2016 · 22/01/2019 18:46

@notquiteagandt not really I’m afraid! Started in my back and then progressed to full contractions PLUS the back pain.

Celebelly · 22/01/2019 19:10

I'm having so many BH this evening. They're coming every few minutes at the moment! And then kind of dull period pain from time to time between them. I'm so uncomfy!

AliceRR · 22/01/2019 19:22

Anyone else feeling what I can only call “grumpy”?? I read mood swings are a sign the birth is close but I’m also tired so could be that. Just feel I’ve been v irritable the last few days and I’m tired. Last night I shouted at DH to go sleep somewhere else as he came to bed really late, woke me up and then was snoring loudly so I couldn’t sleep

And people are annoying me.

Like two friends wanted to organise a shower, which is lovely. I didn’t really want a shower but agreed to an afternoon tea which I thought would be nice. The organised of the two friends isn’t really involved and the mad, disorganised one is doing everything (I would have said no if I knew it was all down to her!!) My Mum and a friend have said they don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know what’s going on as I’m not part of the WhatsApp group.

Meanwhile my mother was expecting me to drive to the other side of town to take her to the afternoon tea which would turn a half hour journey into an hour’s plus journey and when I said I wasn’t sure about that she later told me she’d invited her cousins to the afternoon tea, clearly so she’ll give her a lift!

I’m actually really happy and finish work this week but quite irritable and stressed 🙄

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 22/01/2019 19:37

I’ve overdone it today and am suffering for it now!
Finished work and blitzed the living room.. as in removed all the furniture, hoovered, mopped, hoovered again. Cleaned the walls and skirting board, cleaned the column rad between all the columns, cleaned out the fireplace and polished everything. It wasn’t particularly needed (except the mopping... why does everyone spill tea over the threshold of my living room?!) but I wanted it done.

It’s my birthday today though, so I can now make everyone run round after me 😂

Yakadee · 22/01/2019 19:38

@AliceRR - I'm not sure whether I'm grumpy but DH was home for about 5 mins and in that time he complained about a cupboard full of coats and then asked if I wanted to 'you know' tonight - absolutely not!!!

I have been up since 5am, had a busy day with our son, plus cleaning, ironing etc etc. Don't know about anyone else but yeah right, it's the last thing on my mind! My pulled muscle is sore too. All I want is to eat my tea, have a shower and lay on the couch!

Maybe I am grumpy lol x

Lookingforadvice123 · 22/01/2019 19:41

Congratulations welshweasel!!! Lovely news Smile

AliceRR yes I'm grumpy for sure but it's been going on for so long I'm wondering if it's actually just part of my personality! I don't think it's anything to do with labour being near, just pregnancy hormones!

AliceRR · 22/01/2019 19:46

Not just me then 😂

I also seem to feel sick regularly after I eat - anyone else have this? I’ve noticed the sickness over the last month at least but just noticed the last few days it’s definitely more after I eat

Heartburn has come back too

Gosh I’m so moany this evening!

Yakadee · 22/01/2019 19:48

@AliceRR - I haven't suffered too much with heartburn (did for a few days a few weeks back but totally went) until today. Not sure why but certainly seems worse today? X

hayley013 · 22/01/2019 19:48

Nesting is very real! I did everything I wanted done in the house last week, sorted baby's stuff, oh decorated the kitchen, now this week I'm the opposite energy-wise, lost it all, but still can't sit still and rest

AliceRR · 22/01/2019 19:51

@Yakadee Same. It seemed to have gone as baby has moved lower down but the last couple of days it’s back!

bubblybrit · 22/01/2019 20:01

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking. I was also cleaning and hoovering today. Ended up having a lovely bath afterwards to relax. Happy Birthday! I hope that you are being pampered now x

bubblybrit · 22/01/2019 20:03

@Yakadee. Luckily my DH has not mentioned dtd lately. So pleased as it’s the last thing on my mind lol 😂

AliceRR · 22/01/2019 20:05

Happy birthday! Notasgreen

My DH is not interested in DTD either (or maybe just knows it isn’t going to happen) but might give it ago if baby doesn’t make an appearance by due date!
