@hayley013 I used a carry on size suitcase last time. Our antenatal class recommended as few bags as possible for when you move rooms so it seemed sensible.

@Lookingforadvice123 I'm not planning to bottle feed this time (possibly expressed later on though). I have bought two small cartons of formula and a small pack of new teats just in case though. I was going to reuse the bottles I had last time but dd never moved on from newborn teats so they were used for over a year and have been stored in a box in the attic/garage since.

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking it depends on your hospital. In ours they can on the midwife led unit but not on the ward/consultant led unit.

Good luck @Babynum2 !

Notquiteagandt · 07/01/2019 00:46

@Babynum2 good luck! I hope there is still some way you can have a water birth!!

Babynum2 · 07/01/2019 01:07

No water birthSad im on delivery suite. After that dishcharge i had at work today i went home to have a bath and when i got out i put a pad on to see if i got anymore. Got up about 9 to go to lay down in bed as felt ill and felt all this trickling so called up they told me to come in and they checked me confirmed my waters had gone and im only 34+6 so they have to keep me in. Theyv said looks like baby will come on their own as iv been having tightenings but if worst comes to worst they can leave me till 36weeks and then induce me but they have given me antibiotics and steroid shots now. Dont think ill be able to get much sleep got quit bad pain in my back now and just in a bit of shock

Wames90 · 07/01/2019 04:02

I hope everything goes well @Babynum2 and baby arrives safely whenever they’re ready to! I hope you manage to get some sleep x

emalady · 07/01/2019 07:43

@babynum2 best of luck, hope you aren't stuck in hospital too long.

Really should sort out the rest of the washing and the bags. Hmmm. The first thing I sorted was snacks 😂

welshweasel · 07/01/2019 07:56

Good luck @babynum2 - my DS came at exactly 35 weeks and was absolutely fine - getting the steroid shots in will make a huge difference. Fingers crossed baby stays put for a few more days!

twiglet · 07/01/2019 07:57

@babynum2 good luck!

@Yakadee I feel your pain I've been off since the 21st of December! Confused
Got 3 weeks before mat leave which this morning feels like a century away in the pitch black commute!

babyp160 · 07/01/2019 07:59

Eeeek another baby! This is so exciting and scary all rolled into one!

Hospital bag wise I had a hand luggage bag with the main bits in and then a wheely suitcase with anything we'd need if in for longer xx

powkin · 07/01/2019 08:19

@Babynum2 good luck, hope everything goes as well as possible xxx

sickmumma · 07/01/2019 08:50

@babynum2 Good Luck! Hope all goes smoothly.

Yakadee · 07/01/2019 10:59

@twiglet - 2 week's for me (actually 6 working days including today) - I cannot wait to finish!! I've hated my job for months and months but have just stuck at it as knew I'd be finishing at some point!

@Babynum2 - hope everything is going well xx

AliceRR · 07/01/2019 12:13

I have 12 working days left to work including today (last day is 25 Jan)

I still feel quite ok although I’m having little pains and movements low down are slightly uncomfortable / almost painful. I’m almost used to the PGP now.

Still trying to find a house to rent / buy before baby arrives(!) but feel ready otherwise!

I can’t imagine baby coming early as I barely even have BHs but that’s not necessarily an indication?!

Good luck @babynum2

Since2016 · 07/01/2019 12:16

First official day of maternity leave tomorrow! Enjoying a toddler free day today - it’s v odd... I really didn’t appreciate the time off last time the way I do this time 😂

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 07/01/2019 12:44

@AlicePR Same here! Got a couple of half days before that for my midwife home visit and some other stuff.

Babynum2 · 07/01/2019 13:56

Afternoon ladies....well that was a shock! He came at 5.16am he weighed 5.5lb and he was rushed off straight away as he was having breathing problems. Hes so tiny!! Been to see him now hes in scba and wriggling around. I lost lots of blood due to having such quick labour waters went at 10.10ish then had my first contraction at 4.20 second one came and i pushed him out in 3 pushes no tears though! Absolutely pooped but cannot go to sleep knowing hes on a whole other floor level to me x

bubblybrit · 07/01/2019 14:09

Congratulations @Babynum2! Hopefully you and baby are reunited soon 😀!!
