Good luck for tomorrow @welshweasel !

Notquiteagandt · 21/01/2019 18:47

@Since2016 thanks. Yeah they have said its about a 25% chance. So best to be prepared for all eventualities I guess.

Good shout on the peppermint tea. I remember having a laproscopy the other year and the pain in my sholder blades and trapped wind pain afterwards was a killer. Forgotten all about that. So thanks for the heads up!

Feel like I am count down now so just obsessing over the smallest little details. Clearly over thinking!

Notquiteagandt · 21/01/2019 18:48

Good luck Flowers @welshweasel going to be an influx of babies now I am sure. Feels oh so real now!

Celebelly · 21/01/2019 18:59

Good luck @welshweasel !

My lump was benign! Just a big cyst that has been drained. Now I can enjoy the last couple of weeks of being pregnant! And fret about actually giving birth as I have head space to do that now!

AvoidingMarking · 21/01/2019 19:07

Glad it was nothing more serious @Celebelly.

Good luck @welshweasel.

I had an induction last time @Notquiteagandt But no c section necessary. I think it depends how ready your body is anyway though.

Yakadee · 21/01/2019 19:26

@Notquiteagandt - I was induced and didn't have a section, although I am this time.

Another one with leggings / loose pj bottoms, nighties. Then really (really) high waisted pants so as not to rub.

@Celebelly - what a relief for you!

I'm so ready to meet this baby. Seems this last bit is dragging when the rest has gone so fast! X

Yakadee · 21/01/2019 19:55

I don't think I'm in labour or anything (and didn't start on my own first time) but wondered, I've had a few little 'pains' (not painful) that feel similar to period pain but a lot lot less painful, more noticeable than anything. Is this what BH feel like? I've never had them? X

maxiflump1 · 21/01/2019 20:09

@welshweasel good luck for tomorrow. Hope they don't keep you waiting too long!

@Celebelly so relieved to hear all went well at breast clinic today. Just try and relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy

@Yakadee my braxton hicks are quite violent: tummy goes absolutely rock hard and contracts really hard all the way down to my bottom and lasts about 20 seconds. Will often totally floor me. Think maybe yours sounds like baby engaging and the muscles stretching. But hey everyone is different so who knows?!

Yakadee · 21/01/2019 20:18

@maxiflump1 - god knows! Baby seems happy and movement is normal x

powkin · 21/01/2019 20:35

So pleased it’s all OK @Celebelly

I saw my last therapy client today, just one day of work left now on Thursday. Am planning to have farewell drinks after my scan on Friday so praying all is OK, I’m nervous about this last scan for some reason.

Yakadee · 21/01/2019 20:52

@maxiflump1 - I rang maternity assessment just for advice (as I'm having a planned section and would worry I'm overlooking something) and she said it sounds like baby could be engaging. She said unless accompanied by pain / contractions to carry on as normal x

twiglet · 21/01/2019 21:03

Arghhhh I hate Google! I've been in a lot of pain so last week or so been having a hot bath...... I can get in it fine and it doesn't feel too hot to me but my friend made a comment.....

So I googled (whilst in the bath....) I knew about baths first trimester but hadn't considered it this late on at 38 weeks BlushSad baby still wriggling around. I was trying to avoid paracetamol.
Pgp, shoulder pain and engaging pain combo has been constant for 2 weeks baths were the only thing helping

detachablehoof · 21/01/2019 21:36

@twiglet I thought baths were fine as long as they aren't boiling hot? Ie as long as they don't raise your core body temperature dangerously high.

detachablehoof · 21/01/2019 21:38

What sort of bags are you ladies taking to hospital?! I've just started packing (about time too) and the holdall I was planning to use is already full, before I've put in any food, towel or pyjamas. Seems daft to take a full on suitcase but not sure how on earth I'll fit everything in anything smaller?! I don't think I'm going ridiculously overboard on what I'm taking either!

detachablehoof · 21/01/2019 21:39

I went on a tour of my hospital yesterday and it really freaked me out. Suddenly everything seems so close and real. I'm so scared 😭

bubblybrit · 21/01/2019 21:41

@detachablehoof. I thought I had packed sensibly as well but still ended up with hold-all for baby and small carry on suitcase for me! DH is taking backpack with change of clothing for him and snacks for us both.

powkin · 21/01/2019 21:45

@detachablehoof - we are the same! Have a baby bag, bag for me, bag for OH. He didn’t want to leave me at the hospital but no way he can bring car seat as well, it would be ridiculous! We have no car so can’t leave stuff in it. It only there were lockers at the hospital 😂

Yakadee · 21/01/2019 21:46

@twiglet - that's what I thought. I'm not a bath fan but thought as long as it's not really hot it should be OK.

@detachablehoof - I've got a gym bag for me and a separate bag for baby (my actual nappy bag) and hubby will probably take a small rucksack or something for some bits for him and snacks. Reading this, apparently I am moving in!!!! X

detachablehoof · 21/01/2019 21:46

I'm taking two packs of maternity pads which takes up a lotttt of space 😄 is that overkill?

Yakadee · 21/01/2019 21:53

1stTimeTina · 21/01/2019 22:10

@twiglet I wouldn't worry about the hot bath, since the nausea passed at 14 weeks I've had 1 or 2 hot baths every day and baby is absolutely fine. It's only if it raises your temp enough to effect your heart rate which is unlikely, it's just common sense really, if I felt faint I would get out but it's always been fine 👍

AvoidingMarking · 21/01/2019 22:12

@twiglet I did the same thing last night. Got out feeling quite hot (I was in there for about an hour and kept topping up with hot water. I was sick after (I think from worry and heat) and then stayed awake till I felt him wriggle 5 times!

DeliberatelyGinger · 21/01/2019 22:37

I tried a bath but I don't fit! It made my shoulders worse. 😞

Since2016 · 21/01/2019 22:49

Hand luggage case and small bag for baby. I’ve packed sparingly although no snacks yet as I’m determined to only be in the one night!

hayley013 · 21/01/2019 22:57

@detachablehoof I think it's seen as quite normal to take a small cabin size suitcase, some people take a bag too. I'm hoping to get everything in a small hand luggage case just so it's all in one.

@Yakadee I've been getting period type cramps really low down on and off for the past week or so, I think it's baby moving down, muscles stretching etc for me x
