@bubblybrit Yes I am contracting too. But more of a constant pain than waves building up. Bad cramps in my back and constant fanny dagger pain. I am ashuming it is just baby moving lower and pressing on things more.

Also getting stomach aches too. Which never fun 😞 toyed with BH making my bump solid and heavy.

Think body is deffo getting ready for things. But I am only 36w being induced next week potentially 🤞 so doubt ill get to experience things properly.

I am finding baths are really helping my aches and pains. Worth a shot.

bubblybrit · 20/01/2019 11:55

I’m in the same position as you @Leonora94. If DH wasn’t working away then I wouldn’t really be thinking much of it. Just playing on my mind as he will be a 3-4 hour car journey away! The cramping is also on/off so guess it’s just part of the course given due date being so close.

bubblybrit · 20/01/2019 11:58

Thanks @Notquiteagandt. I’m definitely getting BH and feel that baby is getting lower so maybe that’s the reason for the cramping! Will definitely try a bath later this afternoon. Good luck with your induction! How very exciting that you get to meet your baby soon (hopefully!).

Notquiteagandt · 20/01/2019 12:02

@bubblybrit just try and relax. Must be hard with you worrying about your DH being away. But the stress wont do you any good. Cliche I know.

And thanks. Terrorfied and excited all at once. But more excited I think now.

bubblybrit · 20/01/2019 12:08

I feel the same about labour as no idea what to expect @Notquiteagandt. However I’m definitely excited to meet our baby girl.

Since2016 · 20/01/2019 12:08

I’ve had cramping pain on and off for a few days. Unpleasant. Fx this is just your body in preparation @bubblybrit

Also - anyone else got what I can only describe as ‘blood blisters’ down below? Gave myself a fright yesterday as I thought I was bleeding but it was one of these things. They’re v sore - assume they’re just like varicose veins and it’s pressure?

bubblybrit · 20/01/2019 12:12

That’s exactly what I’m hoping for @Since2016. This is DH last trip away with work before the birth so fingers crossed that she stays cosy in there for a little while longer! No experience of what you describe but hope you are ok.

AliceRR · 20/01/2019 12:14

Congratulations @Wames90

I’m 37 weeks today, can’t believe baby could come any time now.

So excited 🥰

AliceRR · 20/01/2019 12:14

Oh but would love if we had a bath as think that would help my aches and pains.

Going to attempt a short walk today!

Wames90 · 20/01/2019 12:24

Thank you ☺️
With labour I would say just make sure that they listen to what you want. I wanted an epidural but because they didn’t think I’d have progressed as quickly as I did they examined me and I was fully dilated so it was too late to have one. The adrenaline got me through though (& gas and air is so good even if just to control your breathing through it all!) Also anyone being induced it is not as horrendous as everything you read. The pessary just felt like a tampon that isn’t quite in properly! You can all do this 💪🏼💪🏼

Wames90 · 20/01/2019 12:30

Just re-read that and it makes it look like I breezed through it with a bit of gas & air.. I did also have pethidine and ended up having a spinal block for forceps delivery because he got a bit stuck!

Since2016 · 20/01/2019 12:53

Congratulations @wames90

Yakadee · 20/01/2019 13:11

@sickmumma - this last bit is such a slog! These flipping hormones don't help matters do they! Hope you're feeling a bit brighter soon x

@Wames90 - fantastic news! Congratulations! Glad you're all ok xx

Celebelly · 20/01/2019 13:21

I've been having some on/off period-type cramps last few days. All pretty mild, but it's exciting!

I've gone from being a shower girl to having baths pretty much every night for last few weeks! They really help all my aches and pains.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 20/01/2019 13:23

Is it wrong that I am really looking forward to the gas and air? 😂

I can’t wait to make my other half try it!! Amazing stuff 😍😍

Yakadee · 20/01/2019 13:29

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - Haha it's good stuff isn't it! X

Celebelly · 20/01/2019 13:31

The tens machine I rented arrived the other day so need to get DP to do a dry run with attaching pads etc!

maxiflump1 · 20/01/2019 13:33

Congratulations @Wames90. How early was your little man? How heavy was he? Hope you're doing ok. Are you home yet?

Will miss out on the G&A this time. Although the diamorphine they gave me sent me loopy. I quite enjoyed the G&A too!

Wames90 · 20/01/2019 14:03

@maxiflump I was 38+1 and he was 7lb 14oz so not sure there’d have been much more room if I’d ended up going over! We came home yesterday evening x

hayley013 · 20/01/2019 14:54

@bubblybrit I'm having lots of crampy feelings very low, feels like ligament stretching to me, and it's not consistent so I've not found it worrying. Didn't have this with dd though.

Congratulations @Wames90 glad you're both well! That's a great weight, and pleased you're both home now.

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I'm looking forward to the gas and air getting me through it, oh didn't have a chance of trying it last time as there was no way I was letting go of it 😂

lanalawr · 20/01/2019 15:02

@Wames90 congratulations! I hope he's doing well and the pre-eclampsia symptoms have gone now.

I wasn't all that keen on gas and air. By the time I tried it I didn't find it helpful and it just made me feel dizzy. Loads of people seem to love it though!

bubblybrit · 20/01/2019 15:06

I also think it’s stretching....when I’m rational @hayley013! Just worried due to DH not being easily available for a few days.

Yakadee · 20/01/2019 15:28

This flipping pulled muscle (or whatever it is) is really sore today - think I must have over done it! I'm so glad I'm not in work now 🎉

emalady · 20/01/2019 18:12

Just caught up after a few days off congratulations @wames90. I'm 38 weeks tomorrow, getting the odd period cramping but nothing much so far. Have a scan on 31st as the little one isn't growing quite as well as she should be. Hopefully she will pick up but if not then we might be meeting her sooner. Or maybe she will decide she is ready before then.
I have bought a caboo as I wanted a stretchy wrap when she was little but didn't trust myself with the tying. John Lewis also have weighted dolls with the slings in the baby department if you don't have a sling library or it's a difficult day.
