@AvoidingMarking - thanks for all of that! X

welshweasel · 19/01/2019 21:43

Another vote for a stretchy wrap for the first few months, so comfy and snuggly for both of you. I used to tie mine in the morning and leave it on all day. I could pop DS in and out as needed without any issues.

Notquiteagandt · 19/01/2019 21:47

@Yakadee I would try after baby is born. As differant carriers and diff ways of carrying sling take the weight in differant places. Plus hard to try on with a bump in way.

Other things that may be a consideration after you have baby that may not be an issue now are things like if you have a csec or size of baby etc.

It is such a personal thing as everyones differant. And differant body shapes.

I have a stretchy wrap for the newborn stage and an ergo 360 with NB insert. As i prefare to carry weight on my hips and waist rather than back or sholders. I have worked closely with ergo before so know it suits my body shape and non existant sholders. But alternitively I know this is the reason some people dont like it. The narrow straps and buckle at back. So it is such a personal thing.

If you get a wrap though so many videos to help on you tube.

Urgh so had headaches on off all week. But tonights isnt shifting. Paracetmol isnt helping neither is cold flannel.

Anyone any tips or remmedies? I would quite like to sleep tonight 😴

Since2016 · 19/01/2019 21:51

Excellent advice from others on slings. I didn’t get on with anything too padded, and DD was heavy so I wanted something with support - ie. buckles.

AvoidingMarking · 19/01/2019 21:58

Also, last thing from me, sorry!

These are the rules that you need to follow when baby wearing- regardless of carrier. 'TICKS' safety

Yakadee · 19/01/2019 21:59

@Notquiteagandt - have you tried 4head? Might be worth a go? X

Tha for all the advice. I was speaking to a friend and she's going to get me try hers out to begin with and I'll see how I get on with that one. Will defo look into the library though xx

Notquiteagandt · 19/01/2019 22:04

@Yakadee good idea thanks! Just found some tiger balm whilst routing around. Going to give that a go I think 🤞 simular concept isnt it.

hayley013 · 19/01/2019 22:08

@Notquiteagandt I had awful headaches in first tri and I found a compress of ice on the back of my neck had the best effect, hope it clears soon xx

Camsie30 · 19/01/2019 23:11

@Notquiteagandt have you tried forhead? It's a roll on stick that relieves headaches, I think it's brilliant, been a life saver this pregnancy

Celebelly · 19/01/2019 23:26

Caffeine! Only thing that sorted my rotten headaches in second trimester.

lanalawr · 19/01/2019 23:58

@Yakadee it's probably best to try after the baby is born because your body shape will change and the bump won't be in the way. If you want to look at them before the baby is born then you could try contacting your local sling library. Most of them will have weighted dolls to put in the carrier and you can see how they tie/tighten/buckle without a baby anyway.

Notquiteagandt · 20/01/2019 04:02

Thanks ladies for the tips. Tiger balm and a steamy shower seemed to help a little. Think I need to invest in some for head asap.
I feel just as bad as I did in 1st tri again. Hormones have deffiantly surged again last few weeks. Guess a sign the end is in sight hey!!

hayley013 · 20/01/2019 04:40

@Notquiteagandt I was the same when I had dd, felt exactly the same as first tri in those last couple of weeks, hope it stays away this time as I'm already fed up. 4am wake up again, it's everyday now.

Lookingforadvice123 · 20/01/2019 08:07

Poor Harry and poor you Babynum2. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Does anyone else feel they are carrying super low? I know it doesn't have any impact on when the baby will come (as much as people in work keep telling me it won't be long!) but I'm more concerned about the impact on my stomach muscles tbh! I guess on subsequent pregnancies it's more likely to be low. I just feel like the bump has suddenly dropped the last week or two and I've still got over 4 weeks until D day.

DeliberatelyGinger · 20/01/2019 08:08

Worst nights sleep ever! My shoulders, legs and hope are killing me.

DeliberatelyGinger · 20/01/2019 08:08

That was supposed to say hips. Hope is good. 😃

Yakadee · 20/01/2019 08:21

@Notquiteagandt - I've never tried it but yeah I'd guess so - good luck!

@lanalawr - great idea, thanks.

I actually slept so much better last night, but a stupid alarm went off for a whole hour! It was so loud and we had no idea where it was coming from! Annoying!!

38 weeks today though and into single figures for my section - woop, 9 days!!! Xx

sickmumma · 20/01/2019 11:08

Hey ladies, how is everyone doing? This weekend I've just been in such a bad mood, I am tired, hormonal, feel like I could just cry I am so fed up I've had a headache and been really feeling really sick all weekend and generally feeling very fed up and sorry for myself but it's making me short tempered with the kids and DH. Still have 5 weeks to go and a really full on week ahead and I just feel depressed about it all and want to hibernate until this baby is born.

Wames90 · 20/01/2019 11:13

Just to update you all.. our little man arrived 18/01 after being induced due to mild pre eclampsia. I’ve never felt so in love 🥰. Hoping these final weeks of pregnancy go smoothly for you all and the aches and pains settle for you so you can enjoy the last weeks x

Leonora94 · 20/01/2019 11:19

Insomnia was real last night...didn’t sleep till four! The pressure down below was so immense I honestly thought she was going to fall out 🙈 hope everyone has a lovely Sunday x

Leonora94 · 20/01/2019 11:21

@Wames90 Congratulations! I’m immensely jealous 🥰💕

bubblybrit · 20/01/2019 11:22

Congratulations @Wames90. Enjoy your gorgeous baby boy! X

bubblybrit · 20/01/2019 11:34

Is anyone else experiencing very mild cramping and not went into labour? Wouldn’t usually concern me but my DH is working away from home Monday to Thursday next week! No other symptoms or anything so presuming just stretching over the final few weeks??

Leonora94 · 20/01/2019 11:42

@bubblybrit I’ve also been having on and off cramping but I really don’t think it’s labour as it’s not really painful more uncumftable and I’m only 36 weeks but It’s my first so I have no idea.
