Just had a bath and it was a delicate balance of trying to get it hot enough to soothe aches but also not so hot that it cooks the poor baby! The pregnancy struggles we have that I'd never considered before!

bubblybrit · 14/01/2019 23:16

Thanks @twiglet. I’ll give that a try this evening and hopefully get some sleep! I cannot wait for this baby to be born....

Yakadee · 15/01/2019 07:05

Congestion!!!! I am so over this! Another terrible nights sleep (I know I'm not alone).

What the hell do you do? I pretty much saw every hour last night, I'm so tired but just can't sleep (stay asleep). Everyone else feeling fed up of this? X

fiona5 · 15/01/2019 07:18

@Yakadee I'm with you Sad it doesn't help that my nearly 2 year old has taken to getting up at 5:30am - this is when I usually get a solid hours sleep because I'm exhausted from being awake most of the night or hauling my gigantic body out the bed for the loo Grin

How long do you have left?

hayley013 · 15/01/2019 08:21

Yep same here, I remember being the same with dd and actually getting better quality sleep once she'd arrived. I was up 4-5 this morning so not as bad but my legs/thighs/ankles are in absolute agony, can barely walk

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 15/01/2019 08:25

I’m ready to start whinging now... the usual aches and niggles have turned into full on pain now, didn’t sleep till 3am because of heartburn, his head was well engaged too because the horrible (almost crunchy/grinding) pain is happening very frequently (sometimes constantly).
Sometimes it’s too painful to sit, sometimes it’s too painful to stand. Walking any distance just hurts (getting to work on time is fun 😬)

Im over pregnancy now... 30 days to go 😩😩😩

Since2016 · 15/01/2019 08:52

I am so tired this week. Added to which DD is getting into our bed at unholy hours each morning and my bum / hips ache like a MF by 4am. So glad I’m not at work - I remember this exhaustion first time round but with an almost 3 year old too 😫 - trying to summon up energy for yoga. Not sure I can be bothered!

AliceRR · 15/01/2019 09:32

@Notasgreenascabbagelooking

I appreciate the heads up! I think it’s better to be prepared. I don’t think I really knew what to think and hadn’t given it a lot of thought...

Sleeping is more difficult although I am somehow still getting sleep despite having to change sides quite frequently. Legs and hips and back hurt. Have something like a pulled muscle. I’m probably the happiest I’ve ever been so excited to meet LO although have been v moody with DH over the weekend!!

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 15/01/2019 09:40

34.5 weeks and bump is dropping which has surprisingly helped some of my back pain!

costacoffeecup · 15/01/2019 09:55

Section date booked for 24th - starting to worry about how to get my four year old to not get into our bed in the middle of the night before then! It's going to be chaos 😫

Anyone else really struggling with stairs? Our house is on three floors and I need to go up to the top floor to build the Chico next to me cot (which has been in the loft got nearly four years so not sure what state it will be in.) I actually am not sure I'll make it all the way up there!

JamilaJ · 15/01/2019 10:28

Hello ladies. I’m a bit late to this as I’m due on 2nd February but wanted to wish everyone luck!

maxiflump1 · 15/01/2019 11:20

I've been for my consultants appointment this morning and they won't book a date for the section at this time. I will get a phone call when I'm 38 weeks with a date. Bit frustrating as many of you have been given an exact date weeks in advance and I want to know even though it's only another 10 days to wait!

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking warm bath helped a lot and I could sleep few more hours last night!!
Although I woke up at 4am and started some cleaning downstairs GrinGrin
I've never thought about how my stomache will look like after birth,I was too concerned about stretch marksConfused Bio-Oil works wonders for me!Grin
The struggle is real now, stairs, getting into the bath, heartburn, hips pain, sleepless nights, everything all together makes me wonder how do we do it!!
To all 2nd time mums,I admire you and your strenght and regardless of knowing what to expect pregnancy wise deciding to do it all over again! And getting through it all with a toddler to care for!! I'm tired of being tired but whenever I think of you I get extra energy! SmileSmileSmile

lanalawr · 15/01/2019 12:25

Oddly I haven't found it as hard as I expected with a toddler. The beginning when I wasn't feeling great was hard and being slow and not able to catch dd isn't particularly easy but she's at a nice age now (about to turn 2.5). There's definitely less time to think about things though and you just need to get on with it.

Had my growth scan today and very surprised. Despite being off the chart for fundal height I've got an average sized baby apparently. I wasn't expecting the baby to be off the chart but wasn't expecting them on the 50th percentile either.

Since2016 · 15/01/2019 12:39

@maxiflump1 that is sooo frustrating!! I’m having mine at 38+6. I would not appreciate less than a weeks notice.

@lanalawr that’s how I feel re the growth scan! I was super upset last night - hormones. But feeling better today - I just ended up worrying I’d done something wrong! Be interested to see what size these babies come out as!

Yakadee · 15/01/2019 13:18

@fiona5 - I know! My son has randomly started waking in the night for a few hours, no idea why? Growth spurt maybe? He was a solid 7-6 kind of sleeper but seems to be waking about 1/2am and chatting to himself for ages! (He's 2 too). It's my last day at work tomorrow 🎉🎉🎉 and I'm booked in for my section 2 weeks today so the end is in sight!

@hayley013 - that's what I was saying to my husband lol.

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - I'm over it too. At least we know the end is near!

@JamilaJ - welcome!

@maxiflump1 - how disappointing! I wouldn't want to wait to find out either, it's limbo!

Xxx

isitfridayyet1 · 15/01/2019 13:24

Is it too late to join. Due 12th Feb with second child 😀. Don't know gender yet, but so glad it's the home stretch!

lanalawr · 15/01/2019 13:25

@Since2016 I'm sorry you were upset after your growth scan. It's not surprising given the difference in prediction and your first child's weight. 6lb is still a reasonable weight though and who knows what they'll really weigh! Glad you're feeling a bit better today though. I'm just pleased that mine means I can stay under midwife led care and won't have to automatically go to the ward.

twiglet · 15/01/2019 13:38

Has anyone got any tips for making a back to back baby shift?
I've been sat on my ball etc but my back is sore so struggle after a while! Really don't want a back to back birth and nearly 37 weeks Confused

I now have a long list of niggles I feel bad for moaning but been in pain since 18 weeks or so with pgp. Now added carpel tunnel, anaemia, acid reflux/heartburn, insomnia etc etc

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 15/01/2019 13:53

In looking for ways to make baby move for myself and my friend, we found:

swimming
squats
hip circles on birth ball
long walk
going on a swing

Celebelly · 15/01/2019 14:13

Is anyone else still fretting about names?!

mummymummymummummum · 15/01/2019 14:13

@twiglet My pilates teacher recommends an exercise she calls wagging your tail. Get on all fours on the floor. Stick your bum out a bit, and try to hold bump in a bit and then wag! It's really nice on your lower back. It also opens up space so baby has room to move. You can do the same thing but lean on a sofa to save your wrists a bit.

Also, check out a website called Spinning Babies.

There's still plenty of time for baby to move. It might even happen once you're in labour!

lanalawr · 15/01/2019 14:50

No idea how to shift a baby from back to back sorry @twiglet but just wanted to say that dd was back to back and I didn't have any issues. It was actually fine for me. This baby is back to back too at the moment. I'm sorry you're struggling though. Hoping some of it lifts for you soon. As @mummymummymummummum said it can happen late too. I know someone who had a back to back baby. The baby turned in labour and more or less shot out!

powkin · 15/01/2019 14:53

Suddenly have the worst period like cramps, the ones that are down below rather than in your abdomen. Freaking out a bit! Needed to use the toilet and then it’s suddenly got really intense.

Celebelly · 15/01/2019 14:54

Ooh @powkin! Maybe something is on the go?? How far along are you?
