Part 3 already!

A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

Anyone awake? Woke up for a wee and now sucking a mint coz i have a raging sore throat 😞.

Blueberry2018 · 05/01/2019 03:27

Eugh now ive been sick too. Cant wait for nausea and sickness to do one!

starryeyed13 · 05/01/2019 06:06

@Blueberry2018 I've been awake since 4 Confused sorry you were sick and hope you're feeling better now.

I'm worrying myself because am not feeling sick and my boobs don't seem to be hurting as much but I'm only 7+5 so it's a bit early for symptoms to be tailing off. Not sure how I'm going to be able to wait another 4 weeks for a scan Confused

ScotsBaby2 · 05/01/2019 06:13

Hi @starryeyed13 I'm away too. My 1 yo is being miserable and has just fallen back to sleep.

I'm very worried about my lack of symptoms. I've had one day of slight nausea and one day of slightly sore boobs. Last time I had 20 weeks of sickness and at least 10 weeks of sore boobs. I don't want to get a private early scan as I don't want them to give me the bad news at a private clinic then I have no answers to what to do next but equally everything could be fine and I'm stressing over nothing. Argh! I spent all last pregnancy trying to get rid of sickness and here I am hoping I get sick. Sorry I'm not more helpful but I'm in the same boat. We can worry together.

Sorry to hear you're awake too @ScotsBaby2 :( it's rubbish when you're tired but then can't get back to sleep.

I know exactly what you mean. I don't have anything to compare it to and everything I have read suggests that every pregnancy is different, so it might just well be that your body is more used to pregnancy now and that's why it's been so different? It's tough though - patience is not a strong point of mine and the uncertainty/worry is so tough!

These threads are such a godsend, so nice to feel we're not alone!

Blueberry2018 · 05/01/2019 07:02

@starryeyed13 I really wouldn't worry sweet, my nausea and sore breasts went alot last few days but i had scan on Thursday and bumps heart was beating away strong and regular.. then my symptoms came back yesterday with a vengeance! I think they will come and go in waves tbh until second trimester (hopefully!!!). Hope your not feeling too tired, gotta do all my paperwork today, feel so bleugh, dreading going back to teaching Monday!

Blueberry2018 · 05/01/2019 07:05

@ScotsBaby2 I understand your concern of finding bad news at private clinic- i queried this with them when i went for scan and sonographer said their procedure is (if they find something wrong) that they ring the local EPAU and book you in for an emergency appointment, explaining the scan report to the EPAU team so you get seen straight away. Not a nice situation to be in but assume you'd be given another scan at hosp and then options of what to do.

Twitwooo · 05/01/2019 07:42

@ScotsBaby2 I'm in the same boat as you. By this time with my dd I was on my knees and anti sickness pills and the lot. Right now apart from tiredness, bloating, bitchy moods, frequent wees and a crappy taste in my mouth I am fine. I tell myself every pregnancy is different and it's fine but this doesn't seem to be working and I'm still anxious. Just have to have positive thoughts and wait for 12 weeks...

I decided against private scan because knowing myself it will only reassure me for about an hour. The next morning I will already be wondering if everything is ok in there. It's just a terrible time of uncertainty until 12wks and then it gets better, I don't think, for me, that there is anything that can alleviate the feeling! Cest la vie

UnicornDust17 · 05/01/2019 07:58

It's reassuring to read all these posts I also have very few of the typical symptoms. No sore boobs, hardly any nausea. I keep having to talk to myself and remind myself I didn't have any last time either, but it's hard. And I'm not sure if all the medication I'm on could be masking symptoms? 🤷‍♀️

It's crazy isn't it? Some of you are so poorly and those of us who aren't sick are still worrying. Sad

How's the FB group going? I was just thinking of joining after my 12 week scan.

I think I'm 10 weeks today. I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend planned.?

Bakingabean · 05/01/2019 08:08

@scotsbaby2 @twittwoo I totally get the anxiety. I had an early scan, all was fine but within a week I was overthinking whether everything was still fine.

The nausea might be settling down but I'm still feeling really fussy about food. For someone who eats literally everything, it's really bloody annoying.

Has anyone else got restless legs? Luckily not when I'm in bed so much but sitting on the sofa, I have to change positions constantly of my legs seem to twitch by themselves.

RaindropsRoses · 05/01/2019 08:12

twitwooo that's why I wanted to wait til after 8 weeks for our scan as dp wanted me to have it too but he wanted it sooner. Expect I'll still have another at 9w but really trying to not worry now we've seen all ok so far. Another 6w til the nhs one seems so long.

We are on holiday week after next and I have a massage booked which I will have to cancel I think. What would you all do? It says not recommended under 12w. I dont know if there is actually any increased risk or if its that they dont want you worrying if it was that if something did go wrong after?

marajade12 · 05/01/2019 08:14

Dh has just brought me a cup of tea in bed, hope I can keep it down, last time ended up chucking the whole lot up. Haven’t been keen on tea since🤢

I am still so worried too even though I had a good scan this week I’ve had more pink spotting yesterday. Don’t think I’ll call EPU back unless the spotting gets a lot worse, such a worrying time.

Moncwf · 05/01/2019 09:11

@ScotsBaby2 I feel the same about scan. All the local clinics have quite cutesy names like 'tummy2mummy' and I just feel like they'd be a terrible place to get bad news. Also don't want to pay to be given bad news. And @Twitwooo is right, I'd be back to worrying anyway. Anxiety isn't rational. @marajade12 I know a few people who had spotting and bleeding throughout and were fine. Did they find any reason for it? I'm sorry you feel sick.
I'm 6+2 ish and I am starting to feel quite sick. I was never actually sick in my last pregnancy, just constantly nauseous and retching and couldn't stomach much at all. I ended up losing a stone in the first trimester.
Yesterday I ate a small bowl of chips and 4 waffles, plus a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Today I've had half a piece of toast, my stomach feels awful. I have to look after my 2 year old alone as DH on nights. We're currently watching TV. I see a lot of TV watching over the next few months.

CalmerComber · 05/01/2019 09:41

@RiseYeSunkenShips yes I had GD when pregnant with DD, managed by medication. I’ve beeb trying to eat the GD diet so far with this preg but I’m finding it really tough because the pregnancy sickness is absolutely awful this time around so things like cream crackers and the odd bit of toast have crept in. They do make me feel like shit after though.

Whoopsies · 05/01/2019 09:51

Morning all. Still feeling quite sick all the time here, but it definitely isn't putting me off eating or drinking, when I'm eating is the only time I don't feel sick, so will just push through and hope it eases off soon.
Dh is working today so it's just me and ds. He went to the panto last night with grandparents and didn't get home till 11!!! So we're both tired today.
I had no sickness or nausea in my last pregnancy and everything was fine, but I'm sure I would be worrying if it was the other way round.

KMic · 05/01/2019 09:53

@Whoopsies I am totally the same as you with the nausea! Eating makes me feel better ... I braved the scales this morning ... already 5lb up and I'm only almost 9 weeks!! 🙈🙈🙈 already dreading the post baby diet!!

marajade12 · 05/01/2019 09:55

@Moncwf I have a small subchorionic bleed that was picked up on the scan, the nurse at the EPU explained it was quite common and not to worry about it as it was small.

I’ve only got 2.5 weeks until my 12 week scan so trying to hold out until then.

Moncwf · 05/01/2019 10:14

@marajade12 ah that's good that you know what it was. Not too long to wait then!

avacadooo · 05/01/2019 10:28

@ScotsBaby2 I couldn't even finish my roll 😂 it was the size of my head!

I've got a private scan today because I'd rather know now what's going on than having to wait until the 1st February!

RiseYeSunkenShips · 05/01/2019 10:52

@CalmerComber I’m the same, fruit juice has been getting me through the days with nausea at the moment. That’s why I thought just cut out added sugar to start with. I’ve not really fancied anything sweet tho which is helpful!
I am enjoying raw carrot sticks and satsumas at the moment too.

Maybe try and eat something high in protein at the same time if you can stomach it? Will slow the breakdown of the carbohydrates.

Got my booking in appt next Friday so will ask the midwife about it then.

Is anyone else having really crazy dreams at the moment? They didn’t start until later on last time

KMic · 05/01/2019 11:31

@RiseYeSunkenShips ... not crazy but really vivid dreams for sure!!

RiseYeSunkenShips · 05/01/2019 11:52

@KMic mine have been horror film level stuff and I don’t even watch them so I don’t know where my brains got the ideas Hmm

clairelee17 · 05/01/2019 11:52

@RiseYeSunkenShips omg now you mentioned it, I had the strangest dream last night. I was pregnant but have birth to 8 puppies. Wtf?!!

clairelee17 · 05/01/2019 11:53

*gave birth Hmm
