Part 3 already!

A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

wow @kcjoe what a rollercoaster indeed, good you got to speak to the consultant, though. I hope the time between now and the scan goes quickly for you.

avacadooo · 04/01/2019 14:39

Sorry to any of you who's feeling sick for what you're about to read.
Was having a wee and I've got this cough going on but I can't cough too much as it makes me feel more sick, had to throw up into my bath but because I haven't eaten all day and I only had some plain noodles yesterday which have obviously digested it's come out bright yellow and really slimy? Should I be concerned?
My throat is burning now and it was like vomiting bleach.
Safe to say my anti sickness tablets are doing nothing for me and it's definitely the weirdest multi task I've ever done 😂

EverythingNow · 04/01/2019 14:44

@Kcjoe fingers crossed for the 14th. One of my friends (now in his 40s) was a coil baby, it just must be so hard to be waiting.

I can't remember who asked me this many threads ago but when I saw my MW she said that they do 36wk growth scans as standard in this area, I have no idea of the rationale behind it.

I guess from a risks point of view I'm higher risk of GD and other health things because of my bmi, plus my age plus the number of pregnancies so I guess I'll have it. But then dd3 was nearly 10lb do I want to know that this ones even bigger? Especially as growth scans are notoriously inaccurate!

Tunnocks34 · 04/01/2019 15:36

Hello! Hope it is ok if I join! Due 29/08/2019!

Currently have awful nausea all day but no sickness. This is my third (and final) child!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 04/01/2019 16:06

Avacadooo, I don't think you need to be concerned, it's just your stomach lining. I'm sorry your still so sick :( hope your over it in the next few weeks

Notanotherpawpatrol · 04/01/2019 16:07

Kcjoe, that all sounds really stressful, I hope the scan goes well xx

Cobblestones · 04/01/2019 16:13

Wow this thread moves really quickly.

Does anyone have any tips for drinks / juices that hopefully one can retain? I can’t seem to retain water. And anything acidic/citrus such as lemon or orange gives me terrible nausea. I’ve been having coconut water and apple juice but now getting tired of both.

Pls share any ideas you have. Thank you!

Ninunina · 04/01/2019 16:45

@Kcjoe that sounds a lot more positive than your previous appointment. I have a cousin who is a "coil baby". Fingers crossed all will be well xxx

emma1224 · 04/01/2019 16:46

@Cobblestones
I found lemonade, also summer fruits diluted juice
Also for a hot drink I think i mentioned before that mother in law gave me ginger cordial and I add a little of that to boiled water and that takes the edge off and fingers crossed I havent bought that up x

ScotsBaby2 · 04/01/2019 16:47

@Cobblestones what about Ribena?

OP posts:
Ninunina · 04/01/2019 16:50

@Cobblestones I find lightly sparkling water is easier for me to take than still water.

OctoberGirl91 · 04/01/2019 17:08

I've just had a call off doctors, midwives have rang to say my urine sample has got E Coli in it so I've got a Heineken infection and need to start anti biotics straight away so they've sent a prescription to my pharmacy electronically, rang back and spoke to GP he said I have to retest in 5 days.

Anyone had this? Never heard of E Coli in urine? So I'm on amoxcillin now xx

OctoberGirl91 · 04/01/2019 17:09

Stupid autocorrect * Urine Infection

mrsof20118 · 04/01/2019 17:32

@Cobblestones I swore by belvoir ginger drink mixed with half hot water for esdl yg nausea days. Now I'm loving the m&s cucumber and mint sparkling water
@OctoberGirl91 I get frequent water infections anyway due to kidney problems. I have cefalexin to treat mine. Its quite common to get them in pregnancy

FirstTimer88 · 04/01/2019 17:42

@bubblegumunicorn Thank you again for the EPU recommendation. After stressing at work for hours I walked out early and took myself to EPU where they scanned me and confirmed I’m measuring 6+4 and saw a heartbeat. Feeling really reassured and they were so lovely about me going (I turned up as they closed!).

clairelee17 · 04/01/2019 17:44

@OctoberGirl91 I had to laugh at the Heineken infection bit! Grin Sorry to hear that, I've never heard of it in urine. It's good that they called you straight away though.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 04/01/2019 17:46

@Cobblestones I've been drinking mango juice to cure my nausia. Seems to work for me.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 04/01/2019 17:51

October, uti's are very common during pregnancy and need treating ASAP as they can cause the uterus to start contracting.
I just googled it because I'd never heard of e coli in urine, but it seems its the common cause of most uti's. It's not contagious and nothing serious to worry about :)

Moncwf · 04/01/2019 17:55

@avacadooo and anyone else suffering with nausea and vomiting have a look at this www.rcog.org.uk/en/guidelines-research-services/guidelines/gtg69/
Guidance is to treat with anti emetics (anti sickness) even if just nausea. It's fine for the baby and you don't have to suffer. I'm only 6 weeks so nausea has been variable, will definitely seek help if it gets worse. I struggled to function by about 10 weeks last time.

@kcjoe wow, what a stressful few days! I hope seeing the consultant has helped.

OctoberGirl91 · 04/01/2019 18:05

I know I looked back thinking what a plonker @clairelee17 😂🙈

I didn't even feel like I had an infection good job I saw midwife or I wouldn't have know about it wondered if that's caused my thrush as well!

Pregnancy is such fun but as long as it sticks I am happy. Xx

OctoberGirl91 · 04/01/2019 18:06

Thanks @Notanotherpawpatrol I was googling away once I spoke to doctor as I had never heard of it before! Least I've started anti biotics straight away xx

Notanotherpawpatrol · 04/01/2019 18:10

October, with my first baby I ended up in hospital really unwell. I was asked if I thought I had a uti and I said "I've never had one so I don't know" the nurse said "oh, you'd know if you had one, you'd definitely know". Turns out I had a uti! I also found out I'd had them regularly since I was a little girl, but thought it was normal to feel discomfort weeing since it had happened on and off since I was really small 😂😳

UnicornDust17 · 04/01/2019 18:17

i read something a while ago which said that ecoli bacteria is actually quite common, but I also didn't know it was the leading cause of UTIs @Notanotherpawpatrol . @OctoberGirl91 I hope the anitbiotics kick in soon for you.

PinkLady89x · 04/01/2019 18:42

@OctoberGirl91 glad you're getting the medicine you need. I've had so many UTIs before and they are the worst but the antibiotics do really kick in quickly. Hope you feel well again soon.

Is anyone else getting backache in the lower back? Mine is mainly when I'm sleeping and when I'm on my sides particularly. It feels like my hips are separating or something 🤦🏼‍♀️.

This nausea is so much worse than when I was 6 weeks with my mmc. I didn't really have any symptoms then but now I have this awful nausea and I've found that drinking cold water does ease it slightly. 😅.

This is not a glamorous process 🤣

sacrecoeur0712 · 04/01/2019 18:45

@FirstTimer88 so pleased to hear you’ve been checked over and all is well Smile
