A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

7+5 today

Booked in with mw yesterday

She said if i dont have a scan date in 2 weeks to let her know and she will chase it up so hopefully i will not be waiting until near 14 weeks

She didnt seem phased at all by this being dc5 which is funny because two years ago when i had dc4 the mw i saw then was all in a flap telling me risks and what i cannot do!

Twins is exciting but i dont know if i could manage that! That would make my 5 into 6! No family history of twins here though, im also only 30 and very short which both make me unlikely to have twins (or so i read)

Whoopsies · 16/01/2019 07:42

@calmercomber how exciting! I'm definitely in the rather you than me camp though 😂 My friend had twin girls and managed to bf them both. She was super strict with them, they got 30 mins each every 3 hours and that was that. Worked for her, but obviously not fool proof!!

Kcjoe · 16/01/2019 08:42

Thank you for your help and advice 😀I called my Drs this morning and they said they dont really want to change the tablets as it's too risky. I have a complicated enough pregnancy apparently. So I'll try them for a little longer. On the plus side my Dr has signed me off for 2 weeks until I go for my next hospital appointment as the stress of my complications is not helping me rest etc x

Kcjoe · 16/01/2019 08:47

My cousin had twins, boy and a girl, and now her husband's brother is having twins with his wife 🤣 my partner and I were so worried that we would have twins. We have one child each already. I love twins and i love the idea of having twins but I think having twins would have pushed us right over the edge with this pregnancy 😂

Ducksandacorns · 16/01/2019 08:49

Morning all.

Been worrying all night about my dates. I posted last week after an early scan and I was measuring 5-6 weeks when I thought I was 7 weeks.

If I got my BFP on December 10th, how many weeks is the minimum I could have been pregnant at that point? Hope that makes sense!

sacrecoeur0712 · 16/01/2019 09:04

@Ducksandacorns - I think early scans are not that reliable for dating. I had a scan at 6 weeks with DS1 and they said I was measuring 4-5 weeks, which I knew was wrong. At my 12 week scan he’d caught back up and my EDD stayed as I’d originally thought. He’s now a healthy but smart arse 9 year old Grin

jmac88 · 16/01/2019 09:11

Hi All!

Am I too late to join? I can see I have a lot to catch up on!

I am due 2nd baby mid august. My app says 12th buy my cycle is quite irregular so I don't think it can be that accurate.

I have my 12 werk scan booked for 28th Jan and my 2nd mw app today.

Feeling quite anxious this pregnancy as my son was born prematurely 6 weeks and although he did really well, it was still a rough road and quite terrifying during that time. My waters ruptured 8 weeks early so there was a period of 2 weeks not knowing what was going to happen.

Anyway I will be consultant led and hopefully they will monitor closely although they seem pretty relaxed about it all at the moment.

Feeling ok so far but lots of nausea and tiredness, which does seem to be getting slightly better.

I'm sorry to see there have been some losses for some of you.

Excited to see we have some twins in the group!

Karigan195 · 16/01/2019 09:12

May I join please? I haven’t had my dating scan yet but due date is currently estimated to be 31.8.19.

7+4 today. I’m worrying so much about something going wrong though. Symptoms seem to have eased this week. I woke up feeling good rather than nauseas and boobs are still swolllen but not as sore. Is this normal?

starryeyed13 · 16/01/2019 09:14

@Ducksandacorns I had a scan at 7 weeks and was told I was measuring at 6+2. Had a scan at 8 weeks and was measuring at 8 weeks exactly. Bear in mind that at 6-7 weeks the baby only measures something like .5 or .6cm - they really are tiny! So don't worry too much. They say that you need to wait until the 12 week scan for accurate dating.

starryeyed13 · 16/01/2019 09:16

Welcome @jmac88 and @Karigan195

@Karigan195 lots of us have had symptoms come and go. My midwife says it's perfectly normal. Unless you have extreme cramping or bleeding you are most likely fine, but I do understand how stressful the waiting is!

Karigan195 · 16/01/2019 09:32

Thank you. That’s reassuring.

No extreme cramping or bleeding. Little pain yesterday after I did too much but only mild.

Jokie · 16/01/2019 09:56

Welcome @jmac88 and @Karigan195 ! It's a lovely group of ladies here!

Kariana · 16/01/2019 10:10

Hello everyone, I've been reading along a while but too nervous to hop on board until I'd had a scan. Caved in and paid for a private one as I was worrying about lack of symptoms and there was a baby with heartbeat. I'm 11 weeks according to my dates so due 5.8.19.

This is my second baby. With ds (now 2yrs) I had constant nausea and exhaustion from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. This time both have been much milder and very on and off so hopefully that's reassuring to all those worrying about symptoms disappearing.

Very sorry to hear about those suffering losses and other complications 💐

Ducksandacorns · 16/01/2019 12:05

@starryeyed13 @sacrecoeur0712
Thank you for the reassurance ladies!

Happy2be · 16/01/2019 12:24

Hi All 👋
Another silent watcher here looking to join. I am roughly 8 weeks today. Sickness and nausea has been a B*h! Currently on cyclizine which so far, seems to be helping a lot! Seen by the midwife and just waiting for my appointment to come through for my 12 week scan. So excited! All going well and according to my dates should be due around 28/08.

Chocolate89 · 16/01/2019 12:41

Saw my obstetrician today who gave me a stick scan, can't get enough of seeing this little one jumping about! So reassuring with everthing else going on ❤
@kcjoe delighted you got signed off. One less stress for you xxx

August 2019 Part 3: nausea, scans and big reveals
pixietheginger · 16/01/2019 13:01

@Chocolate89 amazing scan pic! how far along are you?

Poppy012 · 16/01/2019 13:58

What a fab picture! Xx

sacrecoeur0712 · 16/01/2019 14:15

@Chocolate89 that really is a beautiful clear scan pic 😍

Chocolate89 · 16/01/2019 14:30

Thanks ladies! 😊😊 I'm 11+4 but she reckons I might be a bit further as uterus is about an inch above the pelvis. I have a detailed scan in 2 weeks time so will get accurate measurements then!

marajade12 · 16/01/2019 15:24

What a lovely scan pic @Chocolate89 😀

Kariana · 16/01/2019 16:14

Lovely clear scan picture Chocolate. The legs look really long compared to what I saw on my scan. It's amazing how fast they grow!

abw94 · 16/01/2019 17:49

@Chocolate89 what a great scan picture! Bet you're pleased 😃

I felt very smug the other day and thought I had overcome the sickness by eating at certain times... well I've proven myself wrong and felt sick sick 9am last night. Great!
Can't wait for the sickness and cramps to go but I do feel reassured all is ok (fingers crossed)

Anybody else counting down the days until the 12 week scan?!

milly2000 · 16/01/2019 18:27

@Chocolate89 that scan is amazing!! 11 days until my scan not that I'm counting!

Right ladies big question! Glastonbury 2019 anyone got tickets?
I've been twice before and we have tickets for this year I will be 33 weeks pregnant all being well! Anyone done anything like this before so pregnant?

ss3ajb · 16/01/2019 18:45

@Chocolate89 what a beautiful picture so clear!

I have had a tsunami of hormones hit me today tearful before work and later after work in sainsburys aisle culminating in full crying driving out of sainsburys and sobbing on the sofa for 30 mins at home - no idea why some mild worries re first baby, general coping, will they be ok at scan etc but no more than any other day - then felt guilty for crying and felt like a terrible mum before the baby is even here 🙁 Ironically felt much better after sobbing session so I guess was helpful but just came out of no where especially as really want my little bean - crazy crazy hormones 😣

Hope everyone had a better day than me! 😘
