A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

@scotsbaby2 thank you, looking forward to sharing our experiences over the coming months

starryeyed13 · 13/01/2019 22:27

@pixietheginger how strange! Maybe you're having a girl 😂 I went off veggies for a while but am back on them now.

Rachellev · 13/01/2019 23:07

Hi I'm 9 and 4 and my sickness symptoms have drastically reduced. Is this normal anyone else has it? Boobs still sore a bit nervous this is my first! Thanks in advance

Cw03 · 13/01/2019 23:21

Just joined Mumsnet!! I’m currently 10+4 due 7th August with my first baby! Very exciting but scary!! Hoping the sickness will end soon!

Spongeb0b · 13/01/2019 23:48

Thanks @scots. @starry I remember completely going off coffee, vegetables and anything spicy and craving chicken and cola bottle sweets neither of which I could eat being veggie 😂 I haven't eaten chicken in 20 years but I would find myself staring at chicken sandwiches in works canteen! This time I'm the same with the spicy stuff and veg and I'm just craving carbs like crazy. Then about 10 mins after eating them it's back to the nausea/vomiting sadly

Spongeb0b · 13/01/2019 23:51

Hi @Cw03 Smile

UnicornDust17 · 14/01/2019 06:46

@Rachellev yes I think a few of us have experienced that, I know this thread moves so fast but if you read a couple of pages back (it may be a few actually!!) someone posted some really helpful info..... Smile

How are you feeling today?

ScotsBaby2 · 14/01/2019 07:06

Morning all! I can ring up today to find out when my scan appointment is!! Hopefully not too long! I definitely have a bump now, the bottom of my tummy is rounded and firm, and still pokes out even when lying down so I think that's it!! Thank God it's the weather for baggy knitwear and coats!!

Whoopsies · 14/01/2019 09:13

Scan is 31st Jan, I'll be 13 weeks exactly! Can't wait now!

marajade12 · 14/01/2019 09:20

My 12 week scan is 23rd Jan so not long to go. I’ll be 11+5. Starting to feel very nervous as that’s when I had bad news last time.

Thought my nausea had really settled down this past week or so but I was back hugging the bowel this morning. Thank god for being able to work from home 🤢

CalmerComber · 14/01/2019 09:38

Morning all, from the bathroom floor as usual. I’m off work. Back to the dr this morning to see if I can get more drugs. The Ondansetron working reasonably well for sickness but not touching nausea. And then there’s the fatigue 😴😴😴😴

sunshine1987 · 14/01/2019 09:39

@rachellev I’m the same, 11 weeks and feel pretty normal which of course is worrying me 🙄

starryeyed13 · 14/01/2019 09:45

@Rachellev I am 9 weeks today and began feeling virtually normal about 10 days or so ago. It got me really worried but I had a scan last Monday and all was still well. I think it's actually quite normal for symptoms to come and go (that's what my midwife told me!) but it can be worrying, especially when other people still have such strong symptoms. Just enjoy it while it lasts is my advice!

pixietheginger · 14/01/2019 09:50

@Noopey hope your scan goes well today, keeping everything crossed x

clairelee17 · 14/01/2019 10:10

Yep, my symptoms have subsided and I'm nearly 11 weeks. Really disconcerting when you feel normal!! :)

LauraBrown1 · 14/01/2019 10:12

I'm due August 17th 😊😊

LauraBrown1 · 14/01/2019 10:16

Could I ask a quick question for all you ladies around the 9 week mark?
Has anyone had their pregnancy symptoms suddenly stop? Since week 6 I've had sickness feeling but not actually being sick. Really bad headaches on a morning like I have a hangover and my body feels all weak and tired to the point it hurts to lift my head off the pillow and also cramping in my lower abdomen and (tmi) also in the vagina. Like sharp pains.
This has suddenly all stopped for the past week and I'm a little concerned. Is this normal? Any help ladies xxxxx

Hortonlovesahoo · 14/01/2019 10:21

@CalmerComber: hope the drs goes well. I've been nursing sick bags all morning

@ noopey: good luck today!

QueenofFox · 14/01/2019 10:31

Welcome newbies! Since 9 weeks my symptoms have come and gone - couple of days feel fine then have a couple of days of feeling exhausted and rough- rather than permanently rough. I've had a few days of feeling clear-headed and good which is really weird as feeling rough had definitely become quite normal. I do worry though as well that this means this have gone wrongs can only wait.

I have a NIPT blood test today which is a genetic screening blood test for those which known conditions, it will tell me if it's a boy or a girl as that's relevant, but I don't know how long I have to wait for results - it might be a couple of weeks.

Had a night out on Saturday and Dry Jan phenomenon has come in a very handy excuse!

Rachellev · 14/01/2019 10:33

Hey everyone thanks for your replies symptoms all returned feeling more awful than ever

Hortonlovesahoo · 14/01/2019 10:43

@queenoffox: I've heard that they'll be delivered within a week. I'm jealous that you can find out the gender. Where I am they explicitly won't tell the gender so we need to wait. We're also having NIPT.

QueenofFox · 14/01/2019 11:11

@Hortonlovesahoo oh really? That's great! Online suggests two weeks which is a long time but I haven't been told anything! When is yours? If you don't mind me asking is yours also related to known condition? It is a real worry. Hope it goes smoothly for you.

We have to find out the sex because there's a different pathways of test/treatment because the genetic disorder plays out differently with X or Y chromosome, so they'd have to go against a policy on this (we might have one, I'm not sure). I'm being tested solely to find out the sex to then decide next steps. Will also have cvs/amnio at 16 wks. I'd want to find out at 20 wks anyway just so I can tell my two daughters and sort clothes. Couldn't wait till the end! Does feel like a potential piece of nice news in the middle of worrying news!

Jelliestogether · 14/01/2019 11:13

Welcome all the newbies.

My midwife said to try not taking the multivitamins, instead just take folic acid and vitamin d as the multivitamins can make some feel really sick. This has definitely helped my nausea, although hasn't gone completely. Thought I'd mention it incase it helps someone else!

Got my scan on the 24th, my letter says I must have my pregnancy notes but the midwife won't give me mine until 30th!

Horton · 14/01/2019 11:14

Please can people be aware that unless you use a poster's full name when you use eg @Spongeb0b you must use the poster's full name, otherwise it potentially gets sent to a completely random person. I actually find getting notifications about pregnancy threads really upsetting for a variety of reasons. I wish I could turn them off just for this username which gets them quite frequently. Sorry to be miserable on your thread but please think about it - using part of the name obviously won't work. How would the system know if it was Horton1, Horton2 or Horton3?
