Part 3 already!

A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

moncwf i had spd in pregnancies 2, 3 and 4 so i am expecting it!

Bakingabean · 13/01/2019 18:16

@curlywurlywooim one day behind you! 11+4 today. Im jealous that you haven't had any nausea though! Mine is just starting to subside. Ug.

@cobblestones I've been getting the odd little twinge but mostly only if I roll over to vigorously in bed or stretch to reach something.

Hortonlovesahoo · 13/01/2019 18:19

@bakingabean: I get similar pains when stretching or rolling over. It makes me wince slightly!

I remember calling my midwife when I was pregnant with my first as noone had told me about the stretching pains and I was petrified that there was something wrong! I didn't realise it was normal until she said Blush

Moncwf · 13/01/2019 18:24

@IVEgottheDECAF oh no! Did you find a support belt helped? I used one for a bit. I just remember by 38 weeks it was really hard to get in and out of bed and I had to be really careful about how I moved my legs to get out. He was 9lbs, and everyone keeps telling me second babies are bigger which is making me nervous.

emma1224 · 13/01/2019 18:28

I also called my midwife about these stretching and weird pains that would come and go she said it was normal and tbh by the time I panicked they where gone
Very weird sensation pregnancy I knew it would be but I didn't realise so much would happen in the first three months

And does anyone else feel like they are showing then suddenly they don't on Friday I had a little bump and then today it doesn't seem there as much I had a panic about that earlier too 🤦🏼‍♀️

IVEgottheDECAF · 13/01/2019 18:28

I think the belt helped a bit but i had to take it easy alot too. If i did too much one day the next day i would be in agony

Cobblestones · 13/01/2019 18:32

I love this group! Your responses are so helpful. So some people feel the uterine stretching / dull period like ache all the time. For others it comes and goes. So hard to tell what is normal what isn’t. One thing is certain though. We find ways to worry about every little thing whether present, absent or intermittent. That’s probably the only constant. Hence ever so grateful for this group.

EverythingNow · 13/01/2019 18:57

@Moncwf and @ivegotthedecaf I had spd with dc2 and 3. Had to go to group physio - total rubbish! with DC2 but thankfully got 1-1 physio with DC3. I'm expecting it again but you've got to hope! also with 2&3 I had a desk job and with dc3 went on mat leave at 34 or 35wks because I was knackered and driving hurt. This time I work with children so I'm on my feet all day.

I found wearing a massive Tubey grip helped.

clairelee17 · 13/01/2019 19:01

I'm not entirely sure I've felt these stretching pains or cramping pains yet. All I know is when I do stretch or move too quickly doing something to my core, then it feels quite a strain and I do end up wincing. Wouldn't call it pain then though, more likely pulling and then it settles were 30 seconds to a minute. I don't know whether I'm talking about the same thing, but they only happen when I'm straining or stretching, rather than just coming on when I'm idle if you know what I mean.

Curlywurlywoo · 13/01/2019 19:57

@Bakingabean have you had a scan yet?? my midwife said I could still get nausea, I’m hoping I’ve escaped! when I told mum I was pregnant she was like “aren’t you sick??” I know I’m really fortunate not to have sickness, but it just means I have to look harder for other symptoms! The night before I took the test I was lying in bed and kept sniffing as I had a metallic smell/taste and thought I was getting a nose bleed and thought it was very odd 😂 as I haven’t had one in years - well I knew why in the morning!
@Cobblestones we live in a really amazing time, being able to chat to other ladies in the same boat! 😃
I’m phoning the hospital tomorrow to chase up when my scan is - 12 weeks on Tuesday and not patient enough to wait for my letter 😩

Nursiemum27 · 13/01/2019 20:24

I had spd really badly with ds3, was practically housebound which with two dc under 3 was not fun!!! Happily as soon as he was born it just disappeared! Hoping I don’t get it this time round as wont be able to take the extra time off work

Spongeb0b · 13/01/2019 20:32

Hi everyone, I'm due Aug 27th. Nice to meet you all. Im moving house tomorrow and man has it been hard work. I moved when I was 8 months pg with my first and it was a doddle. 8 weeks pg with fatigue and morning sickness? Shoot me now! GrinShock

Bakingabean · 13/01/2019 20:35

@curlywurlywoo my scan is Friday 18th. So I’ll be 12+3. The hospital have been pretty good at booking my appointments quickly, I had my booking I appt at 6 and a bit weeks. I think its because I am recovering from an injury that they deemed me higher risk?
When did you get referred/self refer? I hope you get it sorted out!

@Hontonlovesahoo I can only describe it as the feeling I (used to) get after doing too many core exercises! (It’s been a while since I’ve done any though!)

Hortonlovesahoo · 13/01/2019 20:39

@spongeb0b - welcome to the thread! You have my respect moving when nauseous. It's horrid!

Spongeb0b · 13/01/2019 20:48

Thanks @horton we've been trying to move for a year it's been the most horrific timing 🙈 I think this is the hardest stage when you aren't showing and haven't told anyone yet and and are trying to act normally but feel like you are dying 😂 I could see my mum looking at me today with raised eyebrows when I'd pack say one box then have a rest, pack another then need to eat stuff/have yet another wee 😂 she must have been thinking bloody hell why isn't she just getting on with it! Feel like I've got the flu! Really hope it improves soon! X

Spongeb0b · 13/01/2019 20:49

Good luck to everyone with their upcoming scans. I haven't booked my booking in yet I really should get a move on

starryeyed13 · 13/01/2019 21:22

Ok, slightly weird one, but has anybody else had any specific food aversions? I have completely gone off chicken (which I usually love!) to the point when DH suggested Nando's the other day when I couldn't be bothered to cook I thought I was going to hurl! Have just googled this and apparently there's an old wives tale that you if you go off chicken you're more likely to have a boy!

Moncwf · 13/01/2019 21:26

@EverythingNow tubey grip sounds a good idea. The belt was a bit cumbersome and velcro bits got stuck to clothing. Do you remember where you got it from?
I'm already avoiding lifting DS as much as possible, I'm a bit apprehensive about being big again.

Spongeb0b · 13/01/2019 21:26

@starry I seem to have gone off anything that isn't stodge! So I'm craving stuff that I normally avoid eating too much of - chips, bread, pizza, pasta. I normally love Thai curry and when dh brought some for a treat yesterday I couldn't touch it. Your boy theory is interesting - I have a boy and I'm a veggie. When I was pregnant I craved chicken in a big way Grin

Curlywurlywoo · 13/01/2019 21:38

@Bakingabean and @Spongeb0b I only had my booking appt last week when I was 11+1! I had phoned the docs to ask to be referred to midwife just before Christmas but think they were busy and it got lost in translation. So last Wednesday I had booking appt and she sent a fax off to the hospital, I’ll probably have a letter this week but as I’m 12 weeks this week there’s only 14 days left in which I can have all the screenings, so I’m quite eager to badger them and get the date in my diary and arrange time off etc Grin I had to change doctor due to house move before Christmas so it was all a bit muddled really Smile

pixietheginger · 13/01/2019 21:41

@starryeyed13 I have gone off almost all foods except chicken and yogurt! And I hated chicken before getting pregnant, so weird. Bit worried I haven't been able to eat a single vegetable for weeks now, but midwife didn't seem too worried

EverythingNow · 13/01/2019 21:42

@moncwf I was given it by the physio.

ScotsBaby2 · 13/01/2019 21:45

@Teachermummy83 welcome. I have no symptoms either but had ALL the symptoms with my first pregnancy. I have my booking in tomorrow when I'll be 9+4 and I'm going to tell my midwife my concerns. I hope she puts my mind at ease but I've been very worried since I got my bfp. You aren't alone!

Interesting @Spongeb0b - did you have any specific cravings or aversions when you were pregnant with your son? I find the googling hilarious - so many funny suggestions and theories 😂

ScotsBaby2 · 13/01/2019 21:53

@Foodie68 @ABearandABump and @Spongeb0b welcome to the group!
