Part 3 already!

A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

@sacrecoeur0712 it’s infuriating! I know I need to eat some green veg but I can’t even cope with the smell of it cooking! I’ve found a recipe that I want to make which so far the thought of hasn’t made me feel ill so I’m going to give it a go tonight. I just want to enjoy food again! And get a good nights sleep!

How are people feeling this morning? Nausea not set in yet but I’m seriously tired!

EverythingNow · 12/01/2019 08:58

@scotsbaby2 at both 6wks and 9wks exactly I had really sharp pains on my pubic bone (in the middle). At 6 weeks it was 2 or 3 sharp pains. At 9 weeks it was all night and into the day. But stopped the next day. I've had none since and never any bleeding, so I have to hope all's ok (10+5 now)

abw94 · 12/01/2019 09:03

@ScotsBaby2 did they give you a number for early triage? My midwife gave me the number for my hospital I will eventually give birth in and there was a number to call outside of mon - fri?

UnicornDust17 · 12/01/2019 10:01

@scotsbaby2 do you have a number to call? they gave my a 24/7 pregnancy helpline to call with any worries, also my work has private healthcare with a 24/7 GP number which I've also been calling.. . do you have anything similar? When's your scan? it's so hard not to worry.

Curlywurlywoo · 12/01/2019 11:29

Is it ok if I join in? Late to the party I know but I’m due August 2nd! 11 weeks 4 days now and I’m awaiting my scan appointment! (I left it late getting a booking appointment!) this is my first baby and I’ve had no sickness which I know is lucky but on the other hand it would be somewhat comforting to have Blush

Cobblestones · 12/01/2019 13:30

@scotsbaby how are you feeling now?

The pain you describe near the pubic bone is exactly the pain I had for days. When I first got it I was about 8+4 and then I had a scan a few days later and all was ok. The pain went away then came back three days later and was there for another few days. I spoke to three different health professionals and all three convinced me that as long as the the pain doesn’t seem ORGANISED ie one sided/static, increasing in intensity; and there is no bleeding it should be fine. Apparently some women feel different kids of aches and pains that others don’t. I had this sharp pinching pain that moved around and really scared me but hopefully it was nothing. Pls try not to worry. Try and lie down or stretch out on a sofa and keep a pillow under your knees to take the pressure off your uterus.

Any chance you’re gassy? I know it doesn’t feel like gas pain but the gas could be pushing around causing the pain which is what one of three doctors said was a possibility.

Moncwf · 12/01/2019 13:56

@scotsbaby2 can you call 111? They should be able to advise you of where is appropriate to go for advice.
@Cobblestones that's interesting. I have some one sided pain, but I recall having it in my first pregnancy too. I have a pelvic issue and apparently pelvic congestion so I think it's that, alongside constipation (pregnancy is so glamorous) but I think I may need to ask for medical advice as it's worrying me a bit. Unfortunately DH is working all weekend so not sure what I'd do with DS if I did need to be seen.

ScotsBaby2 · 12/01/2019 14:06

Hi ladies
Thanks for the messages. I did wonder about gas. The pain has eased off just now just I'm running after a toddling baby most of the day. I've had increased discharge but no bleeding so I will assume everything is ok.
I've not been given a number for out of hours. I think it's just the labour ward I would call. Midwife in 48 hours so I just need to be a big girl until then.
Flu jag today just to add to the mix. Now me and DD are having our second nap of the day :-)

@xLauraa. Just typed your name in the search bar to see how you were doing! Congratulations! I'm so glad your DP's treatment worked!

I had my baby on Christmas Day at 32+6! Hes doing ok but still in the NICU. I had a very bad pregnancy and I'm still very poorly.

Apologies to everyone for hijacking your thread!!

PinkLady89x · 12/01/2019 15:08

Hi @ScotsBaby2
It's really hard to be grown up and stop worrying! I'm a nervous wreck. I've had lower back aches and I think it's due to the way I sleep on my side. I've been putting a pillow in between my legs at night and it's really helped.
After my panic the other day with a tiny amount of brown, I've not had anything else like that. Just white and not too much - is that normal?
As for aches in the pelvic area, I've got those this morning and I'm worried as it feels not too dissimilar to period pains. I keep getting like a pinching feeling too that is quite quick but a very different feeling to the ache.
I think I'm going to try and get a scan this week! Driving me crazy

starryeyed13 · 12/01/2019 15:47

@ScotsBaby2 you are much more of a grown up girl than me! Take it easy for the next couple of days and hopefully things will settle x

starryeyed13 · 12/01/2019 15:50

@PinkLady89x I completely understand how tough it can be. I felt similarly anxious last week and ended up going to the EPU which I found reassuring - although the worry does come back after a few days!

I also have had a bit of white discharge but that's about it. I did google it and that is quite normal.

Cobblestones · 12/01/2019 16:49

I did read that discharge is quite normal as long as it’s not too foul smelling and doesn’t have some weird colour. I find the what to expect app quite helpful as based on how far along you are it tells you various new symptoms that might develop. I had a nosebleed which scared me but it popped up on the app as one of the many new things one could experience as early as first tri.

Hi @moncwf - what does pelvic issue mean? Just curious

1Bobbinwinder · 12/01/2019 17:29

@scotsbaby how is your toddler napping twice a day?!?! Mine has just dropped his at 18 months...killer

xLauraa · 12/01/2019 17:54

@LookingAtTheStars89 ahhhh bless you! I sent you a PM a few weeks ago, or at least I think it sent 😂

Aw 🤞🏼 everything willl be ok for you! What a shame that you had such a bad pregnancy ☹️ I'm sure now with your baby there you wouldn't change it! Hope the hosp are looking after you and baby well!

Thankyou! Yes we went back to the consultant a couple days ago and after 6 months of treatment his SA showed NORMAL sperm!!!! 0 - 21million in 6 months! Amazing I was sooooooo shocked!!!! Xx

xLauraa · 12/01/2019 17:56

@PinkLady89x I get the "pinching" feeling from time to time at the moment along with the odd ache! I asked about it at my US and they said it's ok and nothing to worry about x

RaindropsRoses · 12/01/2019 18:41

@1Bobbinwinder nooooo! Mine is on 1 nap but still having 1.5-2hrs. I'm counting on it being on of the pluses of a small age gap that he will still nap when baby is here, don't dash my dreams haha

EverythingNow · 12/01/2019 18:56

@raindropsroses that's why my double buggy was a lifesaver. My youngest are 17m apart and dd2 was about 18m when she started climbing out of a cot - which was the end of naps regardless of how tired she was (and in need sleep generally) unless she was in a buggy on a dog walk. I got another 6m of naps out of her!

Hortonlovesahoo · 12/01/2019 18:57

Hi all, can I join in? Due August 5th. I've had the dating scan and have been under the hospital due to my infertility issues/miscarriage with my previous pregnancy.

I'm fully in the swings of nausea/vomiting but we're not telling anyone until we've had all the checks done.

Ducksandacorns · 12/01/2019 19:10

Happy Saturday all.

Why oh why am I so bloated? Why do I have spots in my hairline? Why am I eating all of the carbs?!

Of course the happy answer to my woes is due to pregnancy hormones but goodness me do I feel less than awesome today.

PinkLady89x · 12/01/2019 19:14

@Ducksandacorns don't even start with the carbs! Somehow I've put on more than half a stone and the bad part is that I'm feeling so nauseous that I'm not even particularly enjoying the food! I just can't stop eating. On my way to pick up Pizza Hut as we speak 😂

Ducksandacorns · 12/01/2019 19:15

@PinkLady89x ooooh, enjoy. I have food envy. I have completely gone off the idea of the Chinese I have en route...

milly2000 · 12/01/2019 19:22

Has anyone ventured into the world of maternity wear yet, I'm only 10 weeks but I'm struggling.

I'm usually a size 6-8 so I'm not sure if that why but I need to get some bigger jeans. I'm not sure if to buy a size up or bit the bullet and try maternity?

ScotsBaby2 · 12/01/2019 19:47

Chilled out day today. Chippy tea tonight. Hopefully bath and early bed for me and the small human.

@Ducksandacorns your post made me smile - I have not felt anywhere near awesome in the last 9 weeks 🤣 I never knew early pregnancy was this tough am a walking queasy zombie most of the time lol

Tried to cook chicken fajitas tonight for dinner 10 mins had to call DH in to finish suddenly felt extremely sick and apparently went a funny green colour - had to sit by the back door until cooking smell had disappeared - o well at least I got out of cooking 😂

Went to mothercare today to browse at things - trying hard not to buy anything until had the scan - this is our first baby - I felt very overwhelmed by the sheer volume and choice of stuff and had to go to a cafe to sit down muttering it's ok I can do this under my breath 🤣 Hope everyone had a good day and not too poorly x
