A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

@orangefolly I'm so sorry to hear this, I hope you have support around you. Take care of yourself xxx

pixietheginger · 11/01/2019 17:57

@Cobblestones I hope this one is the one for us! When is your booking appointment? Are you on extra drugs because of IVF / PCOS? If so, make sure you mention the whole protocol to the midwife so it's on your notes (she didn't ask and I completely forgot and had to ring her afterwards...my brain is mush!) x

Blueberry2018 · 11/01/2019 18:04

@orangefolly sorry for your sad news. Take care xx

@OctoberGirl91 i'm with you girl. Breaks my heart and makes me realise over and over again how fragile these tiny babies are x

Cobblestones · 11/01/2019 18:05

Thanks @pixie I’ll make sure I tell them all about it. And yes I’m on additional progesterone both cyclogest and the intra muscular injections. Fingers crossed I get to stop them at the 12 week mark.

I’ve been told I should know by mon/tues when I have my appointment which should be either late next week or the week after.

Hope you’re feeling ok xx

Bakingabean · 11/01/2019 18:15

@unicorndust17 it was pretty uneventful in the end! The midwife (I think- it was at a different surgery) was lovely and just explained why they were taking blood (for the chromosomal screening tests) and weighed me and then that was about it!

  • how did yours go?

I’m also very irritable today. I have limited patience for anything at the moment. Is anyone else irrationally angry/ being a grumpy bitch?!

Moncwf · 11/01/2019 18:21

@orangefolly, I'm so sorry for you. I have you have good support around you.

For those feeling anxious, please consider talking to your GP/midwife. Some anxiety is obviously normal but if it's affecting you day to day it's worth looking at, your mental health is important.

@Bakingabean yes! I'm not the most patient at the best of times but am especially irritable at the moment.

Not sure if I'll be high risk, DS ended up with possible GBS+ infection (thankfully caught early so all fine) I know I'll have to have antibiotics if I have a vaginal delivery. I want a C-section anyway so hopefully won't be an issue. 7+1 today and feeling pretty awful.

Cobblestones · 11/01/2019 18:37

@bakingabean how is the nausea today?

I’m quite irritable too. Small things such as weird smells set me off. And unwanted advice! Urgh

ScotsBaby2 · 11/01/2019 18:56

I'm pretty irritable if I haven't had enough sleep. And by enough I mean 9/10 hours. I'm not getting even close to that just now. My poor fiancé just said "am I getting a kiss or will you bite my head off?" When I gave him a kiss he looked scared I might actually bite his head off lol

I bloody hate the first trimester.

sacrecoeur0712 · 11/01/2019 18:57

I’m feeling pretty irritable too, and very unmotivated to do anything. I can’t seem to summon up the enthusiasm to do anything! Just feel tired, nauseous and rubbish. Moan over Smile

ScotsBaby2 · 11/01/2019 19:01

Oh and for all those with guessing relatives, my MIL and SIL had a huge barny with me when pregnant with DD. We put pale bllye wallpaper up in a room already painted blue then bought a navy pram. They said we knew it was a boy and we're being selfish not telling them. We had a girl. We won't be finding out this time but I'm going to tell people it's a giraffe.

Also prepare for the "oh we knew you were pregnant. I had an idea at new year"
"Oh I knew you were pregnant at Christmas"
"Well I knew in the summer would would be pregnant now".

Oh I hate the bloody predictions and my body suddenly being public property.

OP posts:
Bakingabean · 11/01/2019 20:01

@cobblestones it wasn’t so bad today until about 4pm. Still very fussy about food and finding it hard to find things that don’t make me feel ill! How about you?

@scotsbaby2 @sacrecoeur0712 @moncwf I’m so glad I’m not the only one feeling this grumpy. The rage is real!

Only 4 more days until I’m 12 weeks so hoping the second trimester is less angry and less sicky! For everyone else too!

RaindropsRoses · 11/01/2019 20:25

@twitwooo how old is DD? I know they sat no children for scans but my friend took hers as she had no choice and apparently they do make exceptions for young toddlers who don't understand whats happening yet so worth asking. I think its more when they're a bit older and would understand if it was bad news.

I'm hating being near the back when some of you are having scans and appointments already! Not even 8 weeks yet and the thought of this nausea going on for ages yet and another month til my scan is crap.

Cobblestones · 11/01/2019 20:33

@bakingabean I was doing quite ok till about an hour ago. I had my flu jab this evening so I don’t know if it’s the jab that’s make me feel worse. All of a sudden I don’t feel like eating even the 3-4 foods I can usually stomach.

Twitwooo · 11/01/2019 20:43

@RaindropsRoses she's almost two. The leaflet I got about it says they don't allow under 12s as they are a 'distraction to the sonographer'! We will show up together anyway as there's nothing else to do and hope that husband and dd are allowed in, but I equally need to be prepared for them to be asked to wait outside I guess. And having a 10 week scan should hopefully give more certainty that everything is ok in there and won't be walking into it blind on my own/ with dd if it is not good news.

I too am due very late aug so feel same as you :) but we're getting there ...

Bakingabean · 11/01/2019 21:06

@cobblestones I hope it passes soon for you! Hopefully a good nights sleep and you'll feel better in the morning?

I ended up buying myself a pot of "healthy" soup for dinner which was actually not so bad taste wise but it had these beans in it and the texture of them was very off putting so I sat there muttering "fucking beans" under my breath as I picked them all out. There were bloody loads if them. Just glad DP is away for work so he didn't have to see me swearing at soup.

ss3ajb · 11/01/2019 22:02

@orangefolly I am so very sorry for your loss - I hope you have lots of love and support it's awful news 💐 Take care x

Cobblestones · 11/01/2019 23:20

@bakingabean too funny 😂😂 who would have thought a bowl of soup haha

Ladies I’ve been told by more than one person that fresh coconut water is great in pregnancy. A bit of a pain to cut through but the taste is yumm despite the nausea.

ScotsBaby2 · 12/01/2019 01:31

I've got lower back pain and an ache above my pubic line on my tummy. I'm not feeling very positive especially with the complete lack of other symptoms. I've managed to distract myself from my negative bubble with work all week but now I'm regretting not phoning the midwife in the week. Our PAU is only open Monday to Friday. 🤔 not quite sure what to do.

OP posts:
Chocolate89 · 12/01/2019 03:24

@scotsbaby2 aches and pains so so common in pregnancy! It's often the uterus growing and stretching so a good sign. Unless you have bleeding try not to worry. Also symptoms come and go, especially nearing the end of the 1st trimester. I know it's so easy to panic, but try not to. It is hopefully just your little bean growing strong xxxx

ScotsBaby2 · 12/01/2019 04:12

@Chocolate89 I know but these pains are so different to the stretching I'm used to. I'm probably overthinking it but argh! I hate this time.

@ orangefolly sorry to hear your news 😞

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one awake 😫 I feel so sick and my boobs hurt so much. I'm lay on the sofa so I don't wake my dp. I've been off work sick for last 2 days . I only started on Monday! Not good. I emailed my new boss and explained everything to him yesterday as I felt it was better for them to know the real reason I was off sick rather than them think I was not committed and already having sick days. He seemed to be ok about it. I also got offered another job yesterday 🙄 I had the interview at the beginning of December so it was before I even got pregnant. So I have a backup if my new job doesn't go well with the pregnancy thing! 😂 I have the Drs this morning for a booking appt. Hopefully Dr will give me something for my sickness. Then I have the scan and consultant on Monday 😬x

Bakingabean · 12/01/2019 05:33

Insomnia strikes again! Been awake since 3:30am. Have finally given up trying to sleep.

@scotsbaby2 i would say try not to over think it, but then I’d have to try and take my own advice and do the same!

sacrecoeur0712 · 12/01/2019 06:47

@bakingabean I can totally relate on the food thing, and the sleeplessness. I just don’t really fancy any foods at all - I’m finding it’s particularly bad at dinner time when I’m starving but just don’t want to eat whatever I’ve just cooked. I normally love food so not being able to eat is just adding to my misery! I’ve been awake since 5.30 too...

CalmerComber · 12/01/2019 08:12

These early mornings are an absolute killer. I normally go to bed by 10 because of hyperemesis fatigue then I need a wee or a puke about 4:30/5 then I can’t get comfy again because of lower back pain! So I’ve been napping with DD when I can to try and et some more sleep which means the house is in a state because naptime is the best time to get it tidy or do some washing without a tiny “helper”!

My antisickness meds seem to be working ok on the actual sickness but the nausea is still awful. Might go back to the doc if no improvement by Monday.

QueenofFox · 12/01/2019 08:12

Glad to hear some of the 12wk scans coming through. Feels like an age to wait for mine and time is crawling. I'm so worried at the moment as symptoms easing off but only 9 weeks. Just wishing time away!
