Part 3 already!

A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

@clairelee17 it’s drving me nuts! I need to still googling percentages of success after an 8 week scan and try and relax. I’m sure it’s not helping my already mucked up sleep pattern! Arrrgh. Putting phone down now!

emma1224 · 10/01/2019 19:25

@pixietheginger I've been put on high risk consultant led too
Haven't been told much apart from I won't be having big gaps between seeing people , she explained that I'll be monitored more closely to ensure I'm okay and baby is okay with more scans and meetings every 4 weeks as well as our usual meetings and scans x

QueenofFox · 10/01/2019 20:09

@emma1224 @pixietheginger are you high-risk coz of ivf? Hope all okay

Loving all the scans. Nervous for mine in Feb, this month is crawling by and I'm so cold and tired and sick. Work is a struggle right now, so tempting to call in sick.

I had to tell a school mum friend today. They invited us skiing with them at half term, with free accommodation, I'd agreed but then found out I was pregnant. Had to come clean when she asked me about flights today, now worried I've jinxed it all!

clairelee17 · 10/01/2019 20:11

@Bakingabean I know what you mean! And what are the results of your research?! Only tell me if they're good numbers! Xx

pixietheginger · 10/01/2019 20:19

@QueenofFox I'm high risk because a combo of MC, PCOS and IVF...all the fun! But if that means I'll be seen more often and have more scans then I'm not complaining!

Work is a struggle for me too, thankfully I can WFH whenever I need to, otherwise I don't know how I'd do it as so tired and nauseous all the time

Bakingabean · 10/01/2019 20:47

@clairelee17 it seems that you have a 99.4% chance of continuing a pregnancy with a healthy scan at 10weeks. Which sounds pretty good to me! And 98% after an 8weeks scan.

Don’t take as gospel though, that’s just from googling!

clairelee17 · 10/01/2019 21:07

@Bakingabean of course! But thanks for the info xx

emma1224 · 10/01/2019 21:35

@QueenofFox high risk due to my bmi and bp
I was hoping I wouldn't be because I was more worried that I had done something wrong but midwife had to refer and was reassuring about it 🤷🏼‍♀️x

Ninunina · 11/01/2019 05:33

Another high risk pregnancy here! I'm high risk because of a number of things, mainly a ruptured uterus and torn cervix after DD2 & 2 previous c sections. I'm likely to be hospitalized for the end of my pregnancy with an ELCS at 36 weeks (depending on how well my cervix behaves). Kinda scary when I think about it.

ScotsBaby2 · 11/01/2019 07:33

It's FRIDAY! What's everyone's weekend plans?
Anyone have booking in appointments or scans?

OP posts:
UnicornDust17 · 11/01/2019 07:34

@pixietheginger high risk here too and consultant led due to previous preterm birth (bad grade placenta previa with DS1), low birth eight of DS1 (he was born at 30 weeks as I basically couldn't stop bleeding), reoccurring MCs, my age, and currently under reoccurring misscarriage clinic so I'm on steroids, blood thinning injections, progesterone and a whole host of other high dose vitamins to try and help save this one. Confused

It means you'll be kept a close eye on, checked up more and have extra scans.

Congrats and welcome x

Twitwooo · 11/01/2019 08:21

Today's plan is to try and tidy up this filth of a house. My booking in isn't until the 21st!

Have realised in recent days that my first scan is very likely to be when my parents are away and means I'll have no one to look after my dd but my dh so I might have to go on my own. Really don't like that idea so am now considering a private scan at about 10 weeks so we can both be there and that should make the 12 week one less intimidating.
Will ask midwife if there's any other solution she can think of and will decide then...

FirstTimer88 · 11/01/2019 08:24

Have a scan tomorrow. Only 8 weeks but booked a private one a while ago to reassure myself (I hope it does anyway!). Was going to cancel after EPU scan last week but have had a bit more spotting so decided to keep it. 🤞 I have barely any symptoms which I guess is a good thing but doesn’t help me to “feel pregnant” if that makes sense!

UnicornDust17 · 11/01/2019 08:35

Bloody test for me today as my booking in appointment was before 10 weeks. No other plans @ScotsBaby2 how about you?

I'm just glad no work for two days....

Noopey · 11/01/2019 08:54

Morning all.

I’m currently 10+4 weeks. Have just been to the loo and there was a bit of reddishness to the toilet roll. Not very strong, but definitely there. It’s my second wee of the day and there was nothing “wrong” with the earlier wee.

I already have two kids, nothing like this came up in either of their pregnancies, and I’ve had no miscarriages. Help. I’m doing my best to not panic but I just want to cry. What should I be doing right now?

pixietheginger · 11/01/2019 09:09

@Noopey my doc said that spotting in early pregnancy is a lot more common than people think, but I know how scary it is (I've been having it on and off). I'd ring your EPAU, they might be able to scan you to reassure you (although some might not if it's only spotting rather than bleeding) x

Noopey · 11/01/2019 09:26

I’ve called my midwife team who do say it sounds more like spotting then anything serious. Under there advice; sanitary towel is on. Will monitor over next few hours. Will call assessment team if anything gets worse/doesn’t improve. 🤞

MrsH1990 · 11/01/2019 09:30

@Noopey my sister in law bled a lot of her pregnancy and had a beautiful boy in Dec 2018! It is a lot more common than people realise, but I know If it was me I'd be worrying too! Just take it easy and If a sanitary towel gets filled definitely contact them again, contact them if you have cramps or anything too x hope it's nothing lovely xxx try and stay positive xxx

Bakingabean · 11/01/2019 09:31

@unicorndust17 im having a blood test today too. The screening one. Surgery is rammed and already 15 minutes behind so no idea how long I’ll be here for. And in my usual typical style my water bottle leaked in my bag and I now have damp maternity notes. Humph.

ss3ajb · 11/01/2019 10:24

I do not know how I made it to work today could not get out of the bathroom this morning went to bed 9pm last night and night before and still woke up feeling like I have been hit by a train nausea every present o dear - all be worth it in the end I hope the myth of 'blooming' in trimester 2 is true lol hope everyone had a good day at least it's Friday ☺️

Ninunina · 11/01/2019 11:06

Hi @Noopey I'm sorry to hear that you're worried, I wouldn't worry too much if it's only slightly reddish. See how you get on today, if it increases make sure to get seen to, but hopefully it's just a bit of an irritation or your body having a clean out. I've had a bit of bloody mucous this week too (10+6). Mine seems to come only when passing a bowel movement. I'm wondering if it's linked somehow. I'm still quite anxious when I see something, but it hasn't been enough to warrant getting seen to again (I've already had 2 scans because of it and all has been well).

Noopey · 11/01/2019 11:11

So. Nothing on sanitary towel but on my last wee there was a blob of blood in the loo. Called up assessment unit who referred me to early assessment. They’ve just called back and I’m booked in for a scan on Monday as they are fully booked today and tomorrow. Obviously if it gets worse, blood or pain wise, they’ve said to call them or I can just go straight to A&E.

I just want to cry. This one was a long time in the making. It’s horrible knowing it might not make it. Trying not to cry but think that’s wasted energy. All plans today are cancelled. I’m lying down while the joys of paw patrol are keeping my 3 yr old entertained.

bubblegumunicorn · 11/01/2019 11:37

I looked at the percentages too and it said once you have seen a heart beat the chance of miscarrying is around 3% I felt so much better after my 9 week scan at the EPU. I just want to get to 12 weeks now I'm 10 + 6 today and I feel this next week will drag! My mum has also decided I am having a boy and keeps saying your son! Has anyone else already got people guessing the gender?

avacadooo · 11/01/2019 11:58

@bubblegumunicorn my sister is dead set I'm having a girl. She apparently has this feeling.😂

marajade12 · 11/01/2019 12:04

@Noopey sorry you are going though this. At least you will get answers from the scan. I have been spotting since 7 weeks, now 9+6 today. I was scanned at the EPU at 8 weeks and they saw a small bleed next to the sac but other that that baby looked fine.

Keeping everything crossed for a good outcome for you 💐💐
