A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

@Bakingabean I had a wave of it sat and Sunday and then some brown spotting Tuesday morning. Nausea gone again now and all good when gp referred me to epu. I was around 11 weeks too with the bout of sickness x

clairelee17 · 09/01/2019 19:45

Hi all, hoping someone might be able to shine a light on my situation. So I had my booking in appointment last Wednesday where I had the usual blood and urine samples taken. I received a letter in the post this morning asking me to return to the clinic to provide another urine sample. I'm really anxious now, and wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

When I had previous pregnancy, I got to my booking in appointment on a Friday morning, started bleeding that night and miscarried by Sunday. A few days after I received a similar letter from the midwife asking me to return for repeat blood tests, so it must have been clear that my HCG levels had dropped then before I got a chance to inform them that I already had miscarried.

So I'm glad I'm not being asked to return for another blood test, but does anyone know why I might have been asked to return for an urine sample? I'm so nervous and anxious now if they've noticed something wrong....

Whoopsies · 09/01/2019 19:47

@KMic another rhesus negative blood type here. I had the anti d injections in my pregnancy with ds, although he was rhesus negative too it turns out so didn't need to worry. The testing babys blood type while you're pregnant is a new thing! So will see what this time brings!

Whoopsies · 09/01/2019 19:49

Also, very grateful for the anti d injections and modern medicine. By great aunt had one baby and then lost 6 more pregnancies all to rhesus disease, but that just doesn't happen these days!

emma1224 · 09/01/2019 19:53

@Kcjoe I ordered those along with gin gins!! Fingers crossed they work x

Moncwf · 09/01/2019 20:03

@clairelee17 sorry you are anxious, I think the things they test urine for are infection, diabetes and protein for pre eclampsia. Way too early for pre eclampsia. I think most likely a UTI or they lost/contaminated your sample and need another. In my first pregnancy they said they'd only call about the downs/Edwards screening if I was very high risk, otherwise they'd write. They rang the next day and left a message, I was really panicking. Turns out the date of birth they'd written on the sample didn't match my notes!

To all those feeling nauseous and worse, you can get medication from your GP if needed.

@Kcjoe I'm also 7 weeks tomorrow, and also suddenly felt much sicker at the weekend. Hope things go well at your next appointment and you can cope with work!

PinkLady89x · 09/01/2019 20:10

Hi ladies,
So I just went to the toilet and noticed a tiny amount of brownish discharge... should I panic? I'll be 7 weeks on Saturday. I'm freaking out now 😳l

RiseYeSunkenShips · 09/01/2019 20:19

@PinkLady89x I think brown discharge is quite normal, if you’re worried there’s no harm ringing your midwife/epu for reassurance!

QueenofFox · 09/01/2019 20:26

@KMic we're having the baby's blood tested too on Monday but for something else. It's essentially what a harmony or NIPT test is, the babies blood mixes with you and so if they take a blood test for you they can separate the two and tell the babies sex, some chromosomal make up and things like blood type. It's a v straight forward test and good to know that you might not have to have the injection if it's the same blood type as you.

sunshine1987 · 09/01/2019 20:26

@emma1224 gin gins are (very expensive) magic!

ScotsBaby2 · 09/01/2019 20:46

@clairelee17 it could be the sample you gave was contaminated or showed slight infection and they want to double check. Could be the sample was lost. I think it will be something simple.

Try not to worry xx

avacadooo · 09/01/2019 20:54

@Cobblestones thanks, luckily the hardcore drugs are working so I haven't been sick for a few days🙌

Anybody who's starting to feel like the can't cope even if it's just the constant nausea go see a gp! I didn't actually realise I had hg until this week!

Also an AB- freak here, get a jag at 28weeks then after birth so any other negative folk out there get use to being a pin cushion 😂 why did dh have to be a positive 😫

Kcjoe · 09/01/2019 21:05

@emma1224 I almost ordered the gin gins! The bin bons seem to be ok. Actually taste nice too!

@Moncwf thank you. It's horrible isn't it. Fine one day and then wham!! 🤮 I'm 7 weeks on Friday. I got my days mixed up x

emma1224 · 09/01/2019 21:22

@sunshine1987 @Kcjoe
defo more expensive but I'm desperate and if they work then I'm more than happy to keep getting them they ain't arriving till next week so I'm suffering till then lol x

Loumayb · 09/01/2019 21:23

Hi
My estimated due date is 26 August.
We are currently nervous as we had a misscarridge a few months ago so if enjoyed a long rest over the xmas period to be back at work today. My boy is 6 and he was a rainbow baby so trying not to get too carried away yet.
Can't belive I'm doing this at 40!
X

Kcjoe · 09/01/2019 21:28

Hello @Loumayb 😁🙋🏼‍♀️ you found us! X

Kcjoe · 09/01/2019 21:29

I have no idea why all those other emoji are there...I only put the waving one!

Rebootandtry · 09/01/2019 22:09

Hi all. I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant (well tomorrow I will be) and I’m still waiting for my scan appointment! Just trying to keep patient lol

Kileah18 · 09/01/2019 22:41

Hi guys checking in I'm 10w2 and got another scan done because from I found out I was pregnant I have developed severe anxiety and not sleeping at nights over worrying 😔 so this has really reassured me! Seen baby's legs and arms moving like crazy and waving at us!
Have my 12 week scan on 28th (I'll be 13 weeks)
Seen you guys talking about bloods earlier I'm one of the weird ones my blood is Rhesus negative! From what I have gathered I'll have to have an anti D injection straight after the birth but it's for 2nd baby??

August 2019 Part 3: nausea, scans and big reveals
Cobblestones · 09/01/2019 23:29

@kileah your scan pic is amazing!! Looks like a proper baby!! Can’t believe it changes so quickly from being a blob just 2-3 weeks earlier.

@avacadoo great the meds are working for you 👍👍

I should be 10+5 and I’ve had one of the toughest nausea/puke days today. I haven’t been back to work since the holidays and hope I can get another sick note. Can’t imagine getting on the train and going into work in this state.

Kileah18 · 09/01/2019 23:47

@Cobblestones I know isn't it crazy the difference 2.5 weeks can make!! Just looking at the early scan pictures now and it didn't look like anything just a blob!!
I feel so sorry for you all with the bad sickness it must be horrific trying to get up and go to work feeling so awful!
I had lost all pregnancy symptoms so that was just one of the things worrying me 🙄 main reason for another scan!
Lady said if I'm stressed baby will be stressed so at-least I can relax now!

I'll post pictures of 1st & 2nd scan, 1st scan 7w 6d and 2nd scan 10w 2D

CalmerComber · 10/01/2019 08:51

Hello all from hospital Sad

When I went to the GP yesterday for anti emetics my urine test showed ++++ ketones, meaning that I was severely dehydrated. I had to run around making arrangements for DD then come in to hospital. I’ve had 6 bags of fluids and some IV anti sickness meds overnight and I’m really hoping I’ll be allowed to go home when the doctors come round later this morning.

Unfortunately had to tell my boss via WhatsApp which isn’t ideal and was quite hard to judge her reaction!

I’m so worried about the baby so I’m going to see if they will scan me while I’m here.

starryeyed13 · 10/01/2019 09:37

Ob @CalmerComber you poor thing. So sorry to hear this but hopefully they will have you back to full health ASAP. Get as much rest as you can and hopefully you will get a scan. Big hugs x

Chocolate89 · 10/01/2019 10:26

Had my scan yesterday @10+4 and little baby growing really well, was jumping about the place! It was so lovely to see. Dh got v emotional as well, we had both been so worried with the pneumonia and constant high temps!
Hope everyone who is suffering with sickness is starting to feel a bit better soon xxxx
