A list of those already on the bus. Welcome to newbies. It's the countdown to 12 week scans. I think I have nearly a month to wait though :-(

@Cobblestones. I was 16 weeks before I could tell with my first...

dottydimples · 06/01/2019 17:26

Hello all,

Here I am, due I think 23rd August. Had an early scan last week as have been bleeding for about 4 weeks but all ok so far as they found a heartbeat. DD is 2 years and 3 months and I had a miscarriage last October, so hoping this one sticks. Last year I had lettz procedure twice, so am being very cautious with this pregnancy!

Been feeling ok until past couple of days - intense nausea and thrown up a few times. Also extremely tired! Already had a nap today!

Looking forward to getting to know you all better and sharing our journeys together. Smile

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/01/2019 17:32

everythingnow im only in first year 😣 have you done modules one at a time or doubled up? I just did one module this time but going to double up next time as ill be on mat leave

PinkLady89x · 06/01/2019 17:34

@IVEgottheDECAF and @EverythingNow I got my masters degree through the OU in 2017. I know how hard it is so I sympathise. Good luck!

Moncwf · 06/01/2019 17:39

@PinkLady89x I get the too much saliva thing. It's horrible. Had to spit in a cup earlier, yuck!

I think I was showing around 15 weeks last time, but probably just looked bloated to everyone else. I'm pretty short in the torso so don't know if that affects it.

Felt movement (a big flip) at 16 weeks when I took my niece on a slide. Then bits on and off from 18 weeks but wasn't confident that I was feeling the right thing till 20 odd weeks.

Moncwf · 06/01/2019 17:49

In fact I remember a lovely thing about the 20 week scan was that I could see I really was feeling the bigger movements.

emma1224 · 06/01/2019 18:00

I got my first appointment with my midwife tomorrow to get my yellow folderrr
Do I need anything? I've wrote down some questions but they didn't tell me anything tbh? Just said would last around 1 hour 15 minutes x

Cobblestones · 06/01/2019 18:02

Thank you for all the responses about when to start expecting any kind of rounding/bump

Welcome to all new joiners. August is definitely going to be very busy 🤞🤞

Legomummy91 · 06/01/2019 18:19

@everythingnow @ivegotthedecaf i’m doing an ou degree too, how funny! I’ve got two tMas due in next week and finding it very difficult to stay motivated with the fatigue and nausea

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/01/2019 18:21

lego are you doing two modules? If so how have you found it?

CalmerComber · 06/01/2019 18:33

Had my booking in appointment this morning with the same lovely MW that I saw when preg with DD. I’ll be consultant-led because of previous EMCS, GD and perinatal mental health issues. I’m ok with it - the hosp where I’ll give birth is lovely but I’m slightly sad I’ll never have the aromatherapy/water birth/home comforts of the local MLU.

I puked twice during my booking in appointment so she saw how bad my sickness is. Unfortunately she couldn’t prescribe anything so I’ll try and make a GP appointment for this week.

Back to work tomorrow after having 2 weeks off and I’ve no idea how I’ll make it through the day without a nap!

Rachellev · 06/01/2019 18:42

Just some advice for everyone I use sickbands whilst it doesn't always help with nausea it definitely helps with puking I have not picked once whilst I have them on xxxx
Hope everyone ok

EverythingNow · 06/01/2019 19:16

@ivegotthedecaf no I've only done one module at a time and it's taken years! But this is the last one thank goodness! Perhaps I could have doubled up at level 1and 2 but I personally would have struggled at level 3, though loads of people do it!

@legomummy91 mines due 10th and I have zero motivation!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 06/01/2019 20:45

I just posted a pic and now I can't see it 🤔 it could just be early movements, but I'm seeing the middwife at 9am tomorrow morning so I'll be able to talk to her. I'm hoping she'll send me to the epu for a scan, but we will see!

Legomummy91 · 06/01/2019 20:57

@ivegotthedecaf I am, it’s my second year but first year full time and honestly I’m starting to think I might have bitten off more than I can chew! I’ve got a 5 year old and I work full time too and everything with all the house work etc is quite overwhelming at times! How’re you getting on?

@everythingnow one of mine is due the 10th! What module are you doing out of interest?

clairelee17 · 06/01/2019 21:09

I'm 9w5d today and the nausea seems to have relieved itself today. It's the first time in weeks I haven't felt sick. Hoping it has passes. Let's see!

PinkLady89x · 06/01/2019 22:27

@clairelee17 that's good to know! Keep us updated if it stays away or comes back because I need something to count down towards 😅. I'm normally such a healthy person and I've never taken a sick day at work (9 years) so I'm really not used to feeling like this 🤢.
I'm really struggling to swallow the vitamins as they're so big! I've only had this nausea for just over a week 😅.

ScotsBaby2 · 06/01/2019 23:06

@PinkLady89x I gave up the pregnacare vitamins and went over to the liquid then eventually just iron water plus folic acid/vit D tablets. Much smaller to take.

RaindropsRoses · 07/01/2019 07:21

Welcome @dottydimples glad everything was ok at your scan x

@emma1224 you don't need to take anything unless they've given you forms to complete and take with you. Mine are sent before to speed things up a bit on the day but otherwise she will just ask 100 questions about you, dp and your health, give you lots of info and do a blood test.

I'm really struggling. So tired. Ds wakes up at 5 every morning. Usually I'm ok with it but just so tired at the mo and struggling to fall asleep until late so just feed rubbish along with the constant nausea that is so much worse than it was with him. Maybe this is a girl, I've read that can make it worse as hormone levels are higher!

UnicornDust17 · 07/01/2019 07:46

I'm with you on the tablet struggles @PinkLady89x and I've got 14 tablets a day to take.... Confused small price to pay though if they all help Smile

UnicornDust17 · 07/01/2019 07:46

Did you get any better sleep last night @ScotsBaby2?

milly2000 · 07/01/2019 07:49

I'm on week 4 of my morning sickness and I'm really on struggle street. Im meant to be at work in half hour but can't lift my head from my pillow think I'm going to be a bit late this morning 😩😷

Rachellev · 07/01/2019 08:00

@milly2000 a little tip eat something small like toast or tea biscuit before you get out of bed really helps

milly2000 · 07/01/2019 08:06

Thanks @Rachellev doesn't seem to work for me though! I think I've tried it all now!

bubblegumunicorn · 07/01/2019 09:21

I know someone mentioned this the other day but I've just found out my baby has grown elbows! I can't get over how weird that must be one week you're flapping your paddle arms and the next they bend. It must be the weirdest feeling growing a whole body 😂
