I've been doing a bit of googling, trying to get organised before I go back to work tomorrow. There seem to be ante-natal courses by something called Bump and Baby (though not in my area) which seems to be a kind of alternative to NCT. Also there's the Birthlight Trust and they seem to list ante-natal stuff by local area. Might be worth a look for those still deciding.

BirthdayKake · 01/01/2019 14:59

@ohhellojo I'm not sure if it is the flutters you can feel, although it's still really early. I can't feel anything yet (baby #5). However, your DH definitely won't be able to feel the baby yet! They're only 5cm at this stage and can't kick or punch hard enough. But maybe don't tell him that Wink

Trouble2cats · 01/01/2019 15:01

Just marking my spot, will checm properly later.
Happy New year though!

DianaBlythe · 01/01/2019 15:24

@Capybaras I’m South Wales too. Where is this pram centre you speak of?

Capybaras · 01/01/2019 15:33

@DianaBlythe I think it's called discount pram centre - there's one in Bridgend and cross hands! Heard good things!

cathyj87 · 01/01/2019 16:09

For those asking about the Facebook group here's the link: www.facebook.com/groups/294738377802514/?ref=share

Happy New Year ladies. Another one enjoying being hangover free on NY day! We were at a friends house for a party and they all got very very drunk. They didn't ask why I wasn't drinking but I felt like a bit of a party pooper. I did learn how to floss though so that's an achievement haha

@StargazyDrifter love the idea of writing letters to the baby!

I'm in north London, future meet ups would be good! I'm not on Facebook though so hopefully the thread on here will continue!

@ReginaPhalange89 I'd love to breastfeed but this is my first so will give it a good go and see how I get on. Can see it would be challenging with having children already!

So sorry about your FIL @blueeyedviking

@ohhellojo That seems very early for feeling baby but who knows! Could it be your uterus stretching as it grows?

I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow - almost at the 12 weeks mark!! Booking in next week... eek!

ReginaPhalange89 · 01/01/2019 16:53

I bloody hate New year's day ! Nothing opened, stuck in with the kids . Toddler throwing fits and the 6 year old is fed up 🙈

AIDE2424 · 01/01/2019 16:58

To those wanting to write letters to baby, my friend got me a cute little pack that is for that and has envelopes addressed to the baby in the future xx

reggiesmama · 01/01/2019 17:07

I marked my place on the first thread and then got cold feet and ducked out! Just followed quietly since Grin

Had my 12 week scan on Christmas Eve and happy to say baby is due July 10th!!

Really enjoying reading these threads, I've signed up to a local NCT class as been recommended by lots of people that already have babies!

I've been looking at / reading about hypnobirthing. Has anybody else done this before or looking at doing it? Be interested to hear how your finding it!

Hope everybody has had a lovely sober Christmas and new year!

X

mrsof20118 · 01/01/2019 17:56

Did anyone else’s symptoms tail off around weeek 8 to 9? I’m still fairly tired but nausea seems to have gone now x

wombatron · 01/01/2019 18:17

@Capybaras Mums in South Wales. May visit the pram place next time I go down!

wombatron · 01/01/2019 18:18

Yes Mrs - no symptoms whatsoever at the moment. Tailed off last weekend before Christmas. I had a scan 2 days before Xmas so I know it was in there then. Think I'll relax a bit more in a few weeks when I've had my 12 week one!

Reggie we did hypnobirthing with our first. Was useful for teaching me to take the time and space to make my own decisions in labour, but I didn't have a "perfect" calm hypnobirth in the end. But the tracks were good relaxation.

BirthdayKake · 01/01/2019 20:00

Wish my symptoms had gone! I came up to bed at 6 o clock :(

Regina I HATE new year's Day! But this one has been the best ever as we have the scan to look forward to tomorrow :)

mrsof20118 · 01/01/2019 20:03

@Wombatron same I had one on 22nd and all good. When is your 12 week scan? Mines booked in for 16th but have the harmony test booked in for 14th and think they also do a scan

cravingmilkshake · 01/01/2019 20:14

I also have a scan tomorrow at 16:30 - it's my second private one- (10 wk and 6 days), booking in appt on Thursday and should have 12 week scan next week but not heard anything 😢

Jxtina86 · 01/01/2019 20:18

@reggiesmama my friend did hypnobirthing and had a great experience by all accounts. She paid for a course in addition to NCT and said between the two hypnobirthing was more practical.

@BirthdayKake our 12 week scan is tomorrow too. We had one the other week due to confusion of LMP and cycle length but this one is the official one where they'll do all the screening etc and get a proper due date. Despite all being well 2 weeks ago, I'm still so nervous! Hope all goes well for you tomorrow!

wombatron · 01/01/2019 21:10

@mrsof20118 it's also on the 16th. I'll be booking the harmony once I know all is ok. I'm not in a rush to tell anyone about this pregnancy so am more than happy to wait!

OP posts:
BirthdayKake · 01/01/2019 21:31

@Jxtina86 thank you, and good luck! I'm also really nervous now. DH is SO excited. I can't wait to see his face. He didn't realise that you can often see the baby moving on the scan. Think he just expected it to be a picture! Mine is at 10am

AIDE2424 · 01/01/2019 21:53

Fancying coco pops at this time of night ( don’t usually eat cereal only weetabix) so DP went out to get some bless him 😍 knew there was a reason I was marrying him 😂xx

wombatron · 02/01/2019 07:23

Good luck all that have their scans today! X

Thank you @wombatron! I've barely slept but when I did I had an amazing but inappropriate dream about Eminem

wombatron · 02/01/2019 08:58

Haha birthday that sounds intriguing!

OP posts:
Jxtina86 · 02/01/2019 09:06

Thanks @wombatron 😊

@BirthdayKake wish I'd had an inappropriate dream! Instead had nightmares thanks to Luther...!
