@Jxtina86 aww no! I've never seen that. Was gutted that my 2yo called out for me just before Eminem kissed me and not just on my face

50 minutes to go!

Jxtina86 · 02/01/2019 09:37

@BirthdayKake I recommend day time viewing rather than just before going to bed. Oh man that is frustrating! 😉😂 eek not long to go - will be thinking of you! Got mine at 2pm and struggling to concentrate on work between now and then!

Michelle0507 · 02/01/2019 10:09

Good luck with the scans.

Fellow cocopops addict over here, has Vit D in so all is good!! Lol!

StargazyDrifter · 02/01/2019 10:17

Fellow cocopops addict here!

Also very funny about Eminem. That's far better than Boris Johnshon or Ed Miliband (disguised as a woman), who have also previously featured on these threads. There was another strange one but I've forgotten who. So well done BirthdayKake for raising the bar! 😂

Lots and lots of luck to those having scans today and in the next couple of days.

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 10:48

@Jxtina86 glad you feel my pain 😂 still waiting. 50 minutes late now aaagghhh

Michelle0507 · 02/01/2019 11:07

@BirthdayKake mine was the same, not good when you're desperate for a wee! As soon as I laid down she said "wow that bladder is full" I don't need you to tell me that love!!!

Kentishgal · 02/01/2019 11:32

Hello, sorry for the lack of contributions lately and thank you for the kind wishes. I've been in hospital visiting my mother for a lot of the time over Xmas, and been struggling with severe migraines. Lovely to see the scan pics and hear all the good news. Good luck to those with scans coming up. Mine isn't until Monday - I'm truly the size of a house already - at 9 weeks someone offered me a seat in doctor's waiting room because I was pregnant - I'm sure people think I'm about 5 or 6 months, I'm not sure why I'm so big - rubbish tummy muscles I expect.

StargazyDrifter · 02/01/2019 11:39

Kentishgal good to see you back! Hope things improve on the migraines and that your mum is as ok as can be.

I think a lot of the tummy stuff will be bloat, because the digestive system slows down due to hormones and there's a lot of gas and stuff as a result. Lovely, joyous time that this is! I'm 13+3 now and the bloat has halved and got hard towards the lower end (sort of above my belt). Drinking lots of water helped my bloat, not instantly, and if felt a bit worse before it got better, but it sort of helped clear it eventually.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 02/01/2019 13:33

Is anyone on here thinking of doing a NCT course? Just wondering whether they are worth it

Trying2bemum · 02/01/2019 13:50

Hope today's scans go well

Good tip on the water @StargazyDrifter. I'm soooooo bloated at the moment

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I'll be doing NCT. It's our first and I'm clueless. Plus want to make friends in our area as we moved here two years ago and don't know that many people nearby

I'm 11 weeks today! Feeling pretty good, nauseous on and off and quite tired, but on the whole okay 👍🏼

HchyScott · 02/01/2019 13:59

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts my sister and my bil really recommended NCT so I think we will do it. We really can’t afford it but my sister said how much it helped her having mums to meet up with every week after birth as they all became such good friends, she said it was invaluable and my bil said the same. So think we will just stick it on the credit card!

StargazyDrifter · 02/01/2019 14:06

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I'll also be doing NCT. Posted up thread that alternatives seem to be Baby & Bump courses (a bit cheaper than NCT, similar idea, but not available everywhere) and stuff by the Birthlight Trust. Neither worked for us location-wise so I stopped researching at that.

Hchy how are your red bumps? Mine have got a bit worse still today. 😭 I thought they were meant to improve by now!

Is anyone else getting a bit veiny? My boobs yes, but also arms and legs now. And I'm not particularly fair-skinned.

cravingmilkshake · 02/01/2019 14:29

Any off cravings yet? I just caved and drove to the nearest McDonald's drive through for a banana milk shake and quarter pounder meal!

Squ1ggle · 02/01/2019 14:31

We're looking to do the nct essentials course purely to meet other parents. We didn't do it last time as we were moving house but didn't exactly know where to. By the time we moved when ds was 6 months I felt quite isolated and still don't know many people locally so there's our reason for doing it

HchyScott · 02/01/2019 14:35

@StargazyDrifter horrendous 😭 got an appointment with the docs on the 10th but I’ll have to move it due to work. I’ll post a pic of my back, have never had anything like it in my life!!!

Ringing in the New Year & 2nd trimester - July 2019!
StargazyDrifter · 02/01/2019 15:08

HchyScott yes, that's them! Sorry you're struggling. I have a 5-6 of those on my chin/jaw and about 4 on my back. Like you, I've never had acne or anything like that. I've been spraying mine with antibacterial wound spray from the first aid kit and that sometimes works. There's a fantastic face mask called GlamGlow that I used to swear by before for any blemishes but it's got stuff that's counter-indicated in pregnancy. ☹️ I tried bicarbonate soda and lemon juice as a mask (found somewhere online) but didn't really help. I hope the GP gives you an answer. What a joyous time, eh!

StargazyDrifter · 02/01/2019 15:10

Really like the tattoo btw, lovely and intricate.

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 15:10

One active, beautiful baby, due July 15th!

Ooooh lovely @BirthdayKake !!!

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 15:15

Thank you! He/she was so worth the hour delay. They've already decided to give me three extra scans because my other babies were small. Very efficient!

Michelle0507 · 02/01/2019 15:28

All our babies seem so active!

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 15:32

Well tbf I did fill my bladder with Pepsi...

Jxtina86 · 02/01/2019 15:43

Lovely photo @BirthdayKake glad it all went well!

Can't seem to post a photo on the app but all well with ours too- 13+1 And due 9th July. Very active and also got a longer look as they had a trainee in too - definitely wasn't complaining! Also heard the heartbeat which I wasn't expecting - had a few tears in amazement and wonder!

Only thing was that I've had to have to Downs blood test for the third time as previous two were too early!

BirthdayKake · 02/01/2019 16:18

@Jxtina86 thank you! Glad yours went well too :) I had my blood taken too but it was painless tbh. I don't mind needles though! And wow, 13 weeks! ❤️

Jxtina86 · 02/01/2019 16:22

@BirthdayKake thanks! I'm not great with needles but needs must. Was just annoying as they could have given us the risk level then and there if I'd had bloods done at the right stage. Oh well, just got to wait now!
