Also doing team surprise over here. For our names shortlist, I think we're pretty set on using our first choice boy's name from last time if it's a boy, and our second choice girl's name if it's a girl (my DD took our first choice, obviously). We've thought about it a fair bit but nothing else seems to be coming close to those options.

Have people seen there's an October 2019 group now?!? Seeing the later month groups popping up is one of the main things that makes me feel properly pregnant!

ReginaPhalange89 · 22/01/2019 15:49

I still don't really feel properly pregnant ! I'm not sure it'll feel real until i start feeling some movement (which I'm hoping won't be too far off for a 3rd baby! ) . Even having had our scan hasn't really changed anything!

Also I can't wait to start buying stuff ! Has anyone bought much yet ? Other than a little sleepsuit I've not got anything yet . Almost bought a Moses basket in Aldi yesterday but didn't in the end

Yukka · 22/01/2019 15:53

This is probably our only baby due to the complications we’ve had and my age so that’s driving the surprise reveal in gender.
Plus there are only girls in our family (x6 nieces) so it will be funny to not know and what will be will be. I looked at the nub thing and my scans look like both so I’m not going to try and work it out anymore!

We have names, I’m convinced by the boys name still debating the girls name. I feel like we need two of each though to match the face to the name if that makes sense.

Giraffe888 · 22/01/2019 16:37

We’ve got gender scan booked for 8th Feb! Not long to wait!

I’m really struggling with my back at work. I’m on my feet all day and it’s really painful. I’ve got an underlying back problem from 12 yrs ago so I was worried it would hurt once I got pregnant but not this soon. Anyone any helpful remedies?!

Trying2bemum · 22/01/2019 16:55

@beckybutterfly I hope the pain has settling down. I get tummy aches and cramping and it's really disconcerting - but there is lots going on in there xx

I don't think we will find out the gender. I've started noting my favourite names on my pregnancy app, but I have no idea what DH likes. We don't really talk about the pregnancy as he is still struggling :(

13+6 today and my jeans are really uncomfortably tight... The maternity jeans are too big still though! I'm ready for a proper bump now...

Trying2bemum · 22/01/2019 17:01

@rookangaroo I can't believe there is an October group! That's crazy and makes July feel quite soon...

BeckyButterfly · 22/01/2019 17:25

Woah, there’s been a lot of chat whilst I’ve been at work on here!

My husband and I have decided on a name for both genders (including middle names!) we’ve had them picked out since before I fell pregnant.

Thanks @Trying2bemum I actually went to the docs today and turns out I have a UTI! So got antibiotics for that which I don’t like taking but I started to feel like that is what it could be yesterday.

I’m in my maternity jeans that I bought from Lidl yesterday already and they fit quite well! My bump isn’t too bad in the mornings but by tea time it has doubled in size!

@Giraffe888 I have sciatica and I can feel it glaring up already. Make sure you are fully supported when you sleep. I take a lot of baths at bedtime to help ease the muscles. You can go for a massage (I do regularly) but go to someone experienced and make sure they know you are pregnant. I also have one of those microwaveable wheatie things which I place on my lower back when I’m sitting on the sofa or lying in bed.

I’m due 24th of July and I am going to find out the gender! I don’t like surprises!

Giraffe888 · 22/01/2019 18:19

Thank you @beckybutterfly I’ll try that!

Another question ladies sorry! I’ve had a few bit of clear mucus today...is that normal? 😳

RooKangaroo · 22/01/2019 18:25

@Giraffe888, completely normal. I think the only time to worry about mucous is if it smells bad. Anything in the clear/yellow/brown colour range and not smelly is fine.

@BeckyButterfly, yes to enormous bumps in the afternoons! I feel like I've suddenly popped this evening, whereas this morning was pretty normal. Suspect it's a bloating thing throughout the day rather than actually popping, though I guess I'll see in the morning.

RooKangaroo · 22/01/2019 18:26

@Trying2bemum, sorry your DH is still struggling. How are you doing? How are you feeling about it all? x

Trying2bemum · 22/01/2019 18:58

@BeckyButterfly glad you've seen the doc and hope the UTI clears up quickly

@Giraffe888 I get lots of that too - my first thought is "I'm bleeding" and have to go a loo and check. It's totally normal in pregnancy - there's a special name for it but I can't remember what it is

@RooKangaroo not great to be honest. I'm really angry with him a lot of the time and we're just not communicating properly. I tried to say a few things about the baby earlier and he shut me down - he doesn't want to hear it Sad

Twistering · 22/01/2019 19:09

@capybaras @Jxtina86 @ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I’m team 9th July too!

@HchyScott did you get to hear heartbeat today like @Jxtina86? I had my 16 week midwife today too and she said they don’t do it til later.

I’ve never actually heard the heartbeat, just seen it!

SnailorSwift · 22/01/2019 19:17

Anyone had their dates moved following 12 week scan? Mine has shifted from 13th July to the 8th but pretty sure my original date was accurate 🤷🏼‍♀️

HchyScott · 22/01/2019 19:30

@Twistering yes I did, the best noise ever! She even prepared me by saying it’s totally normal to take a while to find it but as soon as she made contact with my skin it was there and so strong and loud, she had to turn the speaker down! My iron levels are great for the first time in my life lol but sending my urine away for testing as she found trace of something. Gutted for you that you didn’t get to hear it, something to definitely look forward to!! Is your next check 20 week scan?

FuzzyPixel · 22/01/2019 19:35

@Trying2bemum - I'm really sorry to hear that there's still a struggle going on. If you ever need to talk about it or vent about it, I'm hear to listen.

Trying2bemum · 22/01/2019 21:17

Thanks @FuzzyPixel x x x

@TwinkleDay I hope things are okay with your oh xxx

TwinkleDay · 22/01/2019 21:29

@Trying2bemum yes why what's up with him that I don't know of?

Trying2bemum · 22/01/2019 21:31

@TwinkleDay I'm so sorry I got the wrong username 🙈

Trying2bemum · 22/01/2019 21:31

I think I meant @Chinks123 !! Can I blame baby brain yet....

cathyj87 · 22/01/2019 21:46

I'm another for 9th!

Giraffe888 · 22/01/2019 22:11

We heard the heartbeat at the 8wk private scan we had. Our area doesn’t listen to it until 25wk midwife appt x

Twistering · 23/01/2019 07:17

@HchyScott sounds amazing! Isn’t it weird how nhs policies differ by location! Next check at 18 weeks with Consultant so will definitely ask then. Although my friend has a Doppler but probably a bad idea!

@Tryingtobemum sorry to hear things not good still, meant to ask as was thinking of you and @Chinks123 yesterday. Is it worth trying to explore some counselling as its not good for either of you. But especially you!

ReginaPhalange89 · 23/01/2019 07:18

@SnailorSwift my dates changed by a whole week by my scan dates ! I was positive too going my my last period and using OPKS. Original date was 29th and they've moved it to the 22nd! I'm not too fussed for now but worried what it'll mean at the end if they think I'm overdue and want to induce me 🙈

thedust · 23/01/2019 07:45

My due date got pushed back 10 days from the 4th to the 14th. Got my appointment through for my 20 week scan - crazy that I'll then be halfway and it's in just over a month! It feels like it's flying by now since we told everyone.

Chinks123 · 23/01/2019 08:46

Thankyou for asking @Trying2bemum and @Twistering, dp is actually doing much better. We had a talk and he admitted his depression was creeping back, but he didn’t tell me as he didn’t want me to ask him to take his tablets.
I came home to a box of decaf tea bags which was cute as he bought me those for dd.

I’ve bought a few bits in the baby event, and some rib knit dresses for when we’ve announced, I want to show my bump off this time. Currently hiding it with baggy jumpers and scarves which are good in this weather.
Still no sickness or symptoms and I’m finally starting to relax and enjoy it. Hope everyone else is well.
