Morning!
Phoned to make my 16 week midwife appt this morning, apparently she's only in the surgery one afternoon a week 🙈 which makes it incredibly difficult as I'm likely going to have to take my toddler with me to most appts 🙈 anyone know if this is an issue ? Anyone else have to take their kid? I've no other option...
Also happens to be the one day a week my eldest has a club after school which means I'm going to be rushing around no matter what time I make the appt 🙈 christ.

wombatron · 21/01/2019 10:17

@ReginaPhalange89 I don't know. I can't imagine it's a problem, but with my limited knowledge and experience I wouldn't rely on me!

I've got a cold. Again. It seems that I've evaded actual sickness and just got nausea. I evaded too many aversions and smell induced vomiting and I haven't gained any weight in the last 3 months, but my immune system is taking a battering it would seem Angry

Can someone come make me a coffee and clean my kitchen? Please????

@ReginaPhalange89, no it’s not an issue, I’ve had to take mine many of times over the years. My midwife only does her clinic once a week at my surgery too, so mines this Wednesday at 15+3 and I have to take my 2 & 3 year old with me haha. They see it loads of times so don’t worry.

Capybaras · 21/01/2019 10:52

My GP only has appointments every other week so got mine next week at 17w!

My immune system has taking a battering too @wombatron - I've got yet another cold too. Such a pain you can't take any of the good stuff for it either!

Still waiting for my bump to pop! Hating this in between phase of is she fat or pregnant. Clothes are a pita too!

Capybaras · 21/01/2019 10:54

Does anyone else also getting a bit nervous coming up to the 20w scan again - just in case it's bad news? Seen a few posts this morning about late losses too which is so sad to hear.

ReginaPhalange89 · 21/01/2019 11:38

Does anyone happen to know the size guide for h&m matet? Its all small/medium/large etc , but they're normal clothing range is usually a joke for sizes so don't know what to go for 🙈

ememem84 · 21/01/2019 13:16

Afternoon. Hopping back in. Had my 12 week scan today. Due date 29 July.

Capybaras · 21/01/2019 13:34

Brilliant news @ememem84 are you going to tell people now?

I have no idea sorry @ReginaPhalange89 hoping someone else does as I've seen a few things I like on there! But as you said H&M is notorious for bad sizing!

BeckyButterfly · 21/01/2019 13:39

@wombatron when they are finished at yours they could pop over to mine, that would be great!

I was awake all night with quite bad cramping pains. I rang the hospital at 6am because I was getting worried but they didn’t seem concerned. They just said to take paracetamol and ring if it gets worse or I start to bleed. I didn’t go into work because I have been a bit of a mess without any sleep.
I’m just hoping it was nothing and everything is okay.

ememem84 · 21/01/2019 14:10

Yep. Well everyone that fils gf hasn’t already told....🤔

Capybaras · 21/01/2019 16:37

@BeckyButterfly fingers crossed it's just stretching or something. How are you feeling now? I would definitely have taken the day off too and I'm sure work would understand! Thanks

BeckyButterfly · 21/01/2019 17:23

@Capybaras yeah, I hope so. That is what the hospital said when I rang. I’ve not had any bleeding and had no more pain today so fingers crossed. I’m feeling alright, just can’t help but be worried.

pusscous · 21/01/2019 17:27

Hi! I found you all again; I lost you all for about 6 weeks; a combo of forgotten password/reset not working, traveling, busy weigh Christmas and mainly burying my head in the sand about my risk of miscarriage, which was/ is really high in the first tri, trying to get past the date/week of each previous miscarriage as a milestone, was really tough and easier if I hid from the chat about worrying in the first tri. Hope you all dont me joining back in now.

I've had the 12 week scan which was all clear, just need to go do the blood work. In total I've had 3 scans- had an emergency one 2 weeks ago as I was sent to A & E by my gp via my OB, with suspected pulmonary embolism, having had pains in my heart. It was such a scary process- my 4 year old was with us as it was totally unexpected and we had no one to take her, but thankfully all is ok at the moment.

pusscous · 21/01/2019 17:33

@ememem84 Im due the 30th July, but the french system likes to add an extra week, but im going by the regular date, my OB agrees that it would be that in the UK. I've just started to tell people, very close friends that know of/ helped with our miscarriages and parents. Not telling siblings yet until blood work comes back or maybe the 16 week appointment. I feel very vulnerable about going public and family chat/gossip about it.

Yukka · 21/01/2019 17:56

@beckybutterfly did you have a busy weekend at all? It’s surprising how your body needs to rest and often pain like this can result. Of you could be having a growth spurt too I had a lot of that over Christmas. How are you feeling now? X

BeckyButterfly · 21/01/2019 18:07

@Yukka not massively busy, no. I keep getting little niggling pains now and again but nothing major. I’m just really worried and it’s sending my anxiety through the roof (I already have a diagnosed anxiety disorder so it has been a rollercoaster as it is) I might try ringing my midwife tomorrow morning just to see what she says. I’m sure it’s nothing but I can’t help but worry.

I have had a bit of diarrhoea so hoping that the pain might have something to do with that too.

Yukka · 21/01/2019 18:54

@beckybutterfly I understand the anxiety and I’ve had 3 miscarriages - obviously pain isn’t the same for everyone but if it’s subsided and no spotting then this is all really good. Often in fact with mc the spotting comes first then the pain a few days later.

Remember mc after 12 weeks is really really really low now like about 0.3%, its very likely this is the round ligament which goes right the way across your abdomen from left to right. And your uterus is moving up and out from behind your pelvic bone - it’s not a small task that’s going on in there.

Going to loo will have been good for you too especially if you haven’t been for a while your intestines and bowel in the same would be getting squished.

Phone the midwife tomorrow if you don’t think it’s any better and they may bring you in for a scan to double check.

Stay positive lovely and keep your feet up xx

Yukka · 21/01/2019 19:01

Welcome back @pusscous sorrr for you previous losses and congrats on getting past 12 weeks, great milestone for you reach! Hopefully you can relax into it a little bit, though I’m also high risk and not sure I’ll feel really relaxed until it’s here safely but having faith in the care and medication is about all I can do.

Wishing you a healthy and calm pregnancy x

BeckyButterfly · 21/01/2019 19:52

Thank you @Yukka 😊 that all makes me feel a lot better. With my mc, I had spotting before pain for sure. I think I just overanalyse everything. I also realised that it is blue Monday today which may sound really daft but I have definitely always been affected by that.

I think I’ll worry from now until the little one is here in my arms (and probably beyond that as parenthood is no walk in the park I’m sure!)

Thank you for your words of reassurance though, that has really helped xx

Yukka · 21/01/2019 20:17

@beckybutterfly no worries at all. I had shooting pains last night and had a few moments of being worried but literally lay down with my feet up up and it passed. Sounds like it was whats called Lightning Crotch (WHAT? Lightning in my Vajangle?! WTF?!)

Its easy to over analyse especially if you've lost before - and if you're like me I've never been 'this' pregnant before so its even easier. Arrrggghhh!

Roll on July . . .We'll get there x

BeckyButterfly · 21/01/2019 20:28

@Yukka that made me chuckle!

Definitely 😊

Toria73 · 21/01/2019 23:10

@Yukka my friend who was a midwife told me to expect those but she called them fanny daggers 😂
Does anyone know if you’re supposed to take a urine sample for 16wk midwife visit?
Got mine tomorrow & realised I have nothing to pee into. A travel mug seems a bit excessive...

TwinkleDay · 22/01/2019 06:56

@Toria73 yes you do

Jxtina86 · 22/01/2019 07:48

@Toria73 I've got my 16 week today and they haven't given me anything for the sample or even mentioned it when booking so I'm assuming they will give me something there to use. It was the same at my booking in - think some ladies on here had to bring it with them but at mine they just got me to do it near the end of the appt.

cravingmilkshake · 22/01/2019 08:23

I'm 14 weeks 2 days and didn't know anything about 16 week appt- do I phone them to arrange or is it automatic?
