@Lulabell1 Congratulations! What a surprise having another girl too - you'll have to get thinking about names again. Wink

@Yakadee I know it might not be accurate- especially after hearing some stories on here! I feel like it'll still give me a better idea (perhaps falsely but given I'm a statistician, I feel like numbers usually help me a bit).

Notquiteagandt · 31/12/2018 13:38

What a little beauty..!! 😍

Such a surprise hey a little girl. I have heard of it a few times before being told a boy is a girl but never the other way around. Happy and healthy though so all that matters isnt it.

Hope you are recovering well x

Hey guys to be added to the fb group Who do I need to pm?

Since2016 · 31/12/2018 17:27

Congratulations @lulabell1 !!! I’d second ignoring predicted weights. I was told 8 to 8.5. DD was 9.10 😱 - I took newborn last time and gave them away. We’re going straight to 0-3 as I’d say this baby will be similar!

lanalawr · 31/12/2018 18:33

@Since2016 I realise there's a very wide confidence interval so the prediction may be way out but as a statistician it's just not in me to ignore numbers completely! If they say it's going to be about 8.5lbs then I'll pack larger clothes but don't want to carry more than I have to. We live a five minute drive from the hospital so dh can easily go home to fetch more things.

sickmumma · 31/12/2018 18:41

Congratulations @Lulabell1 !! What an amazing little surprise!! Hope you and baby are both doing well xxx

Since2016 · 31/12/2018 18:50

Haha it must be a challenge @lanalawr I was v sceptical of the prediction given family history and I was right! I ended up in for my over a week last time but I got my mum to bring stuff in - DH useless!

Lulabell1 · 31/12/2018 19:08

Thankyou for all your lovely messages! Im actually really shocked still i keep saying to my mum iv just had another baby!! Not aloud home yet they want me toos stay in 1 night i had 3 lots of stitches and lost a lot of blood but im feeling okay very saw! I can honestly say that being induced and going through labour was much more painful than natural birth with DD. I dont have trust in anything anymore 😂 especially as I paid for an early gender scan and they got it wrong! I wish i would of asked them too check at our 3D scan now but I said not to bother as we knew!!!! The midwife said it could be because i was impatient and lied said i was 16weeks when I was actually 14+2 it can really make a difference. Was a mistake clearly they told me when I was there you are very early on in your pregnancy and we cannot be accurate with results so there u go shows me!

lanalawr · 31/12/2018 19:28

Sounds like it was good to have warning given your family history. DH was the biggest of us all at 8lbs something. DD was average (7lbs 12oz) but I'd be very surprised if this one wasn't over 8lbs. I'm a whale (or feel it)! My parents will be staying looking after DD so if DH can't find anything then my mum can help him.

@Lulabell1 that sounds very sore! Inductions are supposed to be more intense and painful because your labour is being pushed along. It's amazing what you can do though. I do know one other person who was told they were having a boy but had a girl (their gender scan was at 20 weeks too). It's quite rare that way around I believe though. Hope you heal quickly and don't have to stay in too long. How is your little girl doing?

Notquiteagandt · 31/12/2018 20:17

@Lulabell1 glad you can see the end in sight of going home. Will baby be going with you? How is she doing?

I keep looking at photos of all these early deliveries. And cant quite believe thats how big my little one is too 😍 all seems very weird.

Happy new year ladies..!! Currently curled up on sofa willing myself to stay awake. So no way I will be up for the bells.

Yakadee · 31/12/2018 20:25

Won't be staying up here either, having since my son was born! Lol.

Happy new year ladies - soon we'll have our lovely little (or not so little) ones xx

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 31/12/2018 20:27
