Even though I'm only 25, we're done with two.

It ssoemthing DH and I have talked about as I hinedtly don't think I can do this again

bubblybrit · 04/01/2019 18:47

Does anyone feel that baby is really low down? So much so that it’s difficult to walk at times? I’m only 33+6 so still quite a few weeks to go until due date....didn’t expect to feel this pressure for a few weeks yet! Xx

maxiflump1 · 04/01/2019 19:26

@Since2016 and @Yakadee I'll be 39 weeks on Friday 1st February so be interesting to see if Baby remains a February babe or just sneaks into January!

This is definitely the last for us. I'm 38 now and this pregnancy and been so much tougher than with my first. Still don't think I'd want the sterilisation though!!

@bubblybrit I definitely feel like the baby is lower down, even though I know he’s not engaged yet as I had a midwife appointment yesterday. I can still walk but am finding I keep thinking I need the loo but it’s actually just pressure from the baby.

bubblybrit · 04/01/2019 19:38

@Surprisedmom. My next midwife appointment is on Tuesday so will see what she has to say. I constantly need to pop to the bathroom. Even more frustrating given I’m up every hour or two at night 😢!

Surprisedmom · 04/01/2019 20:00

@bubblybrit I can empathise as i’m up every 2-3hours in the night. So glad i’ve finished work now so can sleep in later at least.

bubblybrit · 04/01/2019 20:02

@Surprisedmom. I’ve also stopped worked so do appreciate the lie in. Don’t think I’d cope otherwise!

Lookingforadvice123 · 04/01/2019 20:11

I'm also madly considering a third, even though I was dead against it and can't imagine doing the first trimester again as I really suffered this time.

I just look at DS and how quickly he's growing up and want all the babies, it's more to love! DH was dead against 3 but he's agreed not to rule it out now. If this baby is a dream like DS, I will definitely be very tempted. I'm only 30 but DH is 35 and doesn't want to be "older" (even though around where we live he wouldn't be old at all!) so I think we'd have to go for a slightly smaller gap next time, maybe 2-2.5 years instead of 3.

However if this baby is high maintenance and doesn't sleep I think I'll be done.

Contraception wise, slate me all you want but the withdrawal method, if done properly, works like a dream! I used it for 8 months before I got pregnant with DS and the first month we properly tried, I fell pregnant.

Yakadee · 04/01/2019 20:36

I'll be going back on the pill. Always worked for us. I've only been pregnant twice and I've only wanted to be pregnant twice.

I've heard about the pull out method, I've never tried it but whatever works for you. Xx

Celebelly · 04/01/2019 20:38

We were doing withdrawal method for well over a year before TTC (but it wouldn't have been a disaster if it failed). Now it would be much more of a disaster 😂, so I'm a bit less confident about it, even though it worked fine for us.

welshweasel · 04/01/2019 20:40

DH has had the snip so no worries about contraception here!!

Lookingforadvice123 · 04/01/2019 20:57

Ye I agree actually Celebelly I don't know if I'd risk it if it would be a disaster to have more!

Yakadee pill has always agreed with me too, I went straight back on it after DS was born!

Babynum2 · 04/01/2019 20:57

I want 2 more we always agreed on 4 children but need a smaller gap this time as DD is nearly 5 now but im only 26. Said i was all 4 before 30! We will see what happenes if DH had it his way we would have 6 or 7 he comes from a big family I have 9 nieces and 2 nephews thats why we are hoping for a boy this time aswell.

On the pressure side of things im feeling it too and have done since 33ish weeks i felt like i all of a sudden really needed a wee all the time and just feel really uncomfortable all the time i cant stand up for long periods of time as my stomach feels rock hard cant wait for my maternity to start on Thursday.

bubblybrit · 04/01/2019 21:04

Thankfully it’s not just me then @Babynum2! Good news is that it is much easier to manage when you are not at work!

twiglet · 04/01/2019 21:14

We got free condoms in the baby box 😂 sex is pretty far from my mind though between pgp pain, being aware of low lying placenta, low BP causing light headedness and now continual heartburn its dropped off the radar!

No idea if we will have another, I have struggled with this pregnancy going to need quite a while to forget!
My friend had her 2nd a year after her first, in her words babies are lovely but 2 babies at different stages is a struggle.

sickmumma · 04/01/2019 21:33

We used the withdrawal method... baby 3 was the one time he didn't withdraw but we kind of knew we wanted another so weren't being as careful! This baby we used the same including avoiding time we knew
I was more fertile however still ended up pregnant although the gap is 5 years so did work well for four years but not sure quite what happened! DS1 was on the pill so baby 2 was actually the only 100% planned child! I have tried most contraceptives - pill was too scared after falling with DS1, tried injection but that made me balloon up! Only thing I haven't tried is the coil but I know 2 people that it moved and they ended up pregnant and I just don't think I could risk it!

No idea what we will do once baby is born! Hoping DH will have the snip but he seems a bit reluctant! All I have to do is look at him to get pregnant and I have said to him he's not going near me unless we double up so perhaps the coil and condoms!

4th baby and last baby! We are only 30 @Babynum2 has DS1 at 20 then DS2 at 22 DD3 came at 24 and now due DD2 a week after my 30th birthday 🙈

Celebelly · 04/01/2019 21:40

I feel like I want to get in as much sex now as I can in case my bits change forever Grin

Babynum2 · 04/01/2019 22:08

@sickmumma thats what i want i had DD at 21 this one 26 and then im planning 3 at 28 4 at 30!
@celebelly mine got better! Its really horrible to discribe but im very thin and its like after the baby downstairs lookes more “plump” stitches cleared up quickly and no scarr! Dont no what will happen this time but i have noticed its almost a bit swollen at the moment

Surprisedmom · 04/01/2019 23:07

@Lookingforadvice123 Me and my ex used the pull out method just find, but the one time he didn’t pull out I took the morning after pill and still ended up pregnant. I was on day 24 of my cycle so genuinely thought I was safe anyway and couldn’t have been more shocked to see the positive test.
If I ever think about sex again I think it will have to be condoms and I might get the coil as extra protection. Honestly though at my pregnancy yoga several other women were on the pill and coil and still got pregnant, so nothing seems foolproof.

emalady · 05/01/2019 08:04

In terms of Contraception hormonal coil is definitely worth considering, most people don't have hormonal side effects after the first couple of months, very light or no periods and statically as effective as female sterilisation. I definitely wouldn't trust withdrawal or condoms only if we definitely didn't want any more.

Babynum2 · 05/01/2019 08:28

@emlady it took me 8 months to get used to the marina coil im not sure if thats the hormone one? I was full of spots on my face back and chest i got migraines and i bled on and off constantly!

Lookingforadvice123 · 05/01/2019 08:33

Surprisedmom my friend used the withdrawal method successfully for about 8 years...when she went on the mini pill she got pregnant straight away!

Babynum2 · 05/01/2019 09:57

I feel guilty! Iv been a vegetarian for 6years now and iv craved meat this pregnancy iv had the odd bit of chicken or beef but i said i draw the line at mcdonalds. Wellllll i just had a mcmuffin meal and i enjoyed every last bit of it Hmm

Since2016 · 05/01/2019 11:06

@babynum2 yes the mirena is hormonal, copper isn’t. Doesn’t suit everyone - it changed my life (horrific periods) and I had no issue getting pregnant the first time coming off it. I didn’t bleed at all either either time and it’s 5 years which was amazing!

Yakadee · 05/01/2019 11:35

It's operation 'sort baby room' this weekend so on a massive cleaning up mission!

Finally bought stuff like bottles, formula etc yesterday so feeling much more organised. Just need to give the bottle maker a good clean ready for baby! Can't wait to get everything totally sorted.

Hope everyone is OK today xx
