I'm with you on the nesting! It's like an urge to sort, organise and clean. Definitely not my usual style but think I'll take advantage whilst I'm interested in it. Deep cleaned the washing machine, dryer and dishwasher for the first time last week.
I've even been following people on instagram like This Girl Can Organise and Jottiesjournal to learn tips and tricks.

Since2016 · 20/12/2018 20:23

Nope not nesting at all. Still putting off going into the loft.... so no pram, cot, clothes, bedding or car seat 😂 Christmas first!

Denial anyone?

Celebelly · 20/12/2018 20:25

@twiglet You can come round and do my house when you're done! The spare room/nursery is a disaster. Just boxes and baby stuff everywhere. I have at least washed some baby clothes and put them away!

I think I might get a cleaner in for Jan to give the whole place a good going over before baby arrives and do some of the annoying jobs like the skirting boards, top of doors, etc. that don't get done regularly.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 20/12/2018 20:39

@emalady. Oh thank God! Having a P.E is bloody scary, knowing that clots passed through your precious heart makes me feel sick.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 20/12/2018 20:46

@Lookingforadvice123. Thanks Flowers

@Notquiteagandt. I think we were hitting muscle! I've lost 2 and 1/2st since falling pregnant so the fat has just gone from a few places!

@maxiflump1. It's just shit on everything. I'm constantly worrying about 're clotting which I know is unlikely. DH has taken a career break as I am too buggered to do literally anything and with my lungs being so bad he doesn't want to leave me on my own.

I have an appointment on the 9th to discuss induction.

Lulabell1 · 20/12/2018 20:49

@alicejj8x Have they confirmed for you baby is head down yet? I dodnt feel the urge to wee alot until about 27weeks when he was head down and aint moved since which means my constant toilet trips havent stopped. Quit annoying as when im at work the phone just seems to love to ring when i get into the toilet!!!

Lulabell1 · 20/12/2018 20:55

@rowse I follow a lady called mrs hinch on instagram shes my motivation iv always suffered with OCD but its more clutter that bugs me so im the opposite to a hoarder I get rid of everything!! I went into a nesting mode and done a massive clean last time with DD and I ended up going into labour the next day think i pushed myself too far!

twiglet · 20/12/2018 21:10

@Celebelly at the rate I'm finding things that I want clean I would get to your house in about July Blush

It's very strange!

AliceRR · 20/12/2018 21:25

I’ve got the nesting urge and I’ve been cleaning etc more than usual, not so much this week as I am EXHAUSTED but wanting to nest is what’s making our delay with moving more stressful. I want to get settled to make a home for my baby and everything just feels a bit up in the air

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 20/12/2018 21:50

I wish I had the nesting urge! By the time I’ve got home from work and sorted the kids out... I just need to sit 😩

I’d love to be up and busy.. but everything just aches 😬

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 20/12/2018 21:51

Those of you on iron tablets, did you feel much of a difference in your energy levels once you started on them? And if so... how long did it take?

lanalawr · 20/12/2018 22:09

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I haven't noticed a difference in energy levels but I've found I'm not light headed as often. My iron levels were only one below the threshold though 🙄 and I suspect that also had something to do with the fact that we had no kitchen at the time so we're eating random things.
I hadn't put it down to nesting but it could me. My house is still a tip after having the kitchen done and it's getting to me. We're away at the moment though so I can't do anything about it. I can't sort out things for the baby until that's done either. I've also realised that I don't have anywhere to put their clothes. We need to decorate dd's room and get her a wardrobe to clear out the cupboard her things are in for the baby.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 20/12/2018 22:21

Yeah, my levels weren’t too bad, but my stores were very low... I’m not too sure how they work with each other to be honest, but looking at my results the midwife asked if I’d been tired, then said she wasn’t surprised when I said I had been.

My levels were 108 (they like them to be over 110 apparently?) and my stores were at 8 (I think she said they were at 50 before).

I’ve googled and I kind of understand what it means... but not very well 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think my levels are set to crash if I don’t get my stores up....?

powkin · 20/12/2018 22:30

My iron was above threshold but as it was 3 weeks between the test and seeing my midwife again she still wanted me to take them, assuming they might have fallen in the interim. I think I’m getting a cold so definitely not brimming with energy. DH has been nesting more than me!

PGP plus rib flare and acute rib pain in my back is starting to wear me down.

Rowse · 21/12/2018 06:24

@Lulabell1 I follow her too, she definitely motivates me to do it too.
My Mum said she was scrubbing the kitchen floor on her hands and knees the day before she went into labour with me! I can't really imagine how that's possible with a 9 month bump, I'm finding it difficult already.

AvoidingMarking · 21/12/2018 06:55

@Puggles123 snap!

Surprisedmom · 21/12/2018 07:04

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I noticed after about a week or so but my levels were at 89. I had thought I was fine before taking the iron I have much more energy now I am taking them.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 21/12/2018 08:08

Has anyone got their morning sickness back? I wake up with a TERRIBLY dry mouth/throat and it makes me feel sick as a dog, in fact I have been sick again a few times. Envy

Also - numb thighs in bed? Angry

Last question? Am I the only person that hasn't really bought baby bits yet? I'm incredibly superstitious! My mum lost my brother at 30 weeks and with having my P.E I just haven't dared to buy things. Is that silly? Blush

Yakadee · 21/12/2018 08:25

@LookingAtTheStars89 - I haven't brought that much really, just a few vests / sleep suits. Although, my reason really is because we saved loads from my son. I never like to buy anything before around 25 weeks x

All you ladies suffering, I feel for you. This is the last slog now xxx

powkin · 21/12/2018 08:37

@babyp160 most of the 1:1 physio exercises I have are Pilates based, lots of engaging transabdominals and pelvic floor, I think if you like for pregnancy Pilates videos on YouTube it is very similar. She also gave me a belt to wear when I’m walking but not sure I’ve got the hang of it on my own as I found it made it more painful so need to look at images online on how to attach it properly. You can’t really down in it so spend forever taking it off and on and not the most practical.

Feel like I’m getting a horrible cold just in time for Christmas, which will be compounded tomorrow by trying to travel when there’s a rail strike and half the trains are running. Dreading it.

@LookingAtTheStars89 - we’ve bought a crib on eBay and a bouncer and that’s literally it. I was hoping for tonnes of stuff from my Irish family but my mum recently dropped into conversation that they are too superstitious to give me anything prebirth. It was all the tiny things that I need the most and didn’t want to have to buy :(

powkin · 21/12/2018 08:39

@LookingAtTheStars89 I might call your maternity helpline/GP about numb legs in bed, they may want to check on that x

Since2016 · 21/12/2018 08:41

I’ve bought 3 sleep suits and some leggings in 6-9, some new towels and a bath support. That’s it! We have a loft full of stuff and will be inundated once she’s here so I’m quite relaxed - possibly too much.

@powkin - you’ve got the main bits. Honestly you don’t need much clothes wise pre birth as you’ll get so much. Jan sales will be good for vests and hats etc...

Lulabell1 · 21/12/2018 11:08

@rowse I lived with my mum and I was scrubbing skirting boards and window frames and all that up and down definatley made me have her the next day! They say excersize makes you go into labour and I would say its a form of excersize for me seeing as I dont do any others😂

1stTimeTina · 21/12/2018 12:38

Just place marking but also getting things off my chest! Baby is SO active lately, like mom stop, surely she needs to break for sleep at some point?? My back is in agony and I'm not sleeping at all! Also like a few of you we decided this was a great time to put in a new kitchen ... which lead to the whole downstairs being re-floored , there's so much to do in the house but I just want everything to be finished so I can settle and relax ready for baby coming! I can barely do the cleaning without being completely out of breath and in pain. I feel so useless!

bubblybrit · 21/12/2018 17:08

@LookingAtTheStars89. I’m sorry to hear that you are still suffering. Glad that your DH is looking after you though Flowers xx
