@Since2016 - you know, I was the same! You have a baby to look after so you just crack on. I cried so much and she told me I hadn't grieved and that I needed to let it out. I felt so much better afterwards and she was right. (I think I nearly used her whole box of tissues!).

Just focus on what you want to happen and it will - if you cry you cry - maybe it's what you need - I know I did. Xx

Surprisedmom · 18/12/2018 13:09

I got some good news today that my iron levels have gone up and are at 97 now (low but not as much as before). They want me to be over 100 or apparently I have to be on the consultant led unit, so i’m pretty sure if I keep taking the daily tablets i’ll be safe to go midwife led which is a relief.

Since2016 · 18/12/2018 13:20

Consultant was absolutely lovely - no issues at all. I even have a date! 7th Feb. All booked in and confirmed. What a huge relief. Now if I could shake this bug off too...

Lulabell1 · 18/12/2018 14:52

I really dont understand this percentile stuff iv tried to google it still hard for me to get it! So baby is on the 75th percentile?

Yakadee · 18/12/2018 15:07

@Since2016 - that's great, I was hoping it would go that way! Well jealous that you got a date though lol. I have to wait another 2 weeks!!! X

Since2016 · 18/12/2018 15:10

Thanks @yakadee she still thinks I should get some counselling re DD’s birth but maybe a few months down the line. Also have a ‘growth scan’ - basically just for reassurance she said (there’s no medical need) for jan. She was just lovely and said she hoped my experience this time would be a lot more positive and supportive. Feeling great about it all, although 7 weeks more or less to go means I really do need to think about getting sorted!

Celebelly · 18/12/2018 15:35

We had our final antenatal class today! We are now ready to have a baby GrinGrinHmmConfused

Got home to a lovely gift waiting from my aunt and uncle: a Babymoov Nutribaby! Some sort of magical device that sterilises, warm bottles, and can be used for weaning to make purées and steam food. Looks pretty handy!

Yakadee · 18/12/2018 15:39

@Since2016 - I know! I'm due on the 3rd so like to be the week or two before that so feeling very close!!! Finally started sorting the bedrooms out (my son was so excited) so once that's done I can start the washing and sorting! X

maxiflump1 · 18/12/2018 15:46

@Since2016 so glad your appointment went well and you got your date. What was your due date originally? I'm hoping I'll get my date at follow up consultant appointment on 14th Jan. Am due 8th Feb so guessing last few days of Jan??

@Lulabell1 if baby is on 75th centile it means that it is bigger than 75% of all babies at the same stage. Or to put it another way 25% of babies are bigger than yours......

@maxiflump1 due date is 15th Feb, so it’s 38 weeks +6. A Thursday am which means lots of people around all day thurs and fri if there are any issues (rather than a Friday afternoon!) yeah I’d say last week / days of jan? There’s going to be a few of us all having our sections around the same sort of time by the sounds of it!

welshweasel · 18/12/2018 17:40

Unless there’s a good reason to book earlier they won’t usually book a section for before 39 weeks so end of jan/beginning of feb looks likely yakadee.

Hoping to get my date tomorrow!

Yakadee · 18/12/2018 17:56

@maxiflump1 - yes she said approx 39 weeks but my week starts on a Sunday and I know they won't book you in on a weekend so might just be the end of my 38th week (apparently). I'm fine either way really, so long as it doesn't affect baby x

Yakadee · 18/12/2018 17:57

Sorry meant that for @welshweasel lol x

Since2016 · 18/12/2018 20:29

Much better to have the beginning of the following week I think in case there are issues. Nothing worse than being in hospital post surgery over a wkend with skeleton staff! I’m hoping to be able to go home by the Saturday all being well. They promote natural c section and enhanced recovery so fx. That would be my ideal although getting discharged on a wkend presents it’s own issues....

@welshweasel hope you get your date too! I was v surprised she said I could get the date today!

Lulabell1 · 18/12/2018 20:31

Thanks maxiflump1 you explain it better than the doctor! I was abit worried because he didnt really no what he was doing when measuring and the lady kept coming to help him but they estimated 5.2lb and im 32 weeks exactly today and hes still head down 😀

emalady · 18/12/2018 22:07

That's really exciting that some of you have dates already. If you are booked in but labor early will you try vaginal delivery or end up with an emergency section? I'm seeing consultant tomorrow to ask about induction /stays and labour ward vs midwife led unit. Not sure if they will give me answers as I'm waiting for tests Thursday to see if I have a clot on the lung - probably not but having blood thinning injections until the results are in.

Yakadee · 19/12/2018 07:04

@emalady - I'm really (really really) hoping it won't come to that I was told that section is still an option if you start on your own however depending on how quickly you progress it could potentially interfere. I was induced with first so hoping that's a positive in terms of not starting on my own 😮

Babybeany · 19/12/2018 10:20

Morning mummies! I haven’t been on the group for ages! I am over the moon that it’s still going! I am 31 weeks tomorrow and this morning my tummy was really lopsided and quite painful under my ribs. I also have a slight ache in my lower left tum just above my pelvis. Any thoughts?

Since2016 · 19/12/2018 10:20

@emalady if I went into labour spontaneously before the date then it would just be an emergency c section albeit not as dramatic as last time. I have absolutely no intention of attempting a vaginal delivery. Given that I never even got past 3/4cm last time I’d say it’s unlikely to be an issue - DD was born 6 days late as it was!

Lulabell1 · 19/12/2018 11:40

My mum was booking in for csection with my brother and he ended up coming at 32 weeks and she delivered him in the bulance on the way too the hospital🙈

Lookingforadvice123 · 19/12/2018 11:46

One of my poor friends was booked in for an ELCS with her second, it was pushed back a day, and typically on that day her natural labour started! She was fine to still have an EMCS but it just made things more difficult/dramatic I think. The midwife did ask if she wanted to have a go naturally but the baby was breech so it was a blanket no!!!

Surprisedmom · 19/12/2018 11:56

@Babybeany it sounds like baby has just moved and your ribs are expanding (mine were painful for a few days and all my bras stopped fitting then so I figured they were expanding). But if you’re worried just give your midwife a call and ask what they think.

welshweasel · 19/12/2018 13:23

Section all booked in for 22nd jan - eek!

Since2016 · 19/12/2018 14:41

Fx for a calm ELCS! I will be steering well clear of sweeps and raspberry leaf tea! Im fairly confident it will be fine but you never know.

I had the most horrific back ache / rib pain last night. I was in floods of tears and have barely slept. I think it’s shifting position - I feel your pain! It still hurts to breathe!
