We have spent the day wallpapering I'm knackered. DH was going to do it on his own but the paper kept tearing so 8 hours later we have 2 wallpapered rooms!
Think I'm going to regret it tomorrow!

I would like to meet up with anyone whos willing after baby is born. I have hardly any mum friends as all my friends are same age or younger than me and either traveling or partying hard and then theres me😂

I just know this baby is not going to hang on another 9 weeks hes been head down since 27weeks and has not moved and then loosing my plug plus having a thin cervix and pressure just all adds up. DD was 4weeks early so im fully preparing myself now just need to make hospital bag up put kind of forgotten what I would really need and what was useless last time i mean i live opposite hospital so guess its not too bad! Has anyone else done theirs?

babyp160 · 08/12/2018 22:47

@Lulabell1 my little man has been head down since day 1. Well every scan anyway. They just say he is comfortable. Does this mean something then?

Everything is ready baby wise but I wear most of my things I will be taking.

beckyxo · 08/12/2018 22:47

@Lulabell1 that's such a nice idea! I would definitely be up for a little meet up! Where is everyone from? I'm just outside Oxford at the moment but moving back home to Bath.

I've had my hospital bag packed since 26 weeks... I came 4 weeks early and my sister 6 weeks so chances are this little girly won't be late either (I've probably just jinxed it now though! 😂) plus my mum has been banging on about it for ages so I thought if I just did it she would be slightly less annoying! I swear every human out there is winding me up at the moment!!!

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 08/12/2018 22:54

@Lulabell I'm in the Canterbury Area. Anyone else.

AutumnLee12 · 08/12/2018 23:20

@Lulabell1 yeah that's a nice idea, I'd be up for that! I don't really have any close friends with dc! I'm in Richmond area, think a few of you aren't too far!

I also have no clue what part of the body is where with my baby 😂 I just assume it's all kicks but it could be anything haha!

emalady · 08/12/2018 23:20

@lulabell1 I've done a rough hospital bag but need to repack. Think I'm going to rearrange it into a bag for me and a separate bag for the baby. It's difficult to know if I should pack some of my comfy clothes or keep wearing them.

Lulabell1 · 08/12/2018 23:33

@baby160p not always especially if its been since first scan. But usually when the are head down and stay like that at 28weeks ish they are getting ready to engage in the near future! They can sometimes be head down and then end up changing and then go back again.

Think i will make that my mission tomorow and go primark get some hospital buts i took some mini toiletries last time which came handy as i stayed in overnight x

sickmumma · 08/12/2018 23:33

A meet up would be fab! I have older children and quite aware I need a good network of mummies this time round again to keep me sane!

I haven't packed my hospital bag yet (28weeks now) i think I will after Xmas! My babies have all come at 38 weeks so I would like to think I only have 10 weeks left but I am sure this little pickle will prove me wrong!

Did our Xmas shopping today just got a couple of bits to order online and we are done!! I feel astatic! Didn't make it into Brighton as the boys football overran and I wasn't feeling great so thought Brighton and the hills might be a bit too adventurous! we went to Crawley instead as there is also a big smyths toys store there and just to go somewhere different! Can't believe how busy everywhere was!

Lulabell1 · 08/12/2018 23:55

@sickmumma I sent my poor partner to the shops with a list its DD birthday Monday and I still need some xmas gifts its busy time of year for me no good when your meant to be on bed rest! I asked him to get A “LOL bigger suprise”which wasnt the best idea as he hasent stopped moaning how much it costs since! Why are toys so expensive these days?! Im 31 weeks Tuesday and I just cant even think about going another 9 weeks it makes me sick how much im moaning now defo been harder this time x

hayley013 · 09/12/2018 03:35

I'm north so don't think there's anyone near me in the north east for meeting up.

@Lulabell1 our dd is LOL crazy, pricey but tbh I've found she plays really nice with the stuff so it softens the blow of the cost. Rather get her something she gets the use out of than not.

I'm awake, again, heartburn is SO bad now, gaviscon and rennie are not helping for long, I'm gonna call the doctor on Monday and see if there's an alternative as it's really severe, anyone else had to get something stronger on prescription?

sickmumma · 09/12/2018 07:19

My daughter also loves the Lol dolls! We haven't got the big surprise this year but managed to get her a few of the normal balls half price on amazon Black Friday deals! She spends ages playing them in her dolls house!! This year she wanted washimals! She's so much easier than the boys to buy for I could just keep buying Haha!! The boys wanted football boots and console games and it costs a fortune I think I've probably spent double on them for the same sized pile!

It's my daughters 5th birthday in jan I'm slightly dreading shopping for that! I hope she has a great day! Have you got anything planned?

Surprisedmom · 09/12/2018 08:34

@hayley013 you might find the iron tablets help you sleep better. I don’t know why but when my iron was low I became a very restless sleeper with lots more nightmarish dreams and after a few weeks of taking them i’m sleeping much better. My mom takes iron tablets and said the same.

Yakadee · 09/12/2018 08:58

Halifax for me so think I'm a bit too far to meet but a nice idea.

32 weeks for me today - the weeks are flying by! Feels really good to know baby will be making an appearance next month (and scary how quick she'll be here too!!!)

Xx

Lulabell1 · 09/12/2018 09:34

@hayley013 they prescribed me something that is the same as nexium? Dont think thats how you spell it!! It works a treat.

@sickmumma I have planned her a party next weekend and I have gone overboard with presents this year as she is 5 understands everything now and its her last birthday/Xmas as a only child!

powkin · 09/12/2018 11:53

I’m in Newham but having baby at Homerton and work in Hackney and Tower Hamlets if anyone lives over this way or more central and ever wants to meet - most places were easy for me to get to but who knows with pram/baby in tow! I swear there were a few others having Homerton babies!

Absolutely don’t have a hospital bag although I’m not due until 22nd Feb and want to see if we get any sort of baby haul from Irish family at Christmas! My mum has been really quiet about it and I don’t want to seem pushy, I’m sure she wants it all to be some nice big surprise but I find it stressful not knowing what I need ASAP!

AliceRR · 09/12/2018 15:04

I’m in Leeds @Yakadee I’m sure there were others around this area too

Surprisedmom · 09/12/2018 15:42

I have just found out that the midwife unit i’m giving birth in now has no working water baths and no intention of fixing the one they do have that is out of service. I’m really peeved about this as they’ve closed most of the midwife led units in the county (which includes one 15 mins from my house where I have my midwife appointments and that is absolutely lovely) and so this is my only choice for birth! Anyone else frustrated or unimpressed by their options locally?

Yakadee · 09/12/2018 16:11

@AliceRR - yeah, I thought there were a few of us x

emalady · 09/12/2018 16:32

@sickmuma I grew up in East Grinstead, you must be that way if you popped into Crawley?

I'm hoping Christmas stuff is basically sorted.

Woke up with a bit of an anxiety at 5am, so tired! 😴

powkin · 09/12/2018 16:50

@emalady - I woke up at 5am too, but with horrible heartburn. Was awake for an hour and stupidly went back to sleep until 10am so feel all out of kilter.

Had the “everything that can go wrong giving birth” antenatal class today. Due to weird medical thing local anaesthetic doesn’t work well so got upset during the parts about epidurals, I’m absolutely praying I don’t need one as the stress of them experimenting on me to see if it works really scares me. Also the whole process looks horrible.

Pip is currently kicking/punching me right in my right side. Feels absolutely horrible!

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 09/12/2018 16:55

@Surprisedmom I think it depends what you're looking for.

When I had my first, I was adamant that I wasn't going to a midwife unit and an actual hospital. I was quite nervous and wanted lots of machines and medical options and everything available as I found that eased my nerves.

This time, I'm staying at home as I know I don't need any of it.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 09/12/2018 18:20

Local anaesthetic doesn’t always work on me either... pretty sure that’s where my needle phobia came from, as I had to have stitches when I was ten, and could feel every stitch despite them telling me I couldn’t 😕

My sisters ex-MIL was left disabled by an epidural, so all in all... I’m really not keen on one!

Surprisedmom · 09/12/2018 18:31

@Thesnobbymiddleclassone the midwife led unit is in the hospital for me so I know i’m next to the consultant led unit should anything go wrong. I live far to rural/remotely to feel comfortable about a home birth even though I hate hospitals, so I was just hoping the midwife unit would at least be able to give me options to feel calmer/more relaxed. I’m a total water person so know that it would be a really calming thing for me and I’d set my mind on it thinking it was an option (their website still says it is). I guess now i’m just upset I have to throw my vague birth plan out the window before I even go into labour.

Notquiteagandt · 09/12/2018 19:03

Snap midwife led unit is in the hospital for me. It is the floor above. Only differs treatment wise that you cant have an epidural as there is no specific anaesthesist to the ward. But it has privaite ensuite rooms with birthing pool in each. Aromatherapy rooms and a gym room. With equipment for an active birth.

The main maternity ward has no birthing pools or extras thats the only differance.

Currently I am consultant led but they are happy for me to go on the midwife led ward. But of course that could change.

I cant believe how much care varies place to place and area to area.

I feel so lucky. I have been so so so impressed with my care so far.

Got my parentcraft nhs antinatal class tomorrow so we shall see how that goes. Get to hear more detail about how the hospital works.
