@beckyxo welcome back! We are not doing any this time as is second baby but we did do NCT last time. Was worth it to meet other people especially if you are moving to a new area.

I’ve not booked got any classes this time as I didn’t really find them helpful with previous children.

I like to do my own research, and plus I don’t really like meeting people... so the social aspect was wasted on me.

They don’t cover anything you can’t find online so I’ve opted out this time.

Back from my scan and baby is perfect! She's by no means small either - currently approx 4lbs8! If she keeps following the same line we're on for a 9 and a half pounder! X

Celebelly · 06/12/2018 18:04

That's great news, Yakadee! She must just be hiding in your tummy Grin

Yakadee · 06/12/2018 18:08

@Celebelly - that's what the midwife thought (said she was curley Haha). Glad everything was fine, got to have a really good look at her too so that was a bonus!

Glad I'm having a section though! Lol

Celebelly · 06/12/2018 18:13

Haha, I'm bricking it about our massive child and just keep repeating one of the positive birth affirmations from my hypnobirthing course: 'my baby is the right size for my body' Hmm Hmm Hmm Hmm

twiglet · 06/12/2018 18:18

Any recommendations for hypnobirthing material? I looked at attending a local course but it was crazy expensive!
There are so many available both free and not I'm completely baffled!

Celebelly · 06/12/2018 18:22

I'm working through this:

thepositivebirthcompany.co.uk/digital-pack/

It's really good value for money I think. There's a lot of content, loads of videos covering everything from the science of giving birth to advocating for yourself in labour, etc. as well as printable handouts and MP3s. I think even if you decide the hypnobirthing part of it isn't your bag, there's enough other stuff in there to make it worthwhile. Just the science stuff is really fascinating and I feel a lot calmer knowing exactly what's going to be happening with my body in labour.

babyp160 · 06/12/2018 19:30

I'm so f*ing tired. Work was a struggle today. Can not wait to be off 😢

Yakadee · 06/12/2018 19:41

@babyp160 - when do you finish? Feel for you x

AliceRR · 06/12/2018 19:45

@Celebelly Thanks for the link. I might go for that too.

@babyp160 I feel a bit conflicted about work. I’m finding it harder as I’m tired and not as focussed and I’m quite emotional / irritable/ easily stressed (!) but at the same time I’m also stressed about what will happen when I leave and my position

I’ve got 20 days annual leave so I’m thinking I might try to go down to three / four days a week after Christmas

babyp160 · 06/12/2018 19:54

@Yakadee and @AliceRR

I finish 18th January. I'm also off 23rd December - 10th January so not long at all.

I just always feel like I'm doing something wrong or they're being picky when really I'm struggling!!!

Also nausea is back so feeling very shit and sorry for myself

Since2016 · 06/12/2018 19:56

Just had my physio referral through. Group session - sounds good. BUT. On my last day at work. At 12. And it’s an hour each way to and from work... agh.

My boss wants me back after Christmas. I’ve been doing well till this week but now knackered despite wfh one day and off tomorrow, and the leg swelling has started... not sure I’ll be up for the tube at 35 weeks!

Yakadee · 06/12/2018 20:06

@babyp160 - I know what you mean. I feel like they just expect too much from me. I finish on 16th Jan and have two weeks off Christmas (thank God!).

Just found out that they are advertising a secondment for my job for full time and I'm part time - that tells a story!! X

babyp160 · 06/12/2018 20:18

@Yakadee what's your due date?

Oh really that shows how hard you work!

Mine advertised with extended hours and I always feel like I'm rushing around like a blue assed fly so it does show.

I've just been sick for the first time in this pregnancy. Hoping it isn't a bug!!!!

Yakadee · 06/12/2018 20:32

@babyp160 - I know, I feel like I work my butt off and feel like I'm always chasing my tail!

I'm due 3rd Feb but having a section so it'll be sometime the week before.

Thankfully my boss (who unfortunately can't really call the shots - his boss' boss etc etc) is amazing! He's been so supportive and he keeps telling me to take time off and look after myself x

twiglet · 06/12/2018 20:42

Thanks @Celebelly will check them out I'm waiting until scan as I will know for definite if I am having an elective or not after that but it still gives me 5 weeks in theory to do it!

My work is nuts at the moment, my casework has reached its highest level since I started 18 months ago.

My businesses have freaked out about me going on mat leave so firing everything at me! I had to have a go at one of them and request realistic start dates as I've had to triage code my work load!

emalady · 06/12/2018 20:43

@twiglet and @Alicerr I'm using natal hypnotherapy www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk/shop/Natal-Hypnotherapy-Premium-Package-MP3-s-on-USB-Stick---Hospital-Birth-Centre-CO612.html#SID=1140 there is a separate pack for c-sections. Goes through relaxation, labour and breastfeeding as well as a pdf of the book. I really like it. Just giving you more options!

@beckyxo I'm doing NCT but mainly to meet other mums. I also had a 1:1 with a hypnobirthing instructor as there are no local classes that would work. If you aren't as interested in the social aspect that might be good, she was a midwife so could explain things if needed.

babyp160 · 06/12/2018 20:44

@Yakadee you're doing well then. I planned to be off a couple of weeks before but changed my mind and having 4 weeks off before!!!

Yakadee · 06/12/2018 20:54

@babyp160 - don't blame you! If it wasn't for Christmas in between I think I'd be doing the same. X

AliceRR · 06/12/2018 21:11

Thanks @emalady I will have a look at that too 🙂

AliceRR · 06/12/2018 21:40

Is anyone else looking at the Cozee bedside crib? I haven’t heard much about it and I was set on a snuzpod3 but DH and I saw the Cozee in Mothercare and he really liked it. I have looked at reviews and it seems pretty good and easy to use. Wondered if anyone else had one or had any thoughts on it? 🤔

Rowse · 06/12/2018 22:11

I just had a look at the cozee crib after seeing your post, I also had my mind set on a snuzpod but I love how much easier it is to pack for travel compared to the snuzpod.

babyp160 · 06/12/2018 22:27

I haven't been sick the whole pregnancy until tonight. Someone just told me this is concerning. Is it?!?

babyp160 · 06/12/2018 22:34

@AliceRR @Rowse

I read a post on this crib somewhere about them having a fault and being wonky. I can't for the life of my find it but there was a whole group saying they thought it was their floor or their bed and used books to balance it out until they found out it was the frame.
Hope this helps.
