Well work havent taken me bringing my maternity forward very well! Begging me to stay until Christmas to train my cover as im the only manager in salon. Find it a little selfish as im really struggling. On the up side we have our 4D scan tomorrow so exciting!!

Surprisedmom · 06/12/2018 22:36

@babyp160 I shouldn’t think so unless you suddenly start being sick loads. It could be that something turned your stomach or just that with the baby getting bigger your digestive system is throwing some back up.

emalady · 07/12/2018 06:21

@baby160p sounds unpleasant but can't see why it would be worrying. As baby get bigger and pushes up the valve at the top of the stomach doesn't work as well hence the reflux but also much easier to vomit if poorly, coughing or offensive smells.

babyp160 · 07/12/2018 06:36

Thanks ladies! Xx

AvoidingMarking · 07/12/2018 06:48

@Baby160P
My first pregnancy I was sick until 21 weeks and then it returned at 30 and I was sick again till the end.

Not anywhere as bad this time but I find if I've done too much or stayed up too late I do get sickness again.

Camsie30 · 07/12/2018 07:20

Morning all! Is anyone else really suffering with dry skin? I'm so fed up with it, have red, almost scaly patches under my nose and on my chin. Never had it before this pregnancy. I feel like I've tried everything and it's not shifting. Any tips? X

powkin · 07/12/2018 08:16

@Camsie30 I’d recommend trying some La Roche Posay Ciclaplast Baume B5 on it. Your skin might have become more sensitive so maybe worth looking at a more gentle skin routine if you’re contains rich oils or perfumes creams. You could try Cerave dry skin wash for your face and superdrug is very good for their cheap own brand sensitive products

Rowse · 07/12/2018 09:22

Thanks @babyp160 there was a review on Mothercare with that issue, they said they used magazines to level it under two legs but it was a pain. I think if it's a wide problem I'd rather not buy it as that sounds really annoying!

beckyxo · 07/12/2018 09:25

Thank you everyone recommending NCT classes! I will definitely check them out and see what they have. It's my first baby and I'll be doing it solo so could use all the help I can get! Not entirely sure how to change a nappy 🙈 x

powkin · 07/12/2018 09:55

I got a new hot milk bra and pants set on eBay for a discount, I feel so much more human again in a nice bra! I also got some bump bands.

I’d really recommend the seller:beautifulbumps2babies - the delivery was really fast and she has a lot of sizes on offer, so worth having a poke through her shop.

lanalawr · 07/12/2018 10:15

Don't worry @beckyxo I'd never changed a nappy before dd was born. I thought dh had put her first nappy on when I was in the shower but it turned out the healthcare assistant did it for him. There'll be people on hand to show you anything you're unsure of.

MummyBM · 07/12/2018 10:24

Hello! Has anyone experienced doctor's who don't listen/ fob you off?! Had intense pressure/pain in my back sides and bump the last couple of weeks, have been off work this week as hardly been able to move, also had a little spotting. I have been told I have PSD so on reduced hours at work but this pain has been so extreme especially at night.

I've been to the docs 3 times in the last 2 weeks as midwife never has any apps to see me, and they told me urine is clear and I'm just pregnant, probably just having a bad day of PSD (basically nothing is wrong I'm being dramatic). Ended up in hospital on Wednesday and long story short I have a kidney infection, which I've had for a few weeks as its flared up and is the cause to my intense back pain and spotting in urine! Thankfully nothing some antibiotic's won't sort and a little TLC, however, I feel so annoyed at the doctors as they could have sorted this weeks ago if they had checked me properly.

beckyxo · 07/12/2018 10:40

@lanalawr ahhh thank you! That has put my mind at ease. It's definitely going to be a learning curve! x

Notquiteagandt · 07/12/2018 11:03

Anyone have any reccomendations for magazines/blogs/books to read?

Another day stuck in bed and feel like reading.

Already read Juno & Green parent this morning.

@AliceRR @Rowse I looked at that crib too. The deal breaker was the side just rolling down rather then cliping down or it coming off. Reminded me a little of the best nest. So made me cautious and probally needlessly paranoid.

Celebelly · 07/12/2018 11:40

I've just booked a pregnancy massage for Tuesday after my second antenatal class. Really looking forward to it! Has anyone else had one so far?

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 07/12/2018 11:44

@Notquiteagandt when I had DD I read the Plantagenet / War of the roses series by Philippa Gregory. It's also a TV series (The White Queen) if you like a box set.

Today my HG is just not good. Trying to stick it out at work as I don't fancy being sat at home on my own!

Anyone else's baby moving really low down? Ours is right down low to the point I thought she was going to kick her foot out of my vagina! This never happened with DD, her movements were always quite central and higher up. Feels like I'm constantly going to wee myself when she does it.

Surprisedmom · 07/12/2018 12:11

@MummyBM that sounds awful and I can see why you’re annoyed. I have often heard of doctors not figuring out what’s wrong sooner due to a refusal to consider anything except their first thought, certainly a number of my friends and family have experienced this whilst not pregnant. Hope you don’t have any more issues and get a better doctor next time if there are any.

powkin · 07/12/2018 15:48

@Celebelly I’ve had a lovely back/neck/shoulder massage at a walk in back rub place in Covent Garden (it’s a branded place with shiatsu massage and they have quite a few in central London if anyone is interested!). It was so lovely and relaxing. I can often find massage tense and painful but I think all the extra hormones made me a lot less sensitive in many ways so it was blissful! Only 20 minutes but I might be tempted into a 30 minute one at the weekend Grin

Lulabell1 · 07/12/2018 18:55

So after a 45 minutes appointment with a very wriggling baby we had our 4D scan but was so hard to get a full picture he kept putting his hand infront of his face! Very happy with window to the womb and couldn’t recommend anymore they offered us too come back is we wasnt satusfied! X

AliceRR · 07/12/2018 19:20

@babyp160 @rowse @Notquiteagandt Oh that’s a shame. It’s difficult to know but DH likes this one. I think I’ll go have another look as I only saw it in passing in person

@Thesnobbymiddleclassone My baby is feeling quite low down. I’ve had a feeling like she was kicking me in the vagina for weeks but now think her head is moving down and I get a heavy feeling down there plus sometimes I feel a bit of pressure on my vagina which is not very pleasant

AliceRR · 07/12/2018 19:20

I mean pressure on my bladder 😂🙄

DragonFlew · 07/12/2018 19:21

Finally found the most recent thread! Sorry I've been absent for a while I couldn't find you all!

AliceRR · 07/12/2018 19:23

@Lulabell1 We were not actually that impressed with Windows to the womb. They were pleasant enough and we got some lovely views of the baby but we thought it seemed a bit rushed plus afterwards, while we were going through the pictures, three of them were standing around talking loudly which we found a bit unprofessional

I used them because other people had spoken well of them

emalady · 07/12/2018 20:08

Presumably all the scan places are slightly different, I haven't had a 4D scan but went for harmony test ages ago and it was a tiny over hot room. Nice people but running late and rubbish facilities. Have heard better things about the one more locally (ultrasound direct).

Lulabell1 · 07/12/2018 20:35

@AliceRR we used them 3 times with this prenancy early scan, gender and now 4D at the chessington clinic and they were amazing! There was only 2 people working in there but im quit impressed sorry you didnt enjoy your time in there! X
