Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi all,

I had my scan yesterday - due date is 7/5/19. It all went really well and baby was wiggling about. Then in the last 30 seconds the sonographer spotted a small sibchorionic haematoma (pocket of blood behind the placenta) which has totally totally freaked me out (it was all going so well). It might go away (reabsorb) or just sit there being small and causing no issues. I think it’s only if it grows that they’d really worry. I have another scan at 16 weeks to monitor it. If anyone wants more info I panic posted about it yesterday : www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3409519-Subchorionic-Haematoma-advice-handhold-please?watched=1&msgid=82200933#82200933

People have been really lovely. I need to keep very busy but also rest (haha, I have a 10 month old) and avoid heavy lifting. Other than that it’s just a waiting game till 16w.

Good luck to all getting their scans x

SurfingOwl · 31/10/2018 14:33

What a worry @Shazafied but I’m glad it was found so you can be monitored. I’ve got everything crossed that you get reassuring news at 16 weeks.

I really hope I get to eat all the treats we bought in case of any Halloween visitors tonight.

Shazafied · 31/10/2018 15:09

@surfingowl thanks xx

CatflapFlapjack · 31/10/2018 17:18

Hi again everyone, as a reminder I’m 32, DC#2, scan brought my due date forward 3 days to the 6th May. Scan went well although baby was really wriggling around so she sent me out to do half a wee to try and get at it from a different angle but didn’t have much luck! She got a decent pic at first though:

@shazafied happy you had a good scan & have your EDD. Last bit sounds stressful. Good it's being monitored though, on the plus side you get to see your little one an extra time.

@catflapflapjack lovely scan picture

frankiefumbles · 01/11/2018 07:32

Hi guys!!

I'm 27, 11+3, NIPT 2nd Nov, 12w scan 7th Nov (date buddy @Amolly ). Had two early MCs but feel I'm over the "danger point" now but got my fingers crossed. Looking forward to showing 92yo granny the NIPT scan. She's never really seen a live ultrasound before!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 01/11/2018 08:07

Glad the scans went well ZoeOutdoors & CatflapFlapjack. And Shazafied, that sounds worrisome but try to focus on the baby being well and growing nicely. It won’t be long until your next scan and you can see the baby wriggling around again! Hopefully by then it will have reabsorbed.

We didn’t get any trick or treaters last night, despite living on an estate with loads of little ones. I could hear them going past, but they either didn’t knock or I didn’t hear it! Good for me though, I ate most of the Quality Street tin we bought for them Grin

Beckyv88 · 01/11/2018 16:29

Hi everyone,

I haven’t posted in a while! So good to see your scans. Can’t wait for mine, as some others said I don’t really feel pregnant any more especially as symptoms are easing and I just want reassurance. I do have a small bump but might be bloating? I’m almost 11 weeks. Anyone else have a bump then??

I guess people are starting to tell family and friends? Any cute/funny ways you’ve revealed the news?

dreaminofholidays · 01/11/2018 17:40

Evening all.

I've been off sick today, hate being off work but just feel terrible.
I'm 11+3 today and my sickness/nausea has been worse than ever I think. Is anyone else experiencing this? I thought it was meant to start easing off now. x

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 01/11/2018 18:07

Hi Beckyv88 Smile I’m pretty sure I’ve had a bump since BFP!! I’m definitely putting on weight at a ridiculous rate with my shit diet, but there’s also an undeniable baby bump now. I’m 14+5 and my stomach muscles never recovered from my last pregnancy, DS was only born in January!

Sorry you’re feeling so sick today dreamin. Don’t feel bad about taking time off work if you’re too unwell to go in, you need to look after yourself Flowers hope you feel better soon.

frankiefumbles · 01/11/2018 19:19

@Beckyv88 I heard someone was announcing at Christmas with a card to their children saying merry Christmas from your little brother or sister. I think that's super cute

ZoeOutdoors · 01/11/2018 19:36

@dreaminofholiday my nausea turned to actually being sick at week 10 and hasn't eased off yet in week 13 :-(

Amolly · 01/11/2018 20:14

@Beckyv88 I'm feeling the same. Don't feel pregnant anymore aha. I still can't eat a lot and still have serious food aversions but nothing else. I kinda miss feeling sick and sore boobs as bad as that may sound especially to those who are feeling so bad.

I hope it eases off a little for those still being sick.

Really looking forward to next week's scan now. I've been counting down for a month aha.

Most of my family know now, were very close, but for everyone else I'm doing an announcement. I draw so currently do a lot of 'work in progress' posts as I'm going. My next work in progress post will be a drawing of the scan :)

frankiefumbles · 01/11/2018 21:31

@Amolly no food aversions but everything stinks today! Yuck

Sooooo I was thinking. What happens to the blood test results from the booking appointment? Do you hear them at the 12 week scan? Posted? I'm kind of curious because they also tested to see if I have had chicken pox which I have always maintained I haven't had.

Firstbornunicorn · 01/11/2018 21:33

@frankiefumbles I'm really interested to know if I've had chicken pox, too!

inkworks273 · 01/11/2018 21:53

Hi everyone. It's been a few weeks since I've posted here. I'm suffering with horrible all day/night nausea. We had to come home from holiday a week early about 4 weeks ago and I haven't been able to go back to work since.

The actual being sick isn't too bad and only happens occasionally but the nausea is so debilitating. I feel so guilty for all the time I've had off work.

I've tried two types of medication from the docs, neither of which worked so I've given up taking them.

I'm at my wits end and just hope it's over soon.

Pebblespony · 01/11/2018 22:00

My nausea was pretty low grade up to now. The minute I hit 10 weeks it got significantly worse. I'm hoping it's a sign that everything's still ok in there. No scan till 14th. Seems ages away.

Firstbornunicorn · 01/11/2018 22:20

@inkworks273 seems pretty similar to what I've been experiencing, although my vomiting has ramped up in recent days. I've been given cyclizine and odansetron (the film one) by my GP today. So far I'm not sure cyclizine is doing much but odansetron is taking the edge off the nausea.

I've been feeling pretty guilty for being off work as well, and being unable to do much of anything except for lie in the foetal position with my jaw clamped shut. At 13+1, it only seems to be getting worse. But my doctor today did say it should start to ease up soon.

Hopefully you'll find something that works for you and start to feel more like yourself soon. It's not easy.

inkworks273 · 01/11/2018 22:29

@Firstbornunicorn I'm 11+ 1 and was hoping against hope that I'll start to feel better once I reach 12 weeks. Doesn't sound good though if you're still suffering at 13 weeks!

I've tried cyclizine and another one beginning with a p but neither made any difference.

Maybe I'll try the doctor again and see if there's anything else she can give me.

Nausea must be one of the worst things you can have 😢

Firstbornunicorn · 01/11/2018 22:35

@inkworks273 definitely ask for odansetron. It's not a miracle, but it only took about 10 minutes for me to feel a bit better. There's been no research to say it's safe during pregnancy, but no indication that it isn't. My doctor said that the benefits outweigh the risks.

Btw, weirdly, my biggest trigger for vomiting seems to be walking downstairs. So, my advice is to avoid stairs. Maybe buy a bungalow?

MrsReader · 02/11/2018 00:34

I'm still suffering at 13.5 weeks with sickness. Been diagnosed with HG after being hospitalised at 10 weeks due to dehydration . Just vomited again tonight. Been signed off work 4 weeks now, when will this settle down?? .

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 02/11/2018 07:48

Maybe buy a bungalow? 😂😂 What an odd trigger though! Never heard of that before.

I don’t know if it’s reading about all this nausea but I feel a bit nauseous this morning, for the first time in a couple of weeks. Hopefully something to eat will help.

zoClueless · 02/11/2018 08:19

@frankiefumbles I'm 14 weeks now and haven't heard anything about the bloods they took at my booking in appointment. I think the midwife said that I'd be getting those results at the 16week midwife appointment.
I assume that if they had shown some major issue I'd been contacted....
I had my 12 week scan on a Monday and had to then go to the hospital blood test clinic for those bloods to be taken. I then got a letter in the post giving those results/the combined test results by the Thursday. Although I know someone who leaves in a different area had her combined test bloods done in the hospital a few days/week before the 12 week scan and then got the combined results on the day of the scan itself.

Firstbornunicorn · 02/11/2018 10:30

@FrazzyAndFrumpled movement of any kind is not good, but walking down a flight of stairs is a guaranteed vom sesh. And I live in a townhouse 4 flights of stairs 🤢

Firstbornunicorn · 02/11/2018 10:34

@MrsReader I don't know when it'll settle down but I feel for you. I'm being monitored for HG too, although it would be on the milder end of the spectrum as it's mostly crippling nausea with a few episodes of vomiting per day.
Gentle hugs and sending well wishes your way!
