Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Beckyv88 · 05/11/2018 13:02

@tedlife I have it next week (at 12+4) really can’t wait. It feels like such a long time to wait not seeing anything. I just hope everything is ok and then if it is we can finally tell our parents. His are desperate for another grandchild so will be so happy. Sorry you have to wait for so long, the hospitals do seem to be a bit lax. I didn’t even get a letter for my first appointment just luckily rang them to check as I was getting worried!

purplestar9 · 05/11/2018 13:18

@TedLife I didn't have my scan until I was 13 weeks (but they pushed my dates slightly so I was actually 12+6), I really didn't want to wait so long but it's all worth it in the end!

I'm so sorry to hear about all of you who are still feeling so crappy. I hope the sickness eases for you soon.

I am suffering with a trapped sciatic nerve sometimes which is pretty painful. But it's not all the time so I'm counting myself lucky and I've told myself I need to get a little more active to try and ease it off!

Sorry to hear all you lovely ladies are suffering with sickness and yuckiness!

@purplestar9 have you considered a pregnancy massage? I’ve got really painful sciatica too and had one on Thursday and it made a real difference.

Anyone else suffering with heartburn and reflux? I’m really struggling and am guzzling gaviscon by the bucket load but it’s not helping anymore. What can I do? X

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 05/11/2018 15:55

I’m getting occasional heartburn, at the most random times. It doesn’t seem to be linked to anything. It’s manageable at the moment, which is good because I hate Gaviscon.

CatflapFlapjack · 05/11/2018 16:56

Sorry to hear that a lot of you are feeling worse, but reassured because I am too! I wondered if I’d had some sort of virus but my symptoms have just been an exaggerated version of my normal morning sickness, so possibly not! I’ve just been absolutely wiped out the last 4-5 days.

@firstbornunicorn giggling at you buying a shower seat 🙈 I keep having to have baths though because I can’t stand up for more than 5 minutes!

TooManyBooksTooLittleTime · 05/11/2018 17:47

I'm also so tired I can hardly move and feeling really sick. This will be DC3 and I think it's safe to say I don't ever bloom and just keep feeling rotten throughout, happy if this pregnancy proves me wrong though!

Scan tomorrow, can't wait but also very nervous that something is going to be wrong (previous pregnancy ended in mc so the last scan I had was to confirm loss).

lifechanginglemoncake · 05/11/2018 18:06

Can I ask a question about booking scans?

Where I live the midwife requests a 12 week scan after the booking in appointment and then you get a letter with the date. I had my booking in appointment last Monday when I was 9+5. Now 10+5 and still no letter.

I'm starting to worry that we'll have hardly any notice and DH won't be able to get out of work meetings etc. Either than or we'll miss the testing window.

I've text the midwife to chase but nothing so far. Any advice?

rosettesforjill · 05/11/2018 18:30

I went round the houses for ages trying to get a booking in appointment - I had my scan appointment letter weeks before! I recommend ringing as many numbers as you can find, including the antenatal department at the hospital, as they'll know if an appointment has been made and your letter has gone awol.

lifechanginglemoncake · 05/11/2018 19:20

Thanks @rosettesforjill I think I will do that if nothing comes tomorrow or I don't get a response from the midwife.

inkworks273 · 05/11/2018 19:49

I'm 11+4 and I just had my booking in appointment today where the midwife said she would refer me for my scan. Sounds like I will be having a late scan too!

bumblebee39 · 05/11/2018 19:55

I'm going to be 12+2 at booking in so definitely late scan!

purplestar9 · 05/11/2018 21:42

@UntilTheVeryEnd I hadn't thought about that to be honest. I googled stretches I can do to try and help and I'm going to try and get a little more active which should also help.
This cold just seems to be lingering, it's driving me nuts now. I thought it was going a few days ago but it seems to have re-appeared! I just sneezed and it hurt my nerve again!!

Pebblespony · 05/11/2018 23:20

We do the booking in and the scan at the same appointment.

Rubberduckies · 06/11/2018 07:23

I'm having my scan at 13 weeks too TedLife I got a letter with a scan next Thursday when I'd be 12+3 but it was complicated for me for work and Dh wanted to come too so I had to change it. I'm telling myself that extra week so be worth it, baby will be bigger and moving more and we might get a better photo!

I feel pretty awful most of the time.i only throw up every few days but I feel like I'm about to throw up almost constantly, and it's worst in the evenings. I cried yesterday because I didn't know what to eat because I was hungry and the thought of everything made me feel sick....

TedLife · 06/11/2018 10:41

@purplestar9 and @Rubberduckies I feel better knowing it's not just me who's having it a bit later. You're right, baby will be a little bigger so hopefully it'll be even more special to see!

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish @Rubberduckies that sounds truly miserable xx

lifechanginglemoncake · 06/11/2018 12:31

So I waited in for the post today thinking there must be a scan letter today but nothing. Decided to call and after ringing a couple of numbers managed to get to the antenatal reception who were super helpful.

My scan was already booked in but naturally was the one day within the 3 week scanning window that I have an all day work meeting 100 miles away. Sigh.

Cue much texting DH and calling back reception then me crying because the only date DH could do was almost a week later and I had an irrational pregnancy moment thinking it's so hard to wait another week.

Long story short, DH managed to move a work meeting and on my third call back to hospital the lovely receptionist has booked me in for scan on 19th November when I will be 12+5.

I need a cup of tea and a sit down now. What a drama queen I've become!

lifechanginglemoncake · 06/11/2018 12:34

I'm with you @Rubberduckies - I nearly cried yesterday because DH accidentally got meatballs in tomato sauce out of the freezer to go with our salmon dinner instead of ratatouille. And then I wanted the meatballs instead of salmon which I had gone off by that point.

Managed to eat the salmon and a baked potato and a bit of salad but all I wanted was loads of pasta and tomato sauce. It's getting ridiculous how much I just want to eat beige.

purplestar9 · 06/11/2018 13:16

@lifechanginglemoncake I do find it funny how our brains can make things so irrational when we're pregnant!
I admit, I've only had one day really where I had a breakdown and just wanted to cry all the time. I had to try and explain to my husband why I was feeling down but of course I couldn't stop crying so that was fun... that was a couple of weeks ago though.

OP posts:
frankiefumbles · 06/11/2018 16:49

@lifechanginglemoncake I can really empathise on the meatball salmon issue. All DH wants is salmon and the smell is just killing me. I've just bought the cold ready cooked salmon and left it cold with salad so I can't smell it.

I'm craving tikka masala curry sauce and naan bread 😳😂😂😂

lifechanginglemoncake · 06/11/2018 16:57

@frankiefumbles tell me about it!
Thankfully it is meatballs tonight. I keep craving pasta with spicy sauces. That and spaghetti hoops on a giant jacket potato. Double carbs - not good!!

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 06/11/2018 17:05

I’m all about the beige food here too! Also craving curry, although I’m extra sensitive to spicy food right now so I’d have to get something mild and boring! I feel so guilty for having such a shit diet, and I’m not even remembering to take my vitamins. Ah well, I’m sure it will pass soon ... it’s got to, right? Confused

fadgadget · 06/11/2018 17:46

Around the 13 week point I started to feel noticeably less crappy and was able to start exercising (some) self control over what I've been eating. More like 3 meals per day again rather than 3 with a meal in between each to quench the nausea. I haven't been as tired but the last days its been quite full on, maybe a bit of a growth spurt going on. I still feel a bit sick in the morning from time to time but generally its much better. I hope everyone starts feeling more like themselves soon, its nasty, and hard to be excited when you feel so rubbish xxx

Beckyv88 · 06/11/2018 19:23

Funny reading everyone’s stories about being irrational/emotional. Sounds just like me... all the time for my whole life Wink

Also, feeling you on the carbs. So hard not to, it’s all I want. And cheese, so I’ve started eating vegan cheese as a snack.

Firstbornunicorn · 06/11/2018 21:01

I've been feeling somewhat normal this evening! I'm still on antiemetics, but usually feel a bit ill on them anyway. Maybe this is the beginning of the end for the sickness.

MrsReader · 06/11/2018 22:11

Thought I was getting over the sickness so I deliberately missed one of my pills today and the puking is back dammit 😔
