@SurfingOwl I think it's unlikely they'll operate but will find out when he sees the surgeon, who I assume is doing more urgent things at the moment!

SurfingOwl · 30/10/2018 12:36

@purplestar9 I’ve self diagnosed flu now. I have all the symptoms and it’s been going on over a week now, whereas I think I would have shifted a cold. I might be being a touch melodramatic but I figure I feel unwell enough to justify it!

I hope he, and you, get answers soon @rosettesforjill

purplestar9 · 30/10/2018 13:20

@SurfingOwl oh dear, it must be bad! I'm hoping mines going to start shifting now, I've not felt the need for paracetamol as much as yesterday and I feel as though I'm 'emptying out' (nice!) haha.

On another note, does anyone watch the bake off? It's the final tonight! I'm stupidly excited haha!

Also been struck with the cold since last Thursday night. Hoping the end is in sight now as it's made me the walking dead in terms of tiredness again 😴

rosettesforjill · 30/10/2018 15:24

@purplestar9 I love Bake Off! I want Kim Joy to win - she annoyed me at first but she's really grown on me ever since the space turtles

TooManyBooksTooLittleTime · 30/10/2018 15:32

I'm really rubbish at posting, but commenting so this pops I'm on threads I'm on and hopefully I won't lose track of it again.

I think I'm around 11 weeks, but wasn't entirely regular so that could all change at the scan. I quite like this thread being may-ish, as I feel nicely in the vague and approximate spirit!

purplestar9 · 30/10/2018 17:03

@zoClueless it's rubbish isn't it! I hope it's goes for you soon.

@rosettesforjill I know, I feel the same about her to be honest. I liked Jon too, but that could have been because he was welsh! Haha, shame to see him go though.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 30/10/2018 17:39

I really liked Bake Off before the switch to C4 - not keen on the presenters or Prue, and Paul has just been an absolute arsehole for the last few weeks and too freely giving handshakes before that. So I’m not so keen now, but still watch because I love baking. Don’t put any spoilers on here, I might not get a chance to watch it tonight!!

SurfingOwl sorry you’re feeling so unwell. I had a really awful cold (and a secondary ear infection with hospital admission) which took me over 4 weeks shift enough to feel ‘ok-ish’ Sad hope you feel better soon!

Turtle05 · 30/10/2018 18:58

I'm a bit of a quiet follower, really find reading this thread reassuring!

Amolly · 30/10/2018 21:13

Amolly, 29, DC1, 11 weeks today, 12 week scan 7th Nov :) getting excited now

earlybirdhasanap · 31/10/2018 07:10

Just realised the old thread had filled up.

purplestar9 · 31/10/2018 07:27

Happy Halloween! (I don't even like Halloween!) I think my cold is finally on its way out now, I slept so much better last night, now it's just the very irritating and currently loud tinnitus that I need to calm down a bit!
How is everyone today?

OP posts:
zoClueless · 31/10/2018 08:25

Also had a much better nights sleep last night - although still room for improvement! Hoping this is the last day of the cold now. 🤞🏻

Glad to hear it's also tailing off for you!

ZoeOutdoors · 31/10/2018 09:15

Hope everyone is doing well as we count down to the second trimester.

I had my scan last week, it was amazing! I was worried about going on my own in case something was wrong (husband couldn't get the day off work) but as soon as the scan touched me my little been popped up on the screen wiggly about like crazy! I'm letting myself get excited now.

I've been in the lake district the last few days doing lots of walking, I am so slow going uphill now, get out of breath really easily. Had random aches and pains in my hips/knees/thigh too but didn't feel sick once so the fresh air must have been good!

Happy Halloween! As a former goth I ‘should’ like all things spooky but tbh it gets on my nerves a bit now. Although was thinking of a spooky film to watch with the dc and my daughter suggested Coraline and all I could think was ‘that’s, pretty! And is going on my name list’

Starting to feel a bit better symptom wise. But having the obligatory ‘does that mean somethings wrong’ panic.

SurfingOwl · 31/10/2018 10:23

Lovely picture @ZoeOutdoors and I’m glad your scan went well.

Hope those of you who are unwell are starting to feel better now. I suppose I should be glad I don’t have to contend with pregnancy symptoms as well as I feel so awful with whatever bug/flu I have.

Kescilly · 31/10/2018 10:27

Beautiful scan @ZoeOutdoors!

dreaminofholidays · 31/10/2018 12:06

@zoeoutdoors wonderful scan picture! xxx

rosettesforjill · 31/10/2018 12:40

That's a gorgeous scan pic 😊

UntilTheVeryEnd · 31/10/2018 13:15

@zoeoutdoors gorgeous scan picture! Amazing detail x

purplestar9 · 31/10/2018 13:23

@ZoeOutdoors it's so exciting when you see them on the screen isn't it! I was really nervous before mine too but as soon as I could see it on the screen I couldn't stop smiling!
I'm glad everything is well for you!

@HalfBloodPrincess I'm not a big fan of Halloween either to be honest but I would guess it's a little different when you have young children? You can sort of make it fun.

I'm feeling a lot better pregnancy wise, just gotta shift this cold and hopefully I can then enjoy the second trimester!

rosettesforjill · 31/10/2018 13:26

@HalfBloodPrincess we're making some Halloween goodies ("snot tails" and banana ghosts) but DS has been getting frustrated at all the waiting involved - jelly needs to set and ghosts need to freeze!

HalfBloodPrincess · 31/10/2018 13:44

My dc are 15, 14 and 16 months so either too old or too young to be into it all. Last year I dressed the toddler up and made ‘bumkin’ prints but I don’t teally have the energy to do anything this year. Might just open a tub of quality street and eat them to myself 😂

rosettesforjill · 31/10/2018 13:48

I have bought a load of treats, but we've never had anyone in the two Halloweens we've been in our house - we live up a hill on quite a busy road and have a few steps up to our house so it isn't the most attractive proposition for trick or treaters! It would be a shame if I had to eat them all again this year...
