Fingers crossed for you that it all goes smoothly! :)

Lorrie3 · 04/12/2018 16:36

@fadgadget which one did you buy? Would be interested to know how you find it as currently really want to buy one as suffering with hip pain. Price is an issue as don’t want to spend too much but I don’t want to buy a rubbish one and end up having to spend more!

fadgadget · 04/12/2018 16:39

Hi @Lorrie3 - the Dreamgenii one in the link below though it was a few quid dearer not sure why, its patterned but other than that looks the same.

I don't think it's the end of the world if you end up on your back sometimes.

fadgadget · 04/12/2018 19:03

Agreed, I just keep waking up loads and having a very disturbed sleep, and it’s just another annoyance keep rolling over. Occasionally I have pins and needles which I think is from being on my back - willing to try anything that helps!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 04/12/2018 20:18

I’ve got a huge U shaped one - ordered off amazon, was my SiL one - it’s fab because it has a sausage pillow all down your front, a bit for under your head and then a sausage pillow down your back. This design has stopped me from rolling onto my back so much as it cocoons you. Has made a massive difference to my sleep so would defo recommend one. Never had one for my previous pregnancies and genuinely I missed out big time x

Pebblespony · 04/12/2018 20:39

I got the dream genii too but I sleep on my side anyway so I didn't need it to keep me off my back.

Pebblespony · 04/12/2018 23:38

So, DD has ulcers all over her tongue and I presume it's hand, foot and mouth disease. She's screaming the place down. I'm in bed with a raging temperature, shovelling paracetamol into me, trying to bring it down. Poor DH is having a crappy night.

rosettesforjill · 05/12/2018 07:38

Oh no @Pebblespony! Do you think you picked it up from her? DS had it a few weeks ago and was ok with it except for the ulcers in his mouth (no tomatoes!!) so hopefully she'll be feeling better soon.

rosettesforjill · 05/12/2018 07:39

@zoClueless our extension has started as well - look at the state of the back of our house...

May-ish 2019 - thread 3!
zoClueless · 05/12/2018 08:11

@rosettesforjill I'm almost looking forward to the garden looking like that just to get it all done. Feel very underprepared though, need to make loads of decisions about things like what flooring we want downstairs. The internal works mean that we need to redo all the floor and all we know so far is that we don't want carpets!
Glad that yours has started already too - fingers crossed we both manage to finish up before the new arrivals 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

dreaminofholidays · 07/12/2018 05:22

@rosettesforjill @zoclueless exciting your extensions are underway. I love looking at house stuff. Fingers crossed all goes to time and plan.

@fadagadet I also keep waking up on my back. Hence the 5am post. I've always slept on my back so finding it very difficult to adjust. I get pins and needles too sometimes. I also have a dreamgenie not sure it's made much difference! xxx

Beefandmixed · 10/12/2018 19:42

Hi everyone I think I joined you ladies last month and Iv been quiet since, if not I’m pregnant with dc number 3 due May 8th.
Because of a low papp a Iv been for my first extra scan today at 18+5 and could unmistakably see we are having our third little boy! Thankfully everything so far is looking as Iv read some horror stories about low Papp a so I’m massively relieved at this point but il know more on my next scan next month.

On the pillow topic I also have a dream geni but Iv preferred just making a nest out of all the pillows on the bed including oh and I find it helps me stay on my left longer.

fadgadget · 12/12/2018 16:36

Had 20 week scan today, couldn't quite check everything they wanted due to baby position so going back another day to try again as there a waiting room of others to see. Guess its nice to have an extra peek at the baby again soon!

zoClueless · 12/12/2018 19:31

@fadgadget did they get to update you on the things that they did manage to check? How long do you have to wait for the next one?

fadgadget · 12/12/2018 20:18

@zoclueless yes everything was fine and within normal range/sizes! Smile

Baby was moving the wrong way around for him to properly see the heart chambers but it was beating away so he said try again another day but it doesn’t mean there’s a problem.

I called the hospital when I got home rather than wait for a letter and managed to get an appointment just before new year so not too long, I think the notes said it should be before 23 weeks so they would had to have squeezed me in one way on another in the next few weeks. I think there’s a chance if they are really busy they can send you to any hospital within the trust and I couldn’t be bothered going somewhere else as I live really close to one of them.

I have a friend who had to go back twice for similar reasons after her baby wasn’t in the best positions for the 20 week scan. They had me off drinking coke (which I never do), which didn’t make a darn bit of difference lol. Stubborn child.... they do what they’re told once they’re born right.....? Grin

zoClueless · 13/12/2018 14:39

Haha, i think if we used Coke and chocolate like they do with the scans to get them to behave once they are here we'd have some very different reactions! Glad you've not got to wait too long and that they could update you in the meantime with what they could measure.

We had our 20 week scan this morning. Was also in awkward position for some checks and had to lay on my side for some of it (so couldn't see the screen 😕). Almost meant we couldn't find out the sex but at the very end baby moved just enough for some reasonable confidence - we are team blue! 💙

They were happy with the checks and growth - although looking at my print out seems we are very low on the percentile chart for at least one thing. Trying not to read into it as he verbally told me he was happy wth the measurements.

UntilTheVeryEnd · 13/12/2018 14:57

Lovely to hear about all the scan news! It’s exciting to think we are all progressing to the next stage of things - doesn’t seem so long ago we were talking about early and 12 week scans Smile time flies!

fadgadget · 13/12/2018 22:07

Congrats @ZoClueless!

We decided not to find out the guy told us to look away at one point just in case there was something to see and then we both kept looking while telling the each other to stop it and look away 😂 Though it’s so difficult to figure out what’s what we didn’t really know what we were looking at anyway.

@untiltheveryend time really does fly. Can’t believe it’s halfway now. Starting to get mentally prepared for labour and birth and trying not to be too last minute about it all!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 17/12/2018 16:08

I had my 20 week scan today and all looking well! The sonographer confirmed my suspicions of an anterior placenta... set my mind at rest a bit knowing there’s a reason I havnt felt baby move. I’m 22 weeks on Wednesday so hopefully be feeling something soon 😂

Hope everyone is keeping well!

fadgadget · 18/12/2018 15:10

Congrats @untiltheveryend :)

I had a bit of a lull in movement the last few days but managed to get an on call midwife to come and check me and all was fine, baby might have just changed to a position where its harder to feel anything.

CatflapFlapjack · 20/12/2018 08:15

Had my 20-week scan the other day and found out that we’re having a girl! I’m absolutely thrilled as we already have a boy and would love to have one of each.
The scan took a while for the same reason as @fadgadget, baby was being very stubborn and laid on her front the entire time - but she managed to see what she needed to eventually and all was fine Smile

inkworks273 · 27/12/2018 11:45

Hi ladies. I hope you all had a nice Christmas!

I had the midwife today and got the results back for the downs test. She said it's low risk with odds of 1:740.

To be honest I was expecting it to be more like 1:10,000 and now I'm a bit worried. I'm 32 so wasn't expecting my age to factor in too much.

What do you think?

Paradyning · 27/12/2018 12:19

Generally the public see an acceptable risk as being 1 in 1000 or over. I can see why you're worried and I was too with similar results. However if you look at it the other way there's a 1 in 659 chance of a non/affected baby.

If you are really worried and can afford to do so the Harmony test is excellent. But it is £££
