Hi all

May I join you? I am 14+1 with baby number 3. Due May 29th.

X

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 29/11/2018 19:51

Hi inneedofaliein. Congratulations on your pregnancy! How are you feeling so far?

Pebblespony · 30/11/2018 13:47

Think I felt a kick last night. I drank a ton of coke (at the cinema). Poor kid was having a sugar and caffine rush.

rosettesforjill · 30/11/2018 13:54

Aw lovely @Pebblespony! Movement has really picked up for me in the last couple of days - about 9-10am and just after lunch tend to be active times at the moment 😊

Firstbornunicorn · 30/11/2018 14:29

@Pebblespony apparently my friend had a private gender scan but the baby was asleep and wouldn't move. They sent her to the waiting room with a bottle of coke and 15 minutes later, he was bouncing off the walls! 😂

UntilTheVeryEnd · 30/11/2018 14:59

Awww so lovely to hear baby’s are wiggling away! Still not feeling movements here Sad hoping I will soon feel something (19+2 & third baby)

Lorrie3 · 01/12/2018 12:04

Question for you all re bumps!
I'm 15 +3 and really have nothing only s tiny tiny little bulge low doen that could just be weight its not hard. First baby
I'm just wondering if this is normal and will my bump just pop out of nowhere eventually?
I know there's no 'normal, but I'm in that in between stage of few symptoms and feeling nothing

Pebblespony · 01/12/2018 14:10

I didn't get a noticeable bump with my first until about 20 weeks, I'd say. This time it was much, much earlier. Also, some people get smaller bumps if baby is lying differently.

bellaclava · 01/12/2018 14:54

No idea about bumps, as it's my first baby too, but I'm 15 weeks and I had a semi-noticeable 'bump' last week (people were commenting on it) and now it's gone! So assume it was just water / bloating ... A little bit disappointing if I'm honest, I was quite excited to start looking pregnant haha!

Lorrie3 · 01/12/2018 16:01

@bellaclava same here at this point I just want to be showing now

inneedofaliein · 01/12/2018 18:44

Thanks Frazzy.. I'm feeling ok thanks. Better than a few weeks ago but praying for the second trimester energy to kick in so that I can do all of the stuff I've been putting off for 3 months!

Definitely have a bump here. To be expected with a third I guess. Slightly awkward as I haven't yet told my boss so having to keep it quiet at work until I have. Meeting on Weds. will be a relief!

Must try and work out how to send a PM so that I can join the fb group. Do I need to be on the laptop for this does anyone know? Doesn't seem to be an option in the MN app?

Xx

rosettesforjill · 01/12/2018 20:14

@inneedofaliein yeah you need to be on the website rather than the app. I think you can get them on a mobile if you can get on the desktop site

inneedofaliein · 02/12/2018 10:19

Thanks Rosettes- just done x

UntilTheVeryEnd · 02/12/2018 10:54

Woke up this morning to a wee bit of blood on my pad Sad it was brown (sorry tmi) so can’t say if it was brown or red when it came out - phoned the unit and they said they will listen in with the Doppler, so hopefully all will be ok. They won’t scan me tho - despite the fact I told them I had really bad shooting pains down below all day yesterday.

rosettesforjill · 02/12/2018 17:08

@UntilTheVeryEnd oh no, how worrying - did you get in to see them?

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 02/12/2018 17:17

I had a little bit of blood on Thursday, UntilTheVeryEnd, so I know it’s a worry! It was just a spot after using the loo, so I didn’t phone them. Have had quite a lot of pain in my tummy & back the last couple of days, but no more blood and I’ve felt th baby move a few times... so I’m hoping it’s OK. Did you go in to the MAU?

UntilTheVeryEnd · 02/12/2018 18:33

Thanks for the support ladies, really appreciate it! Yes I did go to the unit and the midwife had a listen in with the Doppler. Found baby’s heartbeat no problem which was a relief. Was told to monitor blood and pain and go to the bigger unit if I needed too. Thankfully no more blood. She suspects I have an anterior placenta which is why I’m not feeling any movement yet. Feeling happier now that I’ve had a bit of reassurance - it was defo the right thing for me to go in, couldn’t have settled otherwise

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 02/12/2018 19:04

I’m glad all seems to be well. Did they say what they thought might be the cause of the bleeding?

UntilTheVeryEnd · 02/12/2018 22:07

No they didn’t! They only suggested that my shooty pains were just because it’s my third 🤷‍♀️ Was genuinely in for like 5 mins - a quick Doppler and a BP check and I was set free. The bleeding was so small so I’m not too worried - I was glad of a legit reason to go in for a Doppler tbh - this whole no movement thing is what’s bothering me worse than the small show of blood

zoClueless · 03/12/2018 13:53

@UntilTheVeryEnd Glad to hear you got some reassurance over the weekend. I too am getting more impatient to feel movement and have been advised of poss anterior placenta. A couple times this weekend I've felt some suspicious pops/bubbles but still not 100% sure it's not stomach or wind. I'm 18+5 now.

Not sure if people will remember back from thread one but we had a house extension set back not long after finding out about pregnancy - that work wouldn't start til march, which isn't great with an early May due date. Well, we heard from builder this weekend and he can start in January! Such good news although now we need to make lots of quick decisions about flooring, kitchens and everything extension related. And also get a party wall notice to our neighbours and hope they are happy to waive the normal 2months required (a little nervous about this one)

fadgadget · 04/12/2018 11:03

You should get the notice to your neighbours asap - at least it will only be end of January/early Feb if you do it soon if they take the 2 months. And the builders could start on other things in the meantime before they start touching shared wall, there's usually loads to do. Smile

Is anyone having trouble sleeping? I keep waking up on my back and panicking a bit, I always sleep on my back and am not adjusting to sleeping on my sides.

Any recommendations for good sleeping pillows? They seem pretty expensive, I can't decide if its worth the money. I've read good things about one called Dreamgenii which is cheaper than most, but it still looks like you could roll onto your back without too much effort if you ask me. I've been sleeping badly for at least a month now, and am normally a good sleeper, its really frustrating being so tired all the time.

fadgadget · 04/12/2018 11:34

In fact looking at those reviews it doesn't sound like it stops back rolling, pah.

Paradyning · 04/12/2018 15:09

The sleep genii one is really good but really expensive. It comes in handy as a feeding pillow after too.

fadgadget · 04/12/2018 16:06

I've actually just bought one as I was in John Lewis and figured I'd give it a go. A lot of the others which are recommended are well over £100 which seems mad, so this was reasonable by comparison... if it works that is.

zoClueless · 04/12/2018 16:21

@fadgadget DH went to speak to them and gave them a notice (we just adapted a template as it looks like there's no particular format just needs to be in writing) last night. Hoping they sign it quickly - they did know about the plans as we spoke to them before the planning permission stage. Fingers crossed it's all ok.

I have that dream genii pillow. I got it because I wanted one that I could use to support my legs as had some pain and I wanted something that didn't take over the entire bed. It might help a little with rolling over but not completely. I find sometimes I wake in an inbetween side and back position. Which I guess is better than completely flat!
