@laburna My ds was born on 7/8/17, I think the only one born on that date?

Sorry to read it’s not been an easy journey for you this year - fingers crossed this is the one!

Now it’s been a few days since bfp i’m getting more and more worried about mmc/chemical/ectopic - this waiting stage is brutal... glad to have a hugely distracting toddler to occupy me!

ratherbeshowjumping · 30/10/2018 16:01

Hi @DianaBlythe - sounds like you've had a tough time TTC, so pleased for you re your BFP 🤞🏼
Re welly thread 🤣 - I'm hoping none of that will be happening again in the next 9 months. I really can't deal with that 🙈

Can't believe how many 6th July's there are already!

Squ1ggle · 30/10/2018 16:07

@Brainfried1986 I'll be in the exact same position with my DS at my booking in appointment, DH will be in Japan and I'll have to have DS with me but he's almost 4 so will be able to understand everything and I don't want to have to have that conversation until after the scan really. Dithering a bit but will probably tell my parents and ask if my mum could watch him while I'm there.

TwittleBee · 30/10/2018 18:01

Omfg forgot how much your boobs kill! And I'm already feeling nauseous too 😫 also is 6pm too early to go to bed 🤦‍♀️ How's everyone else coping with symptoms?

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 18:26

I wish I had proper symptoms

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 18:28

And my boobs don't hurt that much which just leads me to believe I won't produce milk yet again. My body is shit.

Sorry, I'm one of those moods that I can't shift today. Just doom and gloom

MummyG82 · 30/10/2018 19:25

I didn't have any symptoms at all with my ds. I didn't know I was pregnant with him till 8 weeks!! He was conceived on our wedding night!!! So this time I have every symptom under the sun n it's a complete shock tbh. Ds keeps accidently hit my boobs n I just try my best to not react but it bloody kills! I've just started getting heartburn the last few days which I never get! Started back at work today after a weeks holiday n my work colleagues noticed my tummy isn't flat like it used to be!! Think I'm gonna struggle hiding this one till 12 weeks!!!!

Laburna · 30/10/2018 19:46

@MummyG82 just blame it on too many (mince) pies! It's nearly Christmas after all 😂🤣

MummyG82 · 30/10/2018 19:56

@Laburna good plan lol 😂

I think hiding the nausea is gonna be the hardest part lol. I normal eat loads on my lunch break but I just don't fancy anything at the moment but making myself eat something. But I'm not complaining at all. I kinda like all the symptoms 😂. Woke up this morning not feeling nauseous n got worried. Then bam!! There it is!! I'm happy again 😂

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 20:53

MummyG82 that's exactly how I feel about the nausea in the mornings.

Frazzlerock These things do definitely come and go, and it's still v early. It won't be long until you're clutching the sofa for a bit of relief. It's just time to do things like plan lovely outfits while you're not feeling too rough. Btw I did write that diary. 😊

To all of your with children - how long did it take to show with your first? Do I need to start planning Christmas clothes a bit differently? I'm 4w2d still and mostly just very bloated rather than bump.

Belmo · 30/10/2018 21:10

I think I needed maternity clothes about the 16 week mark with my first (was struggling to do up my jeans for a couple of weeks before that though). Was more like 8 weeks with my second!! Maternity jeans are the best!

I seem to have moved on today from doing hundreds of pregnancy tests a day, to going to the toilet every 5 mins to check I’m not bleeding Hmm Cannot wait til 12 weeks!

Belmo · 30/10/2018 21:12

Frazzle I had no symptoms at all with my first, honestly apart from the lack of periods I could have got to about six months without realising!
Have been feeling less sick today but more grumpy!

MummyG82 · 30/10/2018 21:16

@StargazyDrifter with my DS I started showing at about 15 - 16 weeks and that was only very slight. I wasn't very big at all. I think it depends on the individual though, there's lots of factors to take into account ie size before pregnancy, how much you eat during first trimester, how much you exercise, etc. Even if you are having a boy or girl can make a difference, my sister was tiny with her boys but bloated early with her girls!
Sorry that's not overly helpful to answer your question.

silverrose56 · 30/10/2018 21:19

@StargazyDrifter I think it was about 14/15 weeks but mostly just for trousers at first. I managed to make my tops last for a while longer.

@Frazzlerock my boobs aren't hurting, just slightly tender. They didn't hurt the first time and I'm still feeding my 20 month old so it probably isn't a sign of milk production.

I'm definitely grateful for the toddler distraction, it's reducing the amount of time I spend worrying about the lack of symptoms.

Brainfried1986 · 30/10/2018 21:23

@StargazyDrifter Just looked back at all my bump pictures, and reckon around 16 weeks I was showing, tho I was rather good at dressing to hide it! I was really bloated early on (6-10 weeks) and felt huge, but I don’t think it showed to anyone else. Didn’t tell some people at work until at least 26 weeks (v obvious by then when wearing closer fitting clothes! I bought a load of maternity clothes around about 17 weeks, but found trousers got tight quite early on so switched to elasticated jeans (they are freaking awesome by the way, why the hell don’t we always wear elasticated jeans?!?!)

I’m genuinely so excited to get all my maternity wear out again - and so glad that the timing means I should have the right size for the right seasons (ds was an August baby)

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 21:28

Thanks Belmo and MummyG82! Sounds like the January sales might be well timed for me. Interesting about the gender differences!

I have a small frame and I'm a size 10, but not stick thin and tend to carry weight around the middle. My regular wardrobe is suited to a squishy middle, so should do for now. 🙈

TwittleBee · 30/10/2018 21:31

I remember that bloating feeling so well StargazyDrifter but it really wasn't obvious to anyone until I was 20 weeks! And didn't "pop" till I was about 22 weeks even though I carried completely on front and am only a size 6/8.

Frazzlerock oh I am sorry you are worrying, really try to look at it positively though that you've no symptoms. I am sorry Flowers

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 21:31

Thanks silverrose56 and Brainfried1986 that's also really good helpful! I have written down elasticated jeans in my little list!

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 21:33

TwittleBee thank you also. Did you ever work out a good way to 'deflate'? I feel like I'm made of trapped air. ☹️

Starryeyed1001 · 30/10/2018 21:55

After it taking so long for this to happen I still can’t believe it is, keep waiting for it to all go wrong again so trying hard not to get attached but not really succeeding x

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 22:26

I know exactly what you mean, Startyeyed. The wait is getting shorter every day though and the probability of things going wrong also reduced every day. It's really tough through. Just woke up because of some cramps and immediately dashed to to loo to check. Nothing. No doubt to be repeated. Hugs.

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 22:28

This really helps me put stuff in context when I'm in a negative frame of mind:

@StargazyDrifter Glad it’s not just me - I religiously follow this one: spacefem.com/pregnant/mc.php?m=09&d=29&y=18 Waiting for that 6 week point so I can feel a little more positive...

Brainfried1986 · 30/10/2018 22:41

DH is away in Europe until late on Thursday and i’m feeling like I want to text someone for support right now (beginning to feel more anxious now the reality’s hitting home) but don’t actually want to tell anyone irl yet. I guess I should just go to bed, the overthinking is knackering me out!

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 22:53

Ooh interesting link, but your one gives higher odds! All an are rather than a science, I'm sure.

I think if you can nod off it will do you a world of good. Have you tried the Andrew Johnson pregnancy mindfulness stuff? It's a bit twee but I did it last night and found it helpful.
