We've our 12 week scan on Xmas Eve so would be perfect to tell family on Xmas day but I can't wait that long! Ha

Would love any reveal ideas for our other kids? Thinking of a ballon, which says we're having a baby, in a box for them to open. Will video & send to family. Cheesy but I love it! This will most likely be our last - wanna enjoy every minute.

Laburna · 30/10/2018 12:34

My midwife is booked for the 16th November, and I'm waiting for my consultants PA to phone me today to let me know about the early scan.

I think my 12 week scan would be the week before Christmas week, if my dates are right. I can't think that far in advance though, it makes me cry 😂 I'm a useless puddle at the moment!

My brain has gone, not sure it ever recovered from the first baby to be honest. The dog was being a total arse yesterday and it took me until 4 to realise it was because I'd forgotten to feed him or give him his tablets! Absolute fail!

ratherbeshowjumping · 30/10/2018 12:34

The Christmas card idea is lovely 😊 we have already told quite a few people - my 3 closest friends (we come as a 4 😬) know, my parents, DH's parents, his DSis guessed as she popped over for a catch up on the weekend & I had my head in the loo 🙈
My parents were thrilled, DSF burst into tears... MIL said, "oh great. We had a lovely meal at pizza express last night" 😳👍🏼

ratherbeshowjumping · 30/10/2018 12:36

My midwife appt is 28th Nov too - quite late judging by everyone else's? I'll be 12 weeks on the 28th Dec, unsure if my 12 week scan will be after Xmas or before?

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 12:50

I've just contacted the midwives to ask them when I should expect to know scan dates etc. She said they don't normally book in until 8 weeks but will get the midwives to ring me back.

I just tried to call the GP surgery to find out if the early scan was going to be booked by the GP or by midwives but obviously they are closed for the afternoon Hmm
I think I'm just gonna book a private one, I can't stand this.

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 12:55

Hi @edidxb welcome to the group. If you like you can find the list and copy and paste it and add yourself.

I am taking progesterone and baby aspirin. praying with my entire 100% highly atheist soul that it works.

Although and please excuse the WAAAAYY TMI but when I put the progesterone in, about 10 mins later it all starts leaking out again! I have to put a panty liner on! I worry that it isn't doing anything as most of it comes back out again when it melts Confused

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 13:14

Welcome edidxb!

Just back from the GP, reassurance scan at 7 weeks 19 November or so, and have to wait until the hospital write with booking appointment details and 12 week scan details. Was prescribed Cyclizine for nausea. GP wasn't sure what the latest was on baby aspirin and suggested I ask the midwife or at the reassurance scan?! I haven't got a diagnosis of clotting problems, but seems to be a frequent precaution for people who have MC'd before. Blood pressure 'high normal', but no advice given.

I got given a small Emma's Diary pack on reception, it contains stuff like nappy and washing powder samples. Also an information/vouchers booklet. Not sure what I think of all that, seems a bit random to get that from the NHS!

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 13:34

Good news @StargazyDrifter seems you got more out the GP than I did.

Well I've just ordered a dress for the work xmas party. A maternity one because tempting fate seemed like a good idea Hmm

God I hope I get to wear it. It's a second hand jojomaman one and really lovely. I'll be 12+4 by then so deffo will be poking out (if little Popsy is still with us by then)

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 13:36

And now I keep thinking I'm a fool for doing that. Last time I ordered a maternity dress for our summer party our baby died at 9 weeks Sad and I never got to wear it. In fact it is still hanging in my wardrobe 2.5 years later Sad

Squ1ggle · 30/10/2018 13:40

I've just arranged a midwife appt for 29th November, they won't see me before then. Feels ages off!

pancakes22 · 30/10/2018 14:00

@Frazzlerock stay positive and fingers crossed this is the year you get to wear BOTH those dresses. 😘

@Squ1ggle How did you go about booking your midwife? Did you have to wait for them to get in contact after your referral?

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 14:02

Frazzlerock you're totally no fool for buying that dress. The previous stuff is all it is - sad, singinifant, but previous stuff. It shouldn't overshadow this lovely new pregnancy. It's like falling in love, you've got to try and go head first and not let the past rob the present. (Says the woman who daren't write the happy news in her own diary... but I will today!). Hugs.xx

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 14:03

Thank you @pancakes22. I'm very woe is me today.
Then I got a nice bit of reassurance about 5 mins ago when a huge wave of nausea swept over me! I hope it was baby, or maybe my tight leggings digging into my stomach.... That was my first bout of nausea. I feel like celebrating Grin

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 14:04

sorry crossed posts, and thank you @StargazyDrifter
PS. Write it in your diary!

Squ1ggle · 30/10/2018 14:05

@pancakes22 I tried calling the community midwife team but couldn't get through so just called my gp

pancakes22 · 30/10/2018 14:05

Hooray! I've never celebrated nausea before but I am totally up for celebrating this with you!!

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 14:21

Haha! Hooray for nausea! I've just eaten some soup, half way through got worried that it wasn't making me feel sick like yesterday. Ten minutes on and I feel sick and bloated and very pleased with it. Only in pregnancy!

Brainfried1986 · 30/10/2018 14:23

Hi everyone!

Needed some early pregnancy chat so thought i’d see how you other July 2019ers are getting on!

I got my bfp on the weekend, after a week of steadily more definite squinters! Went for a clear blue digital one and my hand was actually shaking as I saw it say pregnant!

Very much planned, this will be dc2 and edd is 6th July - my period only came back last month (ds is 15months and i’m still bf) but luckily I was using opks so have a good idea of dates.

So far i’ve had loads more symptoms than at this stage last time - cramping, slight queasiness, tiredness, hunger/feeling sick/not really sure Confused - feels a bit early for all of that, but I guess things may be a bit different second time round?

I’ve got a lovely group on Facebook from ds, but don’t want to bore them with all my pregnancy neuroses!!!

I saw the gp yesterday, and got my booking in appointment for November 27th, when DH is away for work, which will either mean taking ds with me (wrangling a toddler while having bloods taken. Hmmm...) or telling my parents, but I don’t really want to tell them just yet. Think I will tell my sister first, but just letting it settle in for a few days first. Might even wait to tell PIL/parents until Christmas, but plenty of time to think about that. I’ll be 12 weeks on 22nd Dec, so hoping for a pre-Christmas scan Smile. Generally speaking don’t think I need to go for a scan any earlier than that, but i’m sooooo tempted, might look for a voucher and then decide!

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 14:43

Hi @Brainfried1986 welcome to the group.

Hi @brainfried1986

Should probably confess now that I was in your other bus..... 😂🤣

awakeatnight · 30/10/2018 15:05

I'm also in the club of worrying about lack of symptoms! My first 2 pregnancies I didn't realise until after 5 weeks so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Prickles of nausea but think it's in my head as much as anything and slightly sore nips. Anyone else keep touching their boobs to gauge sensitivity or is that just me being weirdly anxious?!

I've just confirmed my midwife etc dates - a reassurance scan at the EPU on 13 Dec because of my missed miscarriage at 10 weeks, followed by booking in (as too scared to go through it before 10 weeks confirmed l) and my 12 week on 21 Dec. I'm petrified and already had a cry over the phone to both the EPU and regular midwife!

Have taken the liberty of adding myself, hope that’s OK.

BFP at 11DPO last Sunday, short cycle, EDD around 4/7/19. Have been peeing on sticks like a crazy person ever since and they do seem to be getting darker.

Small amount of browny discharge this weekend just gone but all seems to have cleared up. 2 years of TTC and was due to go on NHS IVF waiting list at appointment next week. Absolutely terrified. A bit tired and a few lower abdominal grumblings but otherwise no real symptoms other than AF being a week late so terrified about that too! No sickness and haven’t lost the taste for anything. Still very much want highly caffeinated beverages and wine!

GP surgery said to pick up a pack and fill in a form and midwife would be in touch within 2 weeks so nothing yet. Going to have an early scan with the fertility clinic we used privately for tests a year ago. They said phone when you’re around 7 weeks and they’d get me in.

@starryeyed1001 your story really resonated with me.

@ratherbeshowjumping - hope your MIL isn’t too difficult, I remember the welly situation!

@edinburghlass - bless you what a rollercoaster it was just reading your story.

DianaBlythe · 30/10/2018 15:19

Having really mixed feelings about telling people. I’ve been quite open about the difficulties trying to conceive and I’d be open and honest about a miscarriage with close friends but it’s the thought of people getting excited for me and having to have multiple conversations if it all went wrong.

Had to tell a friend as she was ordering me a bridesmaid dress for her wedding next year. My parents saw through my lack of drinking despite my efforts with the alcohol free wine. Another friend I’m going away with in November asked directly so I was honest. My boss also knows because of having to reschedule appointments and complicated planning for next year. I now kind of feel guilty that some of the people who know are not my bestest friends (I know) but it just feels like a lot of people know, maybe more than I really want to. I kind of just want to quietly get through the next couple of weeks. Especially after the bleeding.

DH hasn’t told his parents and he’s feeling bad about that because mine know. I’ve said I don’t mind but his parents will be a lot more attentive, interested and worried than mine and it’s just are we ready for that? He was going to phone them but now going to wait for 7 weeks scan.

Brainfried1986 · 30/10/2018 15:26

@laburna Shock I don’t know who you are cos your username isn’t on the list! You are super sneaky! But very exciting to be on another bus together Smile

Laburna · 30/10/2018 15:30

@brainfried1986 I NC a long time ago, after we switched to Facebook I think. I don't know who you are either, I was trying to work it out from due dates, but there were too many people and the EDDs were so out by the end 🤣
