@StargazyDrifter oh that sounds tough. Do you have any chance to rest or do you already have children/working? X

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 08:23

Hi @pancakes22 @shouldidoitspoilt and @TwittleBee and welcome to the group Smile

Well, after @edinburghlass1991's amazing news I can't help but think we are a very lucky group!

I'm good this morning, still no nausea. Am I mad to wish I had it?

I had to help out at Cubs last night. 15 rambunctious 9/10 year olds in a very echoey, freezing cold and falling apart hut in the middle of a field. That was NOT my idea of fun, I was dreading it and had I known I'd be pregnant when I signed up, well, I wouldn't have bloody signed up! All I wanted was my nice warm duvet on the sofa in front of the telly. But I got through it alive! Then I remembered I signed up twice. Shame on me for being such a good samaritan.

I've decided to start writing a daily journal to our little Popsy. I'm not sure what I'll put in it as my days are pretty mundane. It'll probably be: got up, went to work, was bored all day, came home, sorted your brothers out and fell asleep Grin
Maybe the weekend entries will be slightly more thrilling?

New list!

Frazzlerock I had a journal for DS which I started writing once he was born, by time he was 3 months I found I barely remembered or had time to write in it, now he is lucky if I make a monthly entry lol!

pancakes22 · 30/10/2018 08:43

@Frazzlerock no not crazy, I kind of am thinking the same re sickness! I think it's just that classic symptom where you know it's definitely pregnancy whereas at the moment all these other little symptoms here and there that I probably wouldn't be focusing on if I hadn't had the BFP. With my first pregnancy I had early scans at 4 and 6 weeks so I had that reassurance whereas it feels really weird this time thinking that i don't have that extra clarification.

Journal sounds a lovely idea. I do a similar thing for my DD where I write an email to her once a month with everything we have been up to etc. Whether I will be able to do the same when there are two keeping me busy I don't know!!

Does anyone know how long it normally takes for the midwife to get in touch after you submit the referral?

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 09:13

Good job @TwittleBee I was going to wait until we all have our official dates but, actually, better it's sorted now and we can each tweak if we need to Smile

@pancakes22 exactly. I do have excessive thirst and a terribly dry mouth like I have lost the ability to make saliva, but then get a watery mouth at random times of the day. Plus that disgusting bitter taste.
I also with my boobs hurt a bit more. They feel slightly bruised if I press them but nothing major. I'm 6 weeks on Saturday so I'm hoping more symptoms will develop just to give me peace of mind.

Re midwife letter, I saw my GP last Monday and had hoped to have my reassurance scan date through by now but nothing Sad God knows when the midwives will get in contact. But i am feeling really impatient and constantly nervous so I just need something tangible and official, you know?

TwittleBee · 30/10/2018 09:15

Frazzlerock yeah if my last pregnancy is anything to go by my date will change to around the 5th July! I know how you feel about wanting something tangible, I'm tempted to book a private scan at 8 weeks.

Squ1ggle · 30/10/2018 09:29

edinburghlass1991 I'm so so sorry,

Can I tentatively add my name to the list? 1-2 weeks on a CBD this morning so EDD 10th July. this would be DC2, I have DS who is almost 4.

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 09:53

Thanks pancakes22! I don't have any DCs but I do quite a demanding job that leaves me flat out most days as it is. Called in sick today. I can't help but wonder whether the last 3 unsuccessful pregnancies might have stuck if things hadn't been so stressful, so trying to do it better this time. I gather there's no conclusive scientific evidence either way on stress and esp with an ectopic it's often 'just bad luck' (how I hated hearing that!), but it can't hurt to take things slower for a little while.

WaitIng to see the GP later to ask about baby aspirin and a few other bits.

The journal and email ideas are lovely! I'm sitting here snivelling away. My own mother once proudly handed me a few scant scribbles from her pregnancy with me, in a diary... it was for the WRONG CHILD! They were from when she was pregnant with my sister 😂😂😂.

BackAwayFatty · 30/10/2018 09:53

I got my BFP last night. I've been having vivid dreams & so bloated. Clear blue puts me at 1-2 weeks so EDD 10th July. I've a DD9, DSS7 & DSS4 so gonna be a busy house!

Is it just me that wants to tell everyone?! I'm so impatient

ratherbeshowjumping · 30/10/2018 09:54

Love the idea of a journal. I'm not sure my days are exciting enough to fill either though... "woke up, felt sick, had a shower, swore because the water hurt my nipples, felt sick...." 🙈

ratherbeshowjumping · 30/10/2018 09:54

Welcome to all the newbies too 😬

TwittleBee · 30/10/2018 09:57

BackAwayFatty oh dont I have already told 2 of my best friends!!!! And I know we will spill the beans to our 2 best mates tomorrow night when they come over for dinner, they were the first 2 we old with DS!

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 10:16

I've told a lot of people already. Only people I spend a lot of time with as it is impossible to hide my constant loo breaks and guzzling water.

I've also told my immediate little group of friends as they all knew I was desperate for my rainbow.

I'll add you to the list @BackAwayFatty welcome Smile

@TwittleBee @Frazzlerock
I've told one friend, her DD is 6 weeks old & new she'd be super excited for our two to grow up together.

Trying to decide when we should tell parents? Part of me doesn't want to wait. Just call up to book my scan & I'm 4 weeks pregnant. I was calculating from conception rather than period!

pancakes22 · 30/10/2018 10:49

@Frazzlerock yes I'm totally with you there. My boobs feel the same just that weird bruised feeling round sides. My DD unfortunately likes to play with them at night which is just delightful anyway never mind when feeling sore! 🙈 I'm really impatient too for that reassurance. Hurry up midwife appointment!!

@StargazyDrifter you are doing completely the right thing taking it easy this time. Good on you for taking the day off. That comment about the wrong journal really made me laugh out loud!!

@BackAwayFatty I know what you mean I'm desperate to tell people but my DH won't let me!! I've even a bit sneaky and told a couple just so I could check out symptoms but he wants to get quiet until we get a bit further down the line. It's driving me crazy! So pleased I have you guys to chat about with it instead!! What's more worrying is I'm currently organising a hen do and they want me to start booking flights and I'm just thinking to myself how on earth (or more importantly when) do I tell them that I'm probably due that sane weekend!! Bride NOT going to be happy with me eek

TwittleBee · 30/10/2018 10:54

BackAwayFatty 12 weeks scan should be just before Christmas! So we are going to give scan pictures in the Christmas cards to our family.

Frazzlerock · 30/10/2018 11:05

It's so much easier for the men to keep quiet and they don't understand how hard it is for us. We have physical symptoms that can't be hidden from people without being completely cloak and dagger about it all - and, I don't know about anyone else, but I am the worst liar in the history of the world!

@TwittleBee almost exactly the same idea! Except I was going to get a stamp made with a baby footprint and 'baby due' to put in the cards (or something)

pancakes22 · 30/10/2018 11:06

Aw what a lovely idea! 🎄

Belmo · 30/10/2018 11:41

Hello and congratulations new people! And edinburghlass so pleased for you that’s fantastic news Smile

I’ve told my mum, who is thrilled. We’ll tell dh’s parents soon too I think - I love the idea of waiting til Christmas and scan pictures but just don’t think I could possibly keep it too myself that long! One of my close friends is going through ivf at the moment though and I’m dreading telling her a bit; I’m sure she will be happy for me but I know how unfair it is that she is struggling and it’s been so easy for us (this pregnancy was actually totally unplanned, although I am pleased and dh is getting there!)

Can’t decide if I should ring the midwifes yet? My period is actually not due til tomorrow, is it much too early?? I’d love to get the scan before Christmas though so would like to get in early!

Squ1ggle · 30/10/2018 11:47

@TwittleBee gah, stupid phone! I swear I read til the last post and all those updates weren't there. @edinburghlass1991 that's amazing!

StargazyDrifter · 30/10/2018 11:54

TwittleBee and Frazzlerock those are such lovely ideas for Christmas! 💜

I agree about the cloak and daggery being a pain. DH has been very good and left it up to me who/when to tell amongst friends, and said he'll support whatever. I don't have family to tell my side but with the in-laws we didn't tell them about the last 3 unsuccessful ones (none made it to 12 weeks) and currently think we might want to hold off until 20 weeks (around February). Partly to save the in-laws disappointment and worry when there are a few other worries in the family and partly to give ourselves some space during what is already a very anxious time as they can be a bit overbearing, albeit in a very well-meaning way. We might feel differently in the coming weeks, but that's where we are at the moment.

Friends-wise I've told three of my closest girlfriends and will probably reluctantly tell work tomorrow so they don't think I'm slacking.

Big family do this weekend.... time to concoct an not-drinking cover story!

edinburghlass1991 · 30/10/2018 12:12

Thanks we are so happy
We are going down south on the 27th dec to in-laws so we tell them then we would’ve had our 12 week scan by then as well.

Fabulous news! @edinburghlass1991 so so pleased for you!

I'm feel nauseous in waves! Sure I didn't feel nauseous this early last time.

Light Cramps and stretching has settled today too.

Just booked my midwife app for the 13th Nov!

We have told parents and I've told my 2 best friends.

Loving the Christmas announcement ideas!

edidxb · 30/10/2018 12:27

Hi Everyone! I would like to join up too. I found the board for TTC really useful and was part of the 35+ TTC number 1 group. So, I am 36 and had a MMC in March and have been TTC since and finally got my BFP on Saturday. My EDD is 6th July.

I have been to see the doctor this morning as I had low progesterone last time before the MMC but didn't start the tablet, suppositories etc until 6 weeks so I wanted to start ASAP if needed this time. They took my blood to test for progesterone and also for HCG and I have to go back on Thursday to check it is doubling every 48hr period. She is also giving me baby aspirin.

I had the MMC at 10 weeks before, but it was actually 8 weeks so I am feeling really happy at the moment but also cautious.

I have actually taken the day off work today as I just couldn't face going in and I never do that. I think I just needed a day to get my head around things! I have some nausea but only mild, I am super tired and have gone to bed at 9.30pm the last 2 nights and had a nap today. And I have sore boobs too.

I am looking forward to being part of the group, as I found the support really useful whilst TTC.
