Hello ladies....

Spotting back ☹️ I'm still at work I really don't know how I managed to drag myself out of bed this morning to come here... But I did and I've nearly made it through....

Back pain hasn't gone away yet but thankfully my boobs are still inflated and painful so the gyno will be happy I suppose Confused

Getting blood test today.

It's been a weepy day today and very difficult to concentrate on work....

Hello all newcomers and congrats to you all.

Laburna · 07/11/2018 14:35

I used to live in Essex....long time ago now, think I've moved at least 6 times since then - that's sort of 6 areas not including moving house in those areas 😂

My sickness was a bit less, now it's back and I'm shattered. Had to walk the dog this morning while DH fed DS as the smell of the toast set me off 🤢🤢

Have just had to go down to the GP to pick up cyclogest the consultant has decided I should be taking, should have been taking from getting the BFP. I've had a letter confirming that all our tests were normal and instructing the MW to book me an early scan so I'm hoping I'll have one before the end of the month! Have not broached the private route with DH, bit doubt he would object!

Sorry about the spotting @itsallgreek :( fingers are still crossed for those super bloaty boobs!

StargazyDrifter · 07/11/2018 14:36

Hugs and 💐 to you itsallgreek. Such a horrid time - but when you're going through hell, keep going. With my MMC I found it helpful to be at work, I never get a moment to myself there so it gave me a break from all the pregnancy stuff. But it also works to just be at home and do stuff you love, preferably under a duvet.

I have this caricature image of your doc in my head taking pleasure from reports of painful boobies. 👨🏻‍⚕️

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 14:46

oh itsallgreek I wish I could give you a hug Sad but keep positive, early bleeds really are common and more often turn out to be nothing bad. It is great you still have your symptoms too!

StargazyDrifter hahah that did make me chuckle

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 14:47

Laburna lovely you will be getting an early scan! Hope all is well

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 14:57

ah FFS I just knocked back an Ibuprofen for this back pain without thinking and now I am stressing I am gonna be causing harm to baba!

SnailorSwift · 07/11/2018 15:05

Don't beat yourself up @TwittleBee it's easily done and doesn't pose an issue as a one off.

Lots of people don't even know they are pregnant at this stage so please don't panic 💕

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 15:16

yeah that is true SnailorSwift I guess I just need to remember not take anymore! I'll stack up on paracetamol! Just know taking it in early pregnancy can cause MCs so worried but it was only 1 like you said. Sorry I am such a worrier!!

Laburna · 07/11/2018 15:20

You'll be fine @twittlebee it's fine occasionally just not as a regular use - obviously not to be taken with aspirin if you take that.

HchyScott · 07/11/2018 15:37

Still few symptoms for me no boob pain or sickness but I feel like my boobs are massive! Called DH into the bathroom this morning to have a look at them, he’s not really a boob man though haha!
One thing though is the emotions, I’m happy nearly all the time but the smallest thing has me in tears! Nearly cried seeing the baby stuff in Tesco today and have shed a few tears watching telly this afternoon. I’m geberally not a cryer!

babyl0ve · 07/11/2018 16:00

Hi everyone and congratulations!!

I'm so happy that I get to join you all for the next 9 months (positive thoughts, positive thoughts...)

This was our 12th cycle so I'm still in shock to be honest as I was starting to think that this wouldn't happen for us. This will be our first baby and I'm due on 17th July.

Very jealous of those of you who have your booking-in appointments and first scan dates already. I called my GP and the receptionist told me to call back in a few weeks if I'm still pregnant. What a bitch! I don't need that kind of negativity in my life right now.

Right... I'll update the list.

Lovely to meet you all Smile

SnailorSwift · 07/11/2018 16:05

Welcome @babyl0ve. Receptionist sounds nice 🙄

I've my booking appointment next Friday but really wish it was sooner as I need a referral to haematology ASAP.

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 16:07

woah 51 of us and we are only just past mid way EDD for July!

welcome babyl0ve and congrats!

hahaha HchyScott I made my DH look at my growing boobs too! Feel like I need to get new bras already lol!

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 16:08

SnailorSwift could you call your MW to start that process before booking app?

SnailorSwift · 07/11/2018 16:12

@TwittleBee that's not a bad idea. My GP surgery runs a midwife clinic every Friday so I explained to the receptionist and she put me in for earliest appointment they had. I think ringing the community midwifery team would be a good idea though, thanks hadn't even thought to do so.

I'm still toying with going privately atm, as always said I would after DS1 but we've just moved house and have no money 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

itsallgreek · 07/11/2018 16:15

Thanks girls... On another note I'm born and breed Essex girl... But I lived over here for 11 years now

Laburna · 07/11/2018 16:16

Mines next Friday too @snailorswift so far away :(

Worried that by the time I get there and she books my 'reassurance scan' I'll be almost at dating scan time 😟

StargazyDrifter · 07/11/2018 16:19

Welcome babyl0ve. Sorry to hear about the receptionist, that's extremely insensitive even by harassed GP receptionist standards! Don't take it to heart.

HchyScott I cry at most things too now and I barely ever do.

Bras - at what point do we give up the underworld variety? I have this vague memory that the underwire can affect milk production, but surely not yet? I'm just reluctant to do/buy anything until we (hopefully) see that heartbeat in a couple of weeks' time. I'm not even superstitious but too much has gone wrong before. Yes, yes, this is an entirely new pregnancy and a whole other little human being. Doesn't always stop the spiteful monkey in my head though. 🐒

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 16:20

Laburna same for you, could you phone and see if she could book for scan now?

SnailorSwift good luck, hope they can sort it now, less worrying then. And yes know what you mean about going private. DH has said anything starts happening we do not like then we shall just pay for private on finance. I've already had to go private for other health issues before so I know a good place to go if need be. I do have faith in the perinatal MH team to ensure I am looked after this time though.

Still so unsure about how to give birth though, despite having 2 threads currently running on the issue (one under childbirth and another on AIBU)

StargazyDrifter · 07/11/2018 16:20

*underwired. Sorry.

SnailorSwift · 07/11/2018 16:21

Seems ages away doesn't it @Laburna - hopefully they will get you booked in for a scan ASAP after that.

I'm also now considering just ringing haematology directly to get the ball rolling. Don't know that I can self refer but worth a shot as I've been known to them in the past.

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 16:22

StargazyDrifter I stayed in underwire until i started to BF last time actually and by god I had no issues with milk production (and clearly dont now either as I am already fricking lactating). Bless you though being worried until you see that heartbeat Flowers

StargazyDrifter · 07/11/2018 16:25

On going private, DH and I were talking about this too. It would be a very big commitment and we'd have to budget. Does anyone know if it's possible to only go private for the birth? My biggest worry is the afterward (likely to have a CS on medical grounds). My other worry is, if there's something wrong with the little one and they need emergency care, is that still on the same bill, as it were, or is the newborn a new NHS patient in their own right?

StargazyDrifter · 07/11/2018 16:27

Thank you TwittleBee. 😊🐝
