@Charm23 welcome! Please add yourself to the list Smile

Yes a few of us have booked private scans for reassurance. I for one have had a MMC so I don't trust my body to tell me when/if I lose my baby so I need that constant 'is baby still alive' confirmation.
My first one at 7 weeks is this Saturday and I will book another for 9 weeks (when we discovered our first lost one died). I think 9 weeks will be my 'slight relief' milestone. If I can get past that then I will feel a lot easier about things.

Twistering · 07/11/2018 11:29

Hi all,

Been lurking as scared to raise my head for fear on jinxing but losing my mind a bit so good to be amongst similar company! :)

Don’t add me to list just yet but tentatively due 8th July. We’ve been trying for our first for over 4 years, had three miscarriages in first three years but nada more recently and was actually due to start IUI this month but they were full! Only tested as a day late as really didn’t expect and BFP.

Only very slightly sore boobs so that has been freaking me out (other pregnancies way more) and suddenly yesterday had what feels like virus hit - hot/cold, everything hurts, headache, off food etc and while feeling a bit better today, the sore boobs have completely disappeared (literally nothing even when poking) so feeling v anxious.

Due to history I get scanned from 6 weeks, so first one next Wed. Just wish was something could do in meantime.

Sorry for ramble, know loads of you have been through similar/probably feeling the same.

Charm23 · 07/11/2018 11:32

@Frazzlerock Thanks. Sorry to hear about your loss Flowers I hope everything goes well on Saturday. I was tempted to book a private scan but now I'm thinking I may just wait it out until 12 weeks and tell family without a scan photo. I'll discuss it with DH as I may change my mind again x

Onestep2 · 07/11/2018 11:48

@twistering @frazzlerock I'm so sorry for what you have been through, and anyone on here that has been through a miscarriage. I can't imagine what you have been through and how scary this must be for you.

I probably (defo) will get an early scan... partly because I'm so impatient and partly for the reassurance as this is DD1 and I don't have a clue!

@jxtina86 I love Primark for a bargain. I've never managed to go in though and spend anything less that 50quid. I practically live in leggings and floaty shift/skater style dresses so I'm hoping that they hide the bloat and eventual bump

Delilah7 · 07/11/2018 11:51

@Onestep2 I'm getting an early scan too. I hope it'll make me relax abit. Having a few nightly cramps today. They come and go though..

Belmo · 07/11/2018 12:00

I am super tempted to book a scan now, can find them for less than £90 nearby which dh thinks is ridiculous so close to Christmas, but 12 weeks seems unbearably far away!
Have had a grim weekend with an ill 2 year old and no sleep, last night he was up and down all night and my eldest was up with nightmares, I was freaking out a bit at the prospect of adding a baby to that mix! Soooo tired now!

amanda2809 · 07/11/2018 12:05

Welcome @Twistering :) I was hit with similar over the weekend, but have managed to shake it off now, just a lingering run down feeling! The one thing I would say to try and reassure you is this time it feels totally different to when I was pregnant with my son. I had little nausea back then but I've definitely got it this time, feel like I'm on a boat constantly!!

Onestep2 · 07/11/2018 12:06

@belmo £90? I don't know if it's down to area but when I was looking online I found a few places for early scans that were £39. Maybe have a look around and see if you can save yourself some money. As for DH tell him every penny is worth it!!

@delilah7 quite right hun! If it puts your mind at ease then it's worth it!

SnailorSwift · 07/11/2018 12:17

If booking an early scan is helpful for you I say do it!

I'm thinking I'll probably be sent for an early scan as last pregnancy was complex; but if not will prob not bother to book one as DH isn't home from work till December so I'm happy to wait till 12 week scan with him.

I feel awful - tired and nauseous. Anyone else not getting any sleep 💤

Delilah7 · 07/11/2018 12:22

@Onestep2 I looked at the ones that said £39 but turned out it was £89. However my lovely mummy is paying for it bless her haha x x

Frazzlerock · 07/11/2018 12:23

Guys Groupon is your friend!

My scan on Saturday is costing me £33

Twistering · 07/11/2018 12:23

Thanks @onestep2 and @amanda2809 that’s helpful, trying to tell myself it’s different as means it will stick (and don’t particularly fancy feeling like on a boat...:) )

@Frazzlerock will have everything crossed for you for Sat

Onestep2 · 07/11/2018 12:35

@frazzlerock clicks straight onto groupon app hahaha

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 12:41

woah this thread is getting soooooo busy!!!

I also have the back pain, noticed there was chat further up about it! Lower back pain. Worried I am gonna have back and hip issues again with this pregnancy. Really do not want my Sciatica to come back

I back Frazzlerock with Groupon! I also bagged one for £33 after her suggestion of checking it out!

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 12:42

SnailorSwift yeah there are a few of us suffering with insomnia etc! I woke up at 4am as I needed to pee (forgot about night wakes for toilet trips in pregnancy!) and then I couldn't get back off even though I didnt manage to fall asleep till 11pm

TwinkleDay · 07/11/2018 13:15

@frazzlerock and @twittlebee where abouts are the scans? My groupon isn’t bringing them up.

Frazzlerock · 07/11/2018 13:17

@TwinkleDay mine is in Dartford (30 mins drive from me)

Belmo · 07/11/2018 13:22

Aha! Had already tried groupon and no luck, but just tried googling nearest big city and can get a scan there for £44! Looks like it is ran out of someone’s living room, but I don’t care! Times are awkward but if I can get someone to look after the kids it should be doable..:

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 13:28

I had one for Stanstead and another for Dartford TwinkleDay

Frazzlerock looks like we must live kinda nearby!

Belmo well surely a scan is a scan? Maybe they try to make it feel homely?

Frazzlerock · 07/11/2018 13:35

@TwittleBee I'm in Sevenoaks

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 13:37

I used to live South Essex and had an office there Frazzlerock with my previous employer! But now I'm on the Essex/Suffolk border and working this way too.

SnailorSwift · 07/11/2018 13:42

Honestly @TwittleBee I never remember feeling this rubbish in early pregnancy before! The peeing is constant 😂

I'm also struggling with appetite and nausea although thankfully no proper sickness at this point!

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 13:44

Neither do I SnailorSwift ! well not about the insomnia anyway! I did have terrible sickness which is already here for me. Hope the sickness keeps at bay for you!

StargazyDrifter · 07/11/2018 14:19

The nausea is relentless in my case and I'm still only 5+3. Not eating = 🤢. Eating = 🤢. Food smell = 🤢. And now, •drumroll• any kind of high or low emotion also = 🤢. No throwing up yet apart from when I brush my teeth. Lovely.

I also just saw a big rainbow outside and cried. 🙄

SnailorSwift · 07/11/2018 14:23

@StargazyDrifter I am exact same 😷

Also crying ALOT 🤦🏼‍♀️😂
