Thanks ladies, I just found another old thread about the accuracy of those tests and seems a lot of people have had the same as me and gone on to have healthy pregnancies so fingers crossed.
I guess I just really thought I’d have more symptoms and it’s playing on my mind. I should be glad after reading how awful some of you are suffering!

TwinkleDay · 04/11/2018 08:39

@Ljamer welcome, sounds like we have the same due date. Currently at 6 + 1? When do you have your next appoinment ? Mines 30th Nov with MW and will be first too ! I haven’t been too bad sickness and ache wise but hate to speak to soon.. out with both sets of parents today and are going to hold off telling until Xmas.

pancakes22 · 04/11/2018 08:41

@TwinkleDay I'm 6+2 and have my midwife appt on 23rd x

Frazzlerock · 04/11/2018 08:52

@HchyScott I'd take the others advice for sure. Though I can understand the desire for testing. I'm like you in having barely any symptoms so it's worrying. But again normal at this stage not to have symptoms yet (some people have none at all!, ever!)

Mind you, saying I have no symptoms. My thirst is still stupidly raging. Last night I woke so many times with such s dry mouth. I'd have a big drink of water and 5 mins later my mouth is like the Sahara desert again. Then obviously I had to keep going for a wee. So I slept dreadfully last night.
DP is taking the DC to a race track today for some famous banger racing event. I was supposed to go (not that I like that sort of thing) but that was before we discovered I was pregnant and now I can't imagine anything worse than standing around in the cold all day watching cars smash into each other. So I'm having a day of rest!

I am tempted to tell the DC so that they understand why I need to rest so much right now. In fact, DC1 asked me at lunch yesterday why I wasn't having a glass of wine (I reckon he knows). I told him I didn't like red and he seemed satisfied with that answer!

Welcome to the new recruits. Good luck for a healthy pregnancy.
As I say to all the other newbies, feel free to find the last updated list and add yourselves.
I seem to have become List Hitler 😂 (in case my smiley didn't work)

PS. Popsy has grown to the size of a blueberry. I feel like he/she is finally of an understandable size (rather than a poppy seed or a peppercorn). If that makes sense.

TwinkleDay · 04/11/2018 09:02

@pancakes22 that’s exciting! Let us know how that goes.

Anyone got any ideas what they want for Xmas? So far I have gone with love to shop vouchers as you can spend them at Dorothy Perkins - maternity range, Mothercare and the early learning centre. As well as a host of others so no one is to be suspicious. Tricky...

Belle2008 · 04/11/2018 09:21

Hi @twinkle you were in the tww group if I remember correctly? How u doing x

Ljamer · 04/11/2018 09:39

@twinkleday congratulations! My mw appointment is 28th November, make sure you get your flu vaccination Smile

It’s odd I thought there would be more contact with my gp or something before? But I guess they don’t do that anymore! I’ve found all my info from google which can sometimes be more of a hindrance ...

That’s good you haven’t had too many symptoms as yet! I was fine until Thursday and the nausea just struck Hmm

TwinkleDay · 04/11/2018 10:30

Hello @belle2008 yes I was a short stop and now at home over here. I am actually quite well I have had a horrid cold and the same time we had a weekend away and have been having some nausea but only the odd day here and there luckily so far. How are you?? Will need to recap briefly so much going on in my head since then.

@Ljamer I know the internet is a blessing in disguise, you guys really help knowing we aren’t on our own, goodness knows how parents would of coped with not knowing but I guess they would of had books. So far it’s between me and my other half and the doctors!

crakpot1 · 04/11/2018 11:45

Don't you just hate hormonal headaches 😩

TwittleBee · 04/11/2018 11:52

Yes crakpot1 and the caffeine withdrawal ones too!

Btw on convo of decaf drinks, Douwe Egberts decaf isn't bad for decaf instant coffee.

I have a family bonfire party tonight, my 39 weeks pregnant sister will be there. Gonna be so hard not to say anything! Especially as we are all staying over for the night so everyone will spot I'm not drinking.

StargazyDrifter · 04/11/2018 12:11

HchyScott Sorry to hear you're worried, definitely worth menyonjinb to the GP. As Laburna says, those tests aren't always great. I mentioned them to the consultant when I was in hospital the other day and he didn't think much of them and said to use with caution, wryly recognising that getting me to step away from them altogether would be unrealistic! 😂

If you look at p.4 here, these are the hCg levels those tests look for in order to assign one of the three 'how many weeks' bands. They have to pick something I suppose.

uk.clearblue.com/sites/default/files/cb9_brochure_hcp.pdf

HOWEVER various other sources are emphatic that hCg is a range. I soured them all when I had my own hCg tested in hospital and these ranges here (scroll to about 3/4 down) are the ones I've seen most often.

www.babymed.com/normal-hcg-blood-level-by-week-during-pregnancy

You'll see that at 5w pregnant (from LMP, not CB count) you can be as low as 19 on hCg and that'd put you at 1-2 weeks on CB (or 2-3 on LMP count). The rangers are also huge. In short - it not going up isn't anything to worry about. 😊

I'm with pancakes on the baby brain, the stuff about with the hCg rages has really taken some concentration! And I'm still getting crazy vivid dreams. Last night's delight was realising I'd never actually taken my Maths GCSE and having to scramble to learn/do it. Woke up in a cold sweat.

I'm also feeling like my tummy is grinding to a halt Laburna. Have been blaming it on a lack of fruit and veg in the last couple of days and been trying to load up on those. Also sent DH out to get Kefir or Actimel in case that helps. 🙄

Frazzle Enjoy your day of rest! I'm having similar today, really regretted going out to a cold and crowded bonfire do. Your DC1 sounds like a really smart little cookie!

In terms of other symptoms - still permanent nausea, sore boobs, awful skin. Worries - will I get beyond the mark when my MMC happened (next week). Have cleared when I'd had the early MC and ectopic already, one more to go!

And welcome to all the newbies! 👋

edidxb · 04/11/2018 12:16

Someone was mentioning their skin........my skin is a mess. I have always had poor skin and was on the pill for years mainly to control it. I was also on Roaccutane for some years when I was younger. It has mainly been under control recently but I currently have 3 very large lumps as well as sore red patches......
When I was pregnant before (MMC) I developed acne all over my back, chest and neck too and I would rather not go down that road again.
However, I keep saying to myself - I would rather have full blown acne and have a baby than good skin and no baby. So I'll take staying pregnant and my skin can get worse!
Fingers crossed.......

edidxb · 04/11/2018 12:19

Hey @stargazydrifter I know what you mean about waiting for certain stages - I need to get to 8w4d so still some time to go........and then to 10 weeks. Step by step.
Good luck - I am feeling positive for you :-)

TwittleBee · 04/11/2018 12:30

Yeah I agree it's worth having shit skin for a baby edidxb ! I read though that pregnancy acne is worse in 1st trimester and tends to clear up. So FX for us with acne!

Done some more shopping for baba today 🙈 I can't control myself! Loads of beautoful colourful stuff in M&Co

July 2019 very early days
StargazyDrifter · 04/11/2018 12:30

edidxb Thank you and ikewise, feeling positive for you. We're on a lucky thread, too! I also have lumps, spots and patches. Nothing seems to work. Fx that every pregnancy is different and you don't get the full blown skin trouble.

I'm in the bedroom sobbing and also kind of laughing at myself though the sobs because the smell of meat being seared all the way in the kitchen has made me sick. It's going to be a long day! 🤢😢😂

TwittleBee · 04/11/2018 12:31

(Also then had to buy DS a new jumper as felt guilty lol)

TwittleBee · 04/11/2018 12:32

Oh bless you StargazyDrifter !! Haha, have to laugh to keep sane 🙊

Essexgirlupnorth · 04/11/2018 12:34

I had my flu jab last week at work (I work in a hospital). I didn't tell work till I was 12 weeks last time (well my manager slightly earlier as I told her I had my scan appointment). One of my colleagues saw me in the antenatal clinic though.
Might have to tell them earlier this time as there is some lab work I can't do because of the chemicals used so will have to tell them why I can't. Not drinking at the work Xmas do is probably going to be a massive give away too.
Have a good friend at work but don't trust her to keep her mouth shut and not tell the entire department.
Will probably tell our family before our scan.

Brainfried1986 · 04/11/2018 16:45

Booked my early scan for November 29th when I’ll be 8+5 - really excited but a little bit nervous too... Conveniently the scanning place is literally ten minutes walk from our house (otherwise I might not have decided to do it tbh). I figured if it’s my last pregnancy then I’d like to have the extra scan, and I’ll be less nervous at the 12 week if I’ve already seen a heartbeat. I think ds will have to come with us, so hoping they will let him come in otherwise DH will have to stay outside with him. Anyone else previously had scans and had to take dcs with them?

edinburghlass1991 · 04/11/2018 17:01

Really nice to see this group busy now. I think iam haveing a girl this time iam addicted to Pepsi max so missing that lots. Not as bad when I had to stop smoking when pregnant when dd ( she was a implant baby) which was hell but I’ve stayed stopped at leastGrin

TwinkleDay · 04/11/2018 17:10

Has anyone has any bleeding yet, I’m 6+ 1 and I had some brown 10 days ago for a couple of hours, pink last Sunday for a couple of hours and as of this afternoon I have had red, currently having a melt down! OH assuring me it will be ok, noticed when I went to the loo no cramping but vivid red. Help :(

Capybaras · 04/11/2018 17:15

Oh that’s exciting having an early scan @brainfried ! Are many people doing this? I’d like to but my OH isn’t so keen!

Haven’t had any cramps today (apart from a slight pain whilst DTD) and feeling pretty good, although am getting a lot more tired than usual!

I’m also confused about my EDD as going from start or last period it’s 11th July but if I put in the last few lengths of my irregular cycles it moves to 17th July!

Capybaras · 04/11/2018 17:16

Hey @twinkleday I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this worry. Don’t have any experience in this but fingers crossed everything is ok for you. I know from obsessive MN reading that some women do experience bleeding throughout pregnancy and have a happy and healthy pregnancy so fingers crossed that’ll be the same for you.

pancakes22 · 04/11/2018 17:40

@TwinkleDay I can imagine that must be worrying for you. Completely agree with other posts that lots of people have spotting early pregnancy but regardless for fresh red blood I would still have that checked out if not purely just for your peace of mind. Maybe give 111 a call and see if they can get you an out of hours appointment. Keep us updated x

TwinkleDay · 04/11/2018 17:48

I have been downing water for the last hour and it’s gone brown now.. hopefully that means it’s coming to an end, i don’t see how 111 will help if it’s not meant to be it’s not meant to be. They were terrible when I had an accident this year and I went into anfilaptic shock (however your spell it).
