Big welcome to all the newbies and keeping everything crossed for you Toria. 😊

I'm totally with you all on wanting to POAS and, in my case, also obsessively feeling my boobs to check for soreness and eating sharp-tasting things to check my mouth sores are still there (apparently a lesser known symptom of pregnancy!?).

Big hugs to all the fragile feeling lovely mummies to be. The decaf story certainly stuck a chord!

Just back from lunch with the in-laws. We got away with the alcohol, but DH is now a bit wobblier than intended from discretely gulping my wine as well as drinking his own. 😂 There was a lot of talk about food over lunch, most of it made me all 🤢 again. I'm so exhausted. Lovely as it is, can't wait to go home soon! Don't think MIL suspects after all, she's still trying to ply me with alcohol!

StargazyDrifter · 03/11/2018 16:25

edidxb Definitely stay off if you can, in the grand scheme of things, you being well and rested at this early stage will matter more than almost anything that happens on a given day at work. Especially if you've been signed off too.

I've not found any decaf teas I like so limit myself to one proper one a day and then herbal stuff and tisanes/herbal teas the rest of the time. This is my current favourite:

Anyone else had a break out of acne? My skins come up so bad today, haven't had it like this for years (Didn't even suffer with DS!?)

Also booked in for an early scan on the 29th!!! Thought it might settle my nerves

toots123 · 03/11/2018 17:22

Evening!
Fx for a sticky one Toria!

I managed to spend some time with my parents and didn't slip up!
Cramps are in overdrive today, hoping bean is getting comfy in there. This is such a rollercoaster isn't it?!

Jxtina86 · 03/11/2018 17:36

@TwittleBee yes to the acne - my forehead is covered already! It was actually the first symptom I got aside from the cramps.

HchyScott · 03/11/2018 17:41

Evening all, having abit of a wobble today, I’ve come convinced myself that I can’t possibly be pregnant despite doing three positive tests as I’m having less symptoms than I get when I’m due on. I’m really happy and I’m miserable usually when hormonal. I’m sure it’s not going to stick. I don’t know why. Last Monday, clear blue said 2-3 weeks so I’m going to do another tomorrow to try to settle myself.
Missing my weekend wine so treated myself to a bottle of alcohol free fizz, hope those of you who are feeling really rough get some respite from it over the weekend x

StargazyDrifter · 03/11/2018 18:00

Ow HchyScott you poor thing. That kind of thing is really tough and I suffer from it too. No amount of facts seems to help! I hope the substitute fizz helps a little, though. 🥂

This has totally blown my mind today. Broadly speaking, girls are born with all the eggs they'll ever have. And the things that eventually become eggs are made at c.16-20 weeks of pregnancy. Does that mean those of us carrying girls will also, kind of, be carrying the beginnings of our grandchildren? head explodes 🤔

Laburna · 03/11/2018 18:13

That's insane @stargazydrifter and maybe a little creepy too!

MummyG82 · 03/11/2018 18:21

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking I'm not pg today. But o have been feeling so so dizzy today! Which I didn't have with DS! Sickness has faded at the moment which is why I'm having negative thoughts I think! Been going to the loo loads just to check I'm not bleeding!! Been getting slight cramping but I think it's just my body adjusting. God I hate this waiting malarkey!!

Welcome to the new bes 👋😊

TwinkleDay · 03/11/2018 18:32

@Twittlebee yes my skin had been so bad oily and blotchy Round the mouth. I have bought toner and lotion from the ‘la roche’ range in boots which I read in an article is good for pregnancy skin. Been on it a week and has been helping.

Just been at the baby shower all this talk about babies and kids there and I’m just like sat at the side being quiet lol.

TwittleBee · 03/11/2018 18:49

Such a rollercoaster already yeah toots123 !

Jxtina86 and TwinkleDay glad I'm not the only one! I had beautiful skin with DS so this is new to me! I'll check out that lotion, thanks Twinkle.

StargazyDrifter yeah I always think it's crazy to think we were all in our grandmothers!!!

I am sorry to read you're also having a wobble today HchyScott

Toria73 · 03/11/2018 19:37

@Stargazydrifter, TwittleBee & edidxb,
It was Tesco decaf in a tin that made me cry 😂
I dont mind Sainsbury’s own decaf tea & ive been told that Lidl’s own is also good. Im trying Nescafé Azera decaf, it seems ok so far.
Ps thank you all for the kind words. I hope this works out for all of us.

Squ1ggle · 03/11/2018 21:12

Told my parents today and they were thrilled! Lovely to see them so happy. In laws tomorrow

itsallgreek · 03/11/2018 21:38

I've been a bit emotional this evening... DP family now know and no one seemed that pleased for us... It's so early and unknown territory fir me I seem to spend a lot of time worrying about things... We've got to move before baby comes because we don't really live together and I feel like DP needs wrangling into it, but he's done thus before so us much more chill than me... I just want Tuesday to come so I can see little beans in the right place...

StargazyDrifter · 03/11/2018 21:49

Squ1ggle that's exciting! No more dodging G&T! Btw Seedlip is a pretty good substitute.

itsallgreek sorry to hear. I'm sure they're all pleased, maybe just a little cautious? Families, eh! DH and I had another big talk about telling family etc today, first time for us both, and it wasn't completely straightforward. Just remember the top priorities are you and the little bean and it will all be all right in the end (and if it's not all right, it's not the end). 😊

silverrose56 · 03/11/2018 23:03

We told our immediate families today. We'd been unsure whether to say anything but decided that if something does go wrong then we will need help with DS so it was slightly necessary.

Interestingly my MIL informed us that my SIL is due in June and I already knew that my DSis is due in June so looks like it will be a busy time for both of our families!

HchyScott · 04/11/2018 08:02

Morning ladies, so I did another clear blue test and it says 2-3 weeks just like last Monday. I’m guessing this isn’t a good sign and my pregnancy isn’t progressing? I’ve got the doctors tomorrow morning so I can speak to her then but I just had a niggling feeling somethings isnt right. That test should be saying 3+

Ljamer · 04/11/2018 08:16

Hi all, can I join? Smile I’m a complete newbie to this all. I got my BFP a couple of weeks ago so I think if my calculations are correct I’m due June 27th. This is a first pregnancy for me- I feel super nervous about everything.

The nausea kicked in a few days ago- it lasts all day Hmm , I wake up every morning at 4am wanting to be sick and then manage to fall back asleep. Boobs are sore and I’m tired at night too. I’ve told my family but not DHs as yet- we are going to save it for a Christmas surprise Grin

Laburna · 04/11/2018 08:26

@HchyScott definitely worth talking to the GP if you are going, but the tests are pretty arbitrary. There's an HCG band for average amounts for each week, but everyone is different, you may have been at the lower end last week and the upper end this week, that doesn't mean anything is wrong, just that you don't fit with the averages they've picked. I hate those tests, they're the cause of so much unnecessary stress and yet purported to be the test to use!

Welcome @Ljamer hope you get through the sickness bit, I had the 4am feeling rubbish with my first and resorted to keeping biscuits and crackers by the bed to eat when I woke up, it really helped! My main sickness last time was just the sickness you get when you are insanely hungry! I recommend belvita and Go Ahead ones 😋

I'm driving myself nuts with neurotics again. Keep seeing everything as a sign it's all over. Debating booking a private reassurance scan, but I know that despite my LMP putting me at 5+6 I'm not that far, so by the time I get to a point where they'll scan me I'll have been booked in by the midwife and she will be arranging one anyway. I hate all this limbo time 😔

Off to get some orange juice today to see if I can help my digestive system get back to work, anyone got any other things to try? Even my morning coffee isn't helping at the moment! Though I've not eaten a massive amount so that's probably not helping!

Essexgirlupnorth · 04/11/2018 08:30

Got a BFP this morning due July 8th

In shock have been trying for over two years and was convinced my period was starting yesterday. Usually have some spotting by now in my cycle so tested this morning.

This will be baby number 2 already have DD5 who is going to be so happy as is desperate for a baby brother or sister.

No symptoms really apart for tender boobs.

pancakes22 · 04/11/2018 08:31

Oh. My. Goodness. Woke up this morning and my breasts are raging painful! They have been sore generally like when I walk or ran they would feel bruised but this morning is a new level! Reminds me of a completely full boob and I desperately need to feed but no one to feed to yet!!!

Lauren83 · 04/11/2018 08:31

@HchyScott honestly those tests mess with your head, mine last week was 2-3, 2-3, 1-2 (at which point I accepted it was going to end in a loss) then 3+ the day after. I had bloods done 2 days after the 1-2 result and they came back at 7,600

pancakes22 · 04/11/2018 08:33

@Ljamer try not to worry - if you imagine that you were doing a 'non snazzy' test then it would have shown you were pregnant before and it would not still be showing that you are pregnant now 🤞

pancakes22 · 04/11/2018 08:35

Sorry that was meant for you @HchyScott - tagged wrong person!

Swear I'm getting baby brain already. Lost my car keys the other day and was panicking like anything only to realise that i had left them outside in my unlocked car?!

pancakes22 · 04/11/2018 08:35

@Essexgirlupnorth congratulations!!
