ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts DC1 EDD??

wow, look at the size of that list!

StargazyDrifter · 31/10/2018 10:33

*everything, not evening!

I'm completely exhausted just from getting into work and doing a bit of this and that on email. I don't remember it being like that even with the pregnancy that got the furthest at 6 weeks. It's only 4w3d today which makes me dread what might be to come!

pancakes, with the friends etc, do try and think of yourself first for now - will it be hard to have them all involved in the very remote case that something might go wrong? Or would it be a comfort? If you're unsure, easier to hold off saying something. But easier said than done!

Here are some gentle hugs for everyone. 🤗 💫

TheScaredyKat · 31/10/2018 10:33

Tentatively joining here, got positive test last night. First time and I don't quite believe it! Got married only a few weeks ago and started trying straight away, seems ridiculous to happen this fast. We really thought we would struggle.

Lauren83 · 31/10/2018 10:34

@Frazzlerock thanks so much! Sorry to hear about your losses, I have had 2 MMC myself so I know all the extra worries that come with a BFP after a loss

ratherbeshowjumping · 31/10/2018 10:34

Incredible story @Lauren83 - and welcome to you too @ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts 😬

@Frazzlerock hoping that will be ok, without making me look too "frumpy." 🙈

@TwittleBee love your motto!

Jxtina86 · 31/10/2018 10:36

Hi can I join please? I only got my BFP yesterday (& then took another this morning with FMU to confirm!) It's my first so a complete ball of emotions right now! Due date 2nd July according to Flo app. Phoned doctors this morning as I'm currently taking medication for an eye issue and not sure what to do as it's steriods (just my luck really!) No real symptoms apart from no AF and mild cramping on and off plus lower back pain.

Frazzlerock · 31/10/2018 10:51

Welcome to the newcomers!

I will let you add yourselves to the list Smile

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 31/10/2018 12:17

Welcome newcomers! We're such a large group now it's fab!

For everyone worrying offering a wee hand hold. I had two early losses before DD and looking at DD now I couldn't imagine her ever not being in our lives and I couldn't ever imagine being mummy to someone else. If we hadn't had those losses she wouldn't be here as she would have just been another egg lost to the monthly cycle. So in a rambling way basically I think everything happens for a reason. One interesting statistic I saw was one that said the majority of first trimester losses are due to a fault with the baby and second trimester losses are due to a fault with the mother. This helped me a lot to realise that there is not much I could have done differently to prevent those losses, it's just fate. A really interesting program to watch is "Countdown to Life" its an old bbc 8 part documentary that was on in 2015 but you can still find it on line. It basically goes through week by week of pregnancy and what is happening to the baby and all the different things that are required to produce certain outcomes (positive or negative).

I got my scan date through - 17th december, really pleased it will be before xmas as wanting to tell all the family then.

Laburna · 31/10/2018 12:18

Wow! So many new people and we're only really a third of the way through the months due dates!

I looked at the stats and now regret it. Just putting in my age made the percentage risk go up 😭 I had to click 'reassure me' about 10 times before I left to make myself feel better!

I'm still panicking that there will be a problem, or I'll get to my scan and there will be nothing there! I wonder how common hysterical pregnancies are 🤔 😂 We're all going to drive each other nuts with our neurosis!

Hello new people, welcome to the crazy house! 🤣

Brainfried1986 · 31/10/2018 12:27

So weird to think that babies due later inJuly 2019 haven’t been made yet! Lots of future people that are still little eggs waiting to start a journey :) (not sure why i’m So philosophical this lunchtime...just a break from the hysterical I guess!)

Laburna · 31/10/2018 12:49

That's a really weird thought @brainfried1986

TwittleBee · 31/10/2018 12:49

Brainfried1986 literally what I was thinking earlier when I was looking at the list of dates!

A few things hoping you ladies could help with!

  1. I assume we need to get the Flu Jab? Do I need to wait to have my booking in appointment or can I just walk to any pharmacy and say I am pregnant, free flu jab please?

  2. So when do MWs contact us again? I have emailed off the self-referral form etc (thing have changed since DS!)

TwittleBee · 31/10/2018 12:50

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken ah so exciting you got your scan booked in! I just want the bloomin MWs to contact me already haha. Tempted to pay out for an early scan but not sure DH will agree to the £80 for it

Frazzlerock · 31/10/2018 12:54

@allthegoodnamesalreadytaken wonderful words! I totally get them now. But if you'd told me that in the 2.5 years that DP refused to try again (ever) I'd have bitten your head off Wink. I honestly could not find a single logical reason why I would have been given the chance to have two babies, only for them to be cruelly taken from me and then that was it. Tough shit. Nothing more. Forever. No rainbow, nothing.
Then DP miraculously changed his mind and suddenly I could see the sense in it. Now I am pregnant I keep thinking, as you say, if it weren't for our two losses I wouldn't be pregnant now and who knows what this baby could bring to our lives.

I'd love to watch that documentary but it;s not available on iPlayer sadly. Where have you seen it available?

@Laburna yup! I'm with you on those charts. Best we stay away I think.

@Brainfried1986 wow, yes that is incredible to think isn't it. Looks like we'll have rather a lot more joiners over the coming weeks. I'm not very good in big groups, I get a bit overwhelmed by who is who and what is happening and who has said what Confused

Frazzlerock · 31/10/2018 12:56

@TwittleBee have you looked on Groupon? I can get one for £39 about half an hour's drive from me.

Worth a look!

TwittleBee · 31/10/2018 12:57

Oooo I always forget to check there! Thank you Frazzlerock

allthegoodnamesalreadytaken · 31/10/2018 13:11

@Frazzlerock I think I would have thought the same at the time too hindsight is wonderful. Here is a link to episode 1 which looks at the first 8 weeks

itsallgreek · 31/10/2018 13:11

Hello there.

So excited to have found this forum EDD 7 july with my 1st, we weren't actively trying but weren't not trying either if you catch my drift. Wink i got my postive on saturday but i was sure i was pregnant 1 day after ovulation (i just had a feeling) DP said i was a lunatic.

symptoms so far lots of lower back pain, mild cramping, tiredness and bloating (am sitting unbuttoned at work as i type) no nausea or dizzyness yet.

I'm english but i live in Greece so its interesting to see how the systems differ from here to there, for example i have a gyno appointment on tuesday (i'll be 5 weeks 2 days then) to see if alls well with little bean and that their in the sack and positioned well!!!

this is all very exciting and i feel very blessed, i can't wait to share this journey with all of you.

TheScaredyKat · 31/10/2018 13:16

Hi Twinkleday, I'm new to all this aswell and also 5 weeks. I rang docs this morning to ask for an appointment but they said I didn't need one so they would just put me on the list and I'll get a call from the midwife at some point

Laburna · 31/10/2018 13:18

My MW appointment was done through my doctor's. She deals with all the villages around us (30 minutes to the nearest city), it was done like a GP appointment. I'm really hoping my 12 week scan is before Christmas. I'm going to be 13 weeks the week of Christmas so I think it's too late for the dating scan after that. At least that's what they said for DS.

If I don't get one before then, I'm definitely going private. Will go mad if I have to wait longer than that!

TheScaredyKat · 31/10/2018 13:18

Sorry @TwinkleDay ^

TwittleBee · 31/10/2018 13:26

haha that is my thinking too Laburna I will be 12 weeks on 28th Dec if my dates are right! No way am I waiting till new year for my dates. I would like to be able to either announce pregnancy at Christmas or on my Birthday meal (NYD)

ffiffi8 · 31/10/2018 13:37

Thank you 😊

This is my first baby and we're very excited!

I've contacted the midwife and have my first appointment on the 8th, I also have contacted my specialist nurse as I have hormonal epilepsy which is controlled however they'll need to take bloods to make sure medication levels are stable.

I'm getting tired more in the afternoon, less patience than usual, my poor DP 😓
