Hi Ladies, this thread moves fast!

So happy to hear about everyone’s scans! I had mine today and they saw the heartbeat which sent me into floods of tears! Measuring exactly to dates so 6 weeks exactly. Finding it hard to believe as I don’t feel pregnant! They’ve also booked me in for 2 weekly scans until 12 weeks then monthly scans onwards.

Another hand up at riding bedtime out alone, which was particularly trying this evening as everything in DD’s life right now just is not fair! . DP went to the pub to watch the football so suspecting a late arrival.

poppyseed2 · 24/10/2018 20:03

Congrats on those with successful scans today, makes it all much more real!

And thanks to everyone for the support. I didn't get a call so will have to wait until the morning to see the EPU. Distracting myself with a trashy movie and chocolate in the meantime

Skee · 24/10/2018 20:31

Hope you manage to take your mind off things a bit this evening @poppyseed x x

Congratulations on all the happy scans today! x x

Hugs @Greendill! Hopefully a painless bedtime routine tonight! x

poppyseed · 24/10/2018 20:39

Hello
I haven't used this site for years - probably going on for 15 years when I was first pregnant with my lovely daughter. Lots of years later, she's 19 now and we have a gorgeous son of 15 too. I remember very well the stage that you are all at. Imagine my surprise when I received an email to say I had been mentioned in a thread! Not quite me as it's poppyseed2 rather than me but thought I'd stop and say hello and best wishes to you all with your scans and babies due in June.
This ladies is very much just the beginning - enjoy Smile

coastergirl · 24/10/2018 20:40

@poppyseed2 hope all goes well tomorrow.

I do bedtime solo most nights. My OH isn't my little boy's dad, and although he is happy to do bedtime I just feel like I should (and want to tbh). Not easy though when I'm exhausted. Today has been tough. He's been poorly since Saturday night. Poor little man is fed up.

Seeing my gp tomorrow to discuss meds and a possible early scan. Congratulations to everyone who had lovely scans today.

I've told a few people. I didn't hide the miscarriage I had in August and wouldn't hide it again. It's not public knowledge though.

Kescilly · 24/10/2018 20:42

Sorry you weren’t seen yet, @poppyseed2. Trashy movie and chocolate sound perfect right now.

Congrats on the scan, @GreenDill. Hope that you have continued good news.

Skee · 24/10/2018 20:49

Bloody hell, I’m forever gett names wrong, I’m so sorry to bother you @poppyseed, but what a lovely message! x

Hugs @poppyseed2, sorry for misspelling 🤦🏻‍♀️

Fml. I think I need to head to bed 😳🙈

poppyseed · 24/10/2018 20:58

Good luck ladies!
You took me back to the days where I nearly lost my daughter and was having scans left right and centre.
I sadly miscarried my second.

Then went on four years later to have my son.

@JBCG - yep, a crying mess over here too. Tonight's reason to cry is because dh was so kind to me and went to the big supermarket to get me thrush cream when he was supposed to be going to the gym. When I was trying to say thank you he just said he would do anything for me and I started bawling. Then I caught 5 minutes of the supervet and saw a dog in pain and started again. Deary me.

@poppyseed2 - I'm so sorry you are having such a frightening time. Everything crossed for you that you are just one of those women who bleed, but nothing is wrong with baby. Flowers

@kescilly - absolutely thrilled to hear you had a good scan. As you can see from the first bit of my post, I have joined you in thrush land. Isn't it so glamourous being pregnant?! Glad they could still do your scan though and even better you have skipped ahead a few days!! Wonderful!

SM2016 · 24/10/2018 21:17

@JBCG I stopped taking mine on 2nd September but not sure if they will calculate my due date from then or from when I had my withdrawal bleed so confusing! I had bad cramping in my back and groin about 4weeks ago but it went after a few days. No spotting with this pregnancy so far but I had it with my last it can be normal hope everything goes ok for you! Still very nauseous and off work! Considering going to my gp for anti sickness meds. Anyone else having bad morning sickness that lasts all day?

Kescilly · 24/10/2018 21:17

Lovely to have you here, @poppyseed! Feel free to hang around and dispense wisdom. :)

Ugh @Stormwhale I’m sorry it’s gotten you too. I am going back and forth on if I should just put up with it until my booking appointment next week. I tried to get an appointment with the GP today but was unsuccessful.

My rampant crying is easing up. When I was four weeks and travelling to the US, I sobbed during two different movies on the flight. They had sad moments, but I’m not the sort of person to cry at movies! I’d recommend both movies though. One was “Finding Your Feet” and the other was “Lad: A Yorkshire Story”.

hopefulbabydust123 · 24/10/2018 21:36

Hi everyone, sorry haven't posted an update the past few days I haven't been feeling very good with morning sickness. Went to my early scan on Monday and everything was fine, looks like a little jelly Bean at the moment, saw the heartbeat and umbilical cord too which was amazing. They have said my official due date is now 29th May but will stay on this group if you all don't mind as could still be a June baby haha :)

Tryingtoswallow101 · 24/10/2018 21:52

Ahh sorry!! I tagged the wrong poppyseed BlushGrin

But hello poppyseed!

Skee · 24/10/2018 22:09

I think I’ll go back to using asterisks 😬😳😂

poppyseed · 24/10/2018 22:21

@poppyseed2
I bled 3 times in the first few weeks with DD. I'm ORh-ve and had scans and anti-D jabs. It can sometimes happen as the placenta develops. Went on to have a 7lb 3oz baby. She's also ORh-ve too so all that worry for nothing. At the time I was worried sick. With second pregnancy, nothing at all.
Hoping that all is well tomorrow.

Fabuluce · 25/10/2018 02:20

Good luck Poppyseed2. Keeping everything crossed for you. I had a bleed in my first pregnancy that ended up being classed as an implantation bleed that just didn't come out until later (it was at 10 weeks). Scary as anything.

Congrats to all the successful scanners today, there's been quite a few of us! I'm another, with baby measuring spot on at 7+3 with a beautiful strong heartbeat. It got a bit dusty in there for a while! Kescilly did you end up having an internal or external in the end?

socktastic · 25/10/2018 04:04

Congrats to everyone on their successful scans. Sending positive thoughts your way @popyseed2.

Anyone else struggling at night. So tired during the day, struggling to keep eyes open after 5pm but then can't sleep. Also been waking up at this time, dh has put the heating on ridiculously early.... And cannot get back to sleep. Sending my mind into overdrive.

Also considering telling a couple of my TAs at work. I have 2 autistic boys in my class who can potentially turn violent if they're in that sort of mood. Sort of hit me yesterday when one was being a bit hitty when he wasn't getting his own way. They've never got too bad but if they did, I'd need them taken away from me. I really really don't want to tell people this early though.

Napssavelives · 25/10/2018 07:27

Is anyone else feeling huge? My boobs look massive and my stomach is bloated. Having to use a hair band to make my clothes hit and I feel so uncomfortable. I’m only 6 + 4 but this is baby number 3 so maybe everything expands quicker (I’m also usually a size 8 so there isn’t anywhere for it to hide). It’s going to be tricky to hide this for another 5 and a bit weeks

stellarfox · 25/10/2018 07:52

Great news to those who have had successful scans! I’m having my first midwife appointment this morning and then hopefully will book my first scan. I’m 8 weeks today!

Reastiepeace · 25/10/2018 07:53

Morning everyone and what a lovely message from poppyseed.

Re bleeding just thought I’d add into the mix last time I had spotting at 8 weeks and had a huge panic. Got a scan done and all was fine but it turned out the bleed was caused by dh and I dtd which can cause spotting after.

Blondcat · 25/10/2018 08:23

@napssaveslives I am 6+1 with my first and yup already gone up almost two cup sizes and bought some waistband extenders which are slightly more comfy than the hairband trick was for me. Glad we are going into cooler weather from the point of view that big jumpers are easier to hide in than slinky summer clothes.

Kescilly · 25/10/2018 08:36

@Fabuluce congrats on your scan! Mine was external. She warned me about the possibility of an internal scan beforehand, but I drank all the water ahead of time like you guys suggested. As soon as she started scanning she said I definitely wouldn’t need an internal. So I guess it was really clear! I think she said I have an anteverted uterus so that must have helped.

@Napssavelives I think I felt bigger at five weeks than I do now, I was so bloated. I needed a new bra almost immediately which shocked me because I naively thought my breasts wouldn’t get larger until I was much further along.

@stellarfox I hope that your appointment today goes well!

Kimbishop86 · 25/10/2018 08:53

I have my scan today at 11:20. Thankfully haven’t actually bled for a couple days and I’m feeling quite positive about it so fingers crossed! Hopefully I’ll be as lucky as everyone else has been!!

JBCG · 25/10/2018 08:59

Good luck @Kimbishop86 x

Torsz · 25/10/2018 09:24

Good luck @Kimbishop86 ☺️

I also think I'm less bloated than I was at 5-7 weeks (9+1 now). I bought maternity tights and trousers at 5 weeks as my clothes all felt horrifically tight - I'm still wearing them but definitely not as big as I was!

I had a really horrible dream where I mc last night and I felt totally gutted. I was so confused when I woke, and now don't really know how to feel! Hoping it's not indicative of anything!
