@JBCG
My emotions have been a bit all over the place, I'm so angry 😂 I don't know why but I'm constantly snapping at anyone! There seems to be no boundaries, my poor DP.

poppyseed2 · 24/10/2018 15:12

I started to bleed this afternoon, spoke to my GP and got a referral to the EPU so just waiting to get called for a scan. Probably tomorrow before they'll see me

JBCG · 24/10/2018 15:16

Good luck @poppyseed2 x

stellarfox · 24/10/2018 15:24

@toomanyflatwhites Tricky one at work - does it affect your maternity package at all applying for an internal promotion?

@JBCG I cried in an art gallery I was in a couple of days ago because it was really sad Van Gogh had such a hard life and never knew how amazing he was. It’s actually such a sad story! Although I don’t think I would ordinarily cry at that!

curlypasta · 24/10/2018 16:16

How many people have you told? I’m 6 weeks today and desperate to tell friends but it’ll then be the longest ever pregnancy so I’m holding back!

MadeInCornwallx3 · 24/10/2018 16:37

Ooh what a lovely list we have now! Thanks @SassehMonsta !

@BoonDog82 I'm sorry you feel so sick. I think if you can't keep even fluids down it's probably a good idea to call the GP as dehydration is the real risk there. They may be able to offer you something otherwise some of the other lovely ladies on this thread with bad sickness may have some coping tips!

@curlypasta I've told my closest friends as they would guess the minute The Prosecco failed to make an appearance 😂 I figure if it went wrong I would tell them anyway. Also parents and sister know for same reasons. I think it's totally individual- if you want to tell people great, if not - also great! X

toomanyflatwhites · 24/10/2018 16:42

@stellarfox it's all continuous employment so won't affect my package - I feel slightly less bad staying in the same role than accepting a 12 month temp role then only doing half of it!
And @curlypasta am seeing 2 of my oldest friends today (I'm 6+1) and thinking I'll tell them as might not see them again for a few months. So far have only told 2 friends who I shared pregnancy with last time, plus my yoga teacher and the whole of MN 🤣 DP thinks it's weird to tell less close friends before family but I feel like I have to tell someone and better those few who knew we were TTC.

hexagon01 · 24/10/2018 16:46

I’ve only told 1 friend, she’s probably my best friend but also lives about 6 hours away so feels ‘safe’, also is someone I would talk to if anything went wrong.

Love to everyone with sickness, twinges and other stresses. It feels like this time will last forever at this point but it won’t!

hexagon01 · 24/10/2018 16:48

My parents are coming to stay with us at the weekend so will almost certainly tell them then, I’m an absolute mess sickness wise and I look super pregnant with bloat and they’re not polite enough not to mention it!

Skee · 24/10/2018 17:03

I am Pregosaurus Rex. Hear me ROAR 🙈

Im a totally grumpy cow - so I sympathise @JBCG, although I wish I was tearful rather than ragey 😳🙈

toasterstrudle · 24/10/2018 17:09

@poppyseed2 how scary, I'm so sorry. Hope alll goes well at epu

Kescilly · 24/10/2018 17:14

@poppyseed2 hope the bleeding eases up and you get your scan soon.

fee1234 · 24/10/2018 17:41

Had my first midwife appointment today, lasted 1.5 hours. Asked every question under the sun, took bloods, urine, carbon monoxide breath test. Classed me as low risk so I'm on the green pathway, whatever that means!

Apparently my practice is part of a pilot programme where you only see the one midwife and she will even be there at the birth. Thankfully she seemed like a nice lady.

Napssavelives · 24/10/2018 18:07

1.5 hours?! Wowzer, I’ve got mine in mid November and it says to allow 1 hour 15 mins which I was hoping was a bit of an over estimate! This is baby number 3 here so I have limited questions, hoping j won’t be in there that long!

Kescilly · 24/10/2018 18:16

Good grief, 1.5 hours?! Not looking forward to that.

I’ve got my early scan in about an hour and I can’t remember the last time I was this nervous. My SIL had a MMC and found out at her eight week scan so I can’t get that out of my mind. They did go on to have my lovely niece though.

Torsz · 24/10/2018 18:16

Mine said to allow 1hr15 but it took 1hr50! We were so hungry by the end 😂

SockQueen · 24/10/2018 18:20

Had a private scan today, one bean with heartbeat seen, measuring 7+5, pretty much exactly as I thought!

socktastic · 24/10/2018 18:39

Hormones setting in here. Just cried buckets as dh phoned to say the shit had hit the fan at work so he's no idea when he'll be home. Up to me to bath and bed the toddler and prepare something nice for tea. Papa John's counts as preparing something nice yeah?

pollykins151 · 24/10/2018 18:59

Good luck again @Kescilly

Finally got date through for my booking app next week when I will be 9+3. It took about an hour last time i think but everything was fairly straight forward. I defo had to give bloods and wee samples at that appointment.

pollykins151 · 24/10/2018 19:00

@socktastic defo order in that pizza!!!!

Skee · 24/10/2018 19:14

Have you heard anything from the epu @poppyseed? Hope you’re ok x x

@Socktastic, pizza for tea sounds perfect! I’ve been left with dinner, bath and bed tonight too, DH is out for a work thing. I left the house at 6:30am this morning to drive a 6hr round trip, so also looking forward to bedtime 😴

Napssavelives · 24/10/2018 19:19

@sockqueen glad the scan went well!

I’m not spending 2 hours at a booking appointment. It’s at 1030 and I 100% have to be out of there by 12 as I have another appointment to get to! I only have 1 day off a week so have a lot to squeeze in. I’m on a zero hour contract so don’t get paid for time off for maternity appointments

Kescilly · 24/10/2018 19:41

Scan went well! We saw a heartbeat and everything. She was lovely and said it was like a textbook. ☺️

She’s put us a bit ahead so 8+5 instead of 8+1, but I suspected that might happen. Still can’t believe it.

mindthechaos · 24/10/2018 19:58

Glad the scan went well @kescilly

@poppyseed2 hope everything is ok with you

Tryingtoswallow101 · 24/10/2018 19:59

It’s hard to keep up on this thread! That list is looking lovely and long now! I’ve also noticed about 5 million pregnant women this week - something I have never noticed before!

Congrats to all those who’ve had their lovely scans today.

@poppyseed everything crossed for you lovely Flowers
