@Kescilly it really did help - we told too many people too early last time and having to tell them I'd lost it at 4+5 was horrible. Because it was so early a lot of people didn't understand. However, having my mum and best friend to lean on has been invaluable, just to have somebody to talk to that isn't DH!

jacquejacque · 21/10/2018 11:35

Oh and I'm feeling fine thank you, scan is at 8am tomorrow and I'm really nervous but all worrying symptoms have stopped and so I'm holding on to hope x

Curlywurly3 · 21/10/2018 11:40

@twig @kescilly the last time I'd looked at that page it hadn't been updated since 2016 so wondered if anyone had been in the same predicament. They've updated the site in August so I guess it's a no go. I hope I can get my money back!

I wonder how Megan Markle is getting around it in Fiji and Tonga!

Morning everyone and welcome to the new joiners congratulations on the bfp's. Sorry for those with spotting etc.
I am 5+4 today boobs are definitely larger have bought a couple of bigger bras (already have to wear boulder holders!) to try and allow them some room and hoping that helps them be a bit less sore. Really tired the last couple of days too.

curlypasta · 21/10/2018 12:58

Can’t stop testing even tho it’s so beautifully clear!!

Afternoon all. Congratulations to everyone on your BFPs! I am due to go to Hurghada with DP at the end of this month and I'm not sure if I should. I'm 5+3 and my doctor basically said it's my choice .. which I don't know if that's a good or bad thing! Any suggestions / advice? Thanks!

Fabuluce · 21/10/2018 13:33

Hi all

Blimey this bus moves fast! Like others have said, the bus I had for my little chap was, and still is, invaluable and we are now all celebrating our smalls 3rd birthdays together, amazing!

Insatiable hunger has kicked in today. Omg I just want to eat the world! I've recently lost almost 2 stone before doing this round of IVF and I'm determined not to go crazy....but dear god I'm hungry! I don't even know where to begin with what might actually fill me up!

I also have random cramping, lower abdo pains and aches. I had exactly the same with DS and spent all of the first tri obsessively googling it but never finding much other than round ligament pain which isn't supposed to kick in until the 2nd tri. I call BS on that one and say it definitely is A Thing in the first tri too!

Fabuluce · 21/10/2018 13:34

Oops forgot to say, I'm 7 weeks today, woohoo!

Zofloqueen93 · 21/10/2018 14:00

Can I join please?

Got my BFP on 6th october 2018, EDD 14th June. I am 6w2d. This is our first child and I must say I am full off worry. Booked a early scan for the 3rd Nov where I should be 8w1d. For the last week I had really sore breasts and nausea as well as terrible heartburn. The breasts have subsided and its more just sensitive nipples.
Hoping everyone a healthy pregnancy journey Smile

CollyWombles · 21/10/2018 14:09

Ladies, I'm actually miserable! Not from morning sickness but excessive in every sense of the word flatulence. Literally seems like every two minutes. I hate it and it's so embarrassing.

Fabuluce · 21/10/2018 14:46

Colly I am with you. I am utterly fart-tastic. Thankfully we are a fart friendly residence here or I'd be in utter misery.

pollykins151 · 21/10/2018 15:03

I was so hungry yesterday when we were Out shopping I nearly cried. We had to go to the Morrison's cafe to feed me 😂 then I was so full I was nearly sick haha

fee1234 · 21/10/2018 15:11

Ughhh we are going to see a show tonight with the in laws (they don't know about pregnancy and we won't be telling them for another month), and they have insisted on driving us up.. which means I'll have to sit in the back seat of their car which always smells like their dogs 🤢 having a hard enough time battling the nausea when I drive myself but half an hour in their car will make me feel terrible. I could gag just now thinking about it.

Hopefully I can make it without getting sick and telling them early 😞 really didn't want them to know until 12 weeks

SockQueen · 21/10/2018 15:29

My friend guessed yesterday when she tried to drag me into a wine bar! She already suspected a few weeks ago when I made a very feeble excuse for not drinking then, so decided to test me out...

Pigriver · 21/10/2018 15:31

The sore boobs kicked in this morning. Realised when ds (3) jumped on them.
Went swimming this morning as I am determined to be in better shape than last time. I have a fairly active job and was reasonable slim so thought I’d be fine. I put on 3.5 stone and had sciatica, SPD and PGP plus needed 9 months of physio after the birth! I only managed to shift the last of the weight 6 months ago.
Anyway after 1 width of breast stroke my hips started to protest and I was relegated to doggy paddle. Going to keep it up thought and book in for some preggo yoga/Pilates when I turn 12 weeks.

So top tip for those first timers, pelvic floor excersices and be in the best physical condition you can be in!

marshallskychase · 21/10/2018 15:51

pigriver i piled on 3 stone last pregnancy too. I was so scared of having another miscarriage I didn't do a single bit of exercise throughout. I'm still struggling to lose all the weight now. Definitely regret that decision! I'm determined to exercise and eat healthily throughout this pregnancy. I've downloaded the NHS healthy eating app and trying to work from that.

Has anyone been watching that "help i'm having a baby" programme on BBC? It's so realistic about what's to come!

Reastie · 21/10/2018 15:59

I put on 5 stone last pg Blush . I had terrible nausea throughout and had to eat or it got worse and half the time could only face thing s like crisps. I lost it all (and more) but it was a hard slog. I wish I hadn’t put on that much but then it was the only thing that got me through the nausea so I wasn’t eating from laziness. Would like it to be less this time and am aiming for less but I’ll do what I have to to get through and cope. When you’re lying on a bed all day every day feeling like you’ll be sick the next second if you don’t eat every hour it’s just something to do to help the nausea. So far every day this week I’ve done 30 minutes every morning in my exercise bike, would like to continue this as much as I can if nausea allows. I’m very active and healthy irl but nausea and exhaustion is making me struggle.

hexagon01 · 21/10/2018 16:01

Hi all! Definitely agree with @Pigriver about the above...I really suffered with SPD last time and could barely move by the end. Trying to fit in exercise but it’s hard and I’ll be going back to preggo yoga as soon as I’m allowed!

Today I’m only 5+3 and yet the bloating, nausea, burping, food revulsion but also insatiable hunger has hit. Too early for this!!

Reastie · 21/10/2018 16:11

Time is going SOOOO SLOWLY! It’s like there’s time and then there’s pregnancy slow time!

curlypasta · 21/10/2018 16:13

I’ve put on 7 stone with my 2 previous babies, only just started losing recently (ds is 3) and Im back here again, but determined not to put any on. I’m on SlimmingWorld now and going to stick religiously to it. And then post birth and breastfeeding I will NOT eat picket after packet of hobnobs. Determined!!
Whole heartedly agree with the pelvic floor and fitness statement, I had 4th degree tears both times and lots of physio but I can still run without wetting my pants. (Sneezing with a full bladder is questionable tho!)

hexagon01 · 21/10/2018 16:32

Does anyone else crave meat when pregnant? I was veggie going into my last pregnancy and that...did not last. Now I generally eat meat max two times a week but I’m craving hearty meaty meals like mad again. Is that a thing?

JBCG · 21/10/2018 16:46

I'm typically not very active (bad I know) but I work in an office, drive to and from work and have always used the excuse that I'm too busy. Obviously I would have liked to be in better shape before getting pregnant but it happened very quickly! Is it a bad idea to start exercising now at 5+3? I'm not sure if I can start now or if it was something I should have done before BFP! I'm generally quite healthy and not overweight but just inactive and pretty unfit. Everything I've read recommends being in shape for pregnancy but I don't know if that means you should already be in shape or if you can start while pregnant. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Pigriver · 21/10/2018 17:23

@JBCH I’d start with a daily walk then maybe start to add in some swimming and then some yoga later on. As long as you are not over doing it you’ll be fine. I mean don’t start running sprints!
I was surprised at how badly my whole body was affected. Hips, knees, ankles. I was staggering around like an old lady (well I am already rather old....)

JBCG · 21/10/2018 17:32

@Pigriver thank you! I think I'll start going for walks on my lunch break and go from there. As you say, I don't want to overdo it but I also don't want to be a couch potato for the next 9 months! A bit nervous about gaining too much weight as it is!

Pigriver · 21/10/2018 17:55

I totally took the eating for 2 thing way too far! I shifted the last ofhe weight with SW so I'm going to keep going throughout this pregnancy to try and limit the gain. Like ofthes have said I suffered badly with nausea in the beginning and just ate carbs which I usually didn't eat much of and it just piled on.
I had an episiotomy and forceps and then my stitches got infected and u could barely walk for months. Downstairs was ruined and I needed physio on my PF as well as my body. It was a tough recovery.
I'm leaning towards a CS this time after my last experience.
