Calling all up-duffed Yammers! Come and continue the swearing and the love on our pregnancy thread, and let us never forget how lucky we are! Smile

I'm still waiting for the 'glow' Dino

Wonky love please don't beat yourself up. An awful lot of the yoga mummies are probably into it before and strict dieters. Which is fine, but you're making a baby, and if you're not naturally a reed (I'm very not) then pregnancy isn't going to be different. 14 is not big, or if it is then I am too and honestly I don't feel it. and I'm not tall. A 14 and a bit stubby And if you plan to BF it'll all fall off anyway.

SoozC · 18/10/2018 19:43

I weighed myself today and I'm nearly back up to my highest ever weight (12st 3) which I was over ten years ago. Worked hard to lose 2 stone and feedback keep it off but now I'm back there. I'm a size 14 now and small (5'1") and it's a pain. But I do my aquanatal class every week and though it's full of slim ladies in bikinis, I keep going with my wobbly thighs and second-hand unflattering swimsuit because I know it's good for me! So I feel your pain, Wonky, but if you otherwise enjoy it then try to stick with it.

I am in bed, have been for an hour already. Just sooooo tired these days. One more day before half-term, thank goodness. And my bump - I look down or in a mirror and think to myself "Where did THAT come from?!" It's very weird. It's nice, but weird. DH said today he doesn't know how I cope - that he'd be panicking already. I told him that's why women bear the children!

Thankyou ladies. Definitely no 'glow' here either, but I'm feeling a bit kinder towards myself tonight.

One more day before half term for those with DC and teachers alike, hurrah! (I fit in neither of those categories but am taking a few days off to spend with friends and family)

SoozC · 19/10/2018 07:07

Yeah, half-term, I can't wait!! Just 2 more lessons, an assembly and golden time, then I can sleep for a week.

Hi everyone!
I'm not sure anyone remember me as I haven't posted for ages. I'm now 32 +2 weeks.
It all going very fast now. I also start maternity leave after today. Yay!

Great to read the thread to see how everyone is doing.

X

Si1ver · 19/10/2018 09:28

Happy last days at work @Sooz and @Mamababynumber2

This is my last full day at work. Next week I go down to four days a week by the cunning application of annual leave. I've also finally found someone to cover my maternity leave. Unfortunately she's quite expensive and can't start as soon as I would like, so I'll have to see what can be negotiated otherwise it's back to the drawing board.

BGDino · 19/10/2018 19:36

@WonkyDonk87 early morphology 12 week this coming Friday!

Went maternity clothes shopping with my Mum yesterday as I had no trousers that fit ☹️ My Mum reckons she had more choice in the 80s in the UK than I do today in Australia!!!

WonkyDonk87 · 19/10/2018 19:59

@BGDino There's slim pickings here in the UK too! H&M for basics, Mothercare if desperate, Jojo Maman Bebe if you're feeling flush! Everything else is online so is a gamble.
Let us know how your scan goes

Hopeislost · 24/10/2018 08:24

How is everyone getting on?

@SoozC I hope you're having a restful half-term!

Si1ver · 24/10/2018 08:55

I've had hideous pelvic pain over the weekend, really grinding and dragging. It's cleared up now fortunately, but I'll have to mention it to my midwife as I could barely walk on Saturday night.

I went and bought a cot on Sunday, which I'll need to put together soon. 26 weeks now, I'm finally starting to relax a bit more about the pregnancy and think that I might actually get a baby out the other end.

WonkyDonk87 · 24/10/2018 15:12

@Si1ver "Out the other end" 😂😂😂

LimpLettice · 24/10/2018 16:13

Hahaha.

Sounds nasty S1lver. Mw says my discomfort is coz baby is pretty well engaged so I feel like I'm sitting in his head half the time.

Knackered, lovely yammers. 2 more days although I think I've a few bits to do next week. I never truly get away properly...

Final growth scan Friday afternoon, plus sweep booked for 2 weeks time. I have to get the consultant to agree in writing to the mw unit with the proviso I stay diet controlled on Friday. My midwife is happy but all depends on what the consultant says. I think they'll also be pushing for induction so it'll probly be a bit of a stroppy appointment. Him or me I don't know yet

Si1ver · 24/10/2018 17:08

You're the other end @WonkyDonk87 😂

Hope you get the outcome you're after @Limp. I can't believe how nearly there you are.

LimpLettice · 25/10/2018 12:42

It has gone relatively quickly I think S1lver. Just would like to get it done now. I have remembered that pregnancy lasts 8 months and 12 years.

SoozC · 25/10/2018 16:17

Thanks, Hope, I am feeling very rested and getting a good night's sleep almost every night, which just emphasises the fact that when I'm at work I get far less. Makes my early mat leave decision feel even more like the right one.

Good luck with your last day tomorrow, Limp!

Hope the pelvic pain has eased off, Si1ver. I have a physio group next Tuesday for mine, although it's not as bad as it was (when I'm not at work, funny that!).

31 weeks now. Got my GTT on Monday - bit late because midwife didn't tell me to book it! Damn, I'm hoping all is okay. Saw my nice really lovely, fancy him a little GP today and he said I'm a fifth engaged! I know it's no indication of when labour will happen but it suddenly makes it sound very, very real!

Hopeislost · 26/10/2018 12:39

@LimpLettice I hope your last day is uneventful!

I got an appointment letter from the hospital yesterday which really confused me until I realised it was for my first IVF appointment!

LimpLettice · 26/10/2018 14:43

Last day done huzzah!!! Well I've got to pop in Tuesday for an hour or two but mainly I'm done. Some lovely gifts including a big ole bottle of pink gin, exactly what every newborns mama needs

Now girding my loins ready for the no induction battle.

Fingers crossed your GTT is clear Sooz. Else I shall be fbing you pix of yam brownies

WonkyDonk87 · 26/10/2018 16:48

@Hopeislost Would it be terribly inappropriate for you to send them a picture of your positive pregnancy test as a "thanks but no thanks!"? 😂

LimpLettice · 26/10/2018 18:17

Hahah do that, Hope! I had my recurrent miscarriage appt through at about 5 months pregnant and was pretty pleased to shred that shit!

Well, yammers, I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself. Still diet controlled, no excess growth or restricted growth, still 50th centile and looking good. No induction before EDD, and as long as I go into labour spontaneously I can use the MLBU. Means there will be floor cleaning and shagging a plenty after my first sweep, if I can face the sex haha, but if I can get going it's all good. Keep everything crossed. Except me knees, obvs 😂.

SoozC · 27/10/2018 14:42

Fingers crossed your GTT is clear Sooz. Else I shall be fbing you pix
of yam brownies
😂

All sounds good, Limp! You must be 36 weeks now? Isn't time flying suddenly? I find it hard to believe just 7 months ago I was moaning and bitching about not being pregnant. Now he's nearly here!

Would like a moan though - shared a memory on FB and tagged my two best friends, about two days ago. They've been on FB but neither have 'liked' it. AIBU to be pissed off?! I'm fed up of people not interacting on social media! What do they think it's there for?!

Rant over. I blame the hormones.

BTW - anyone else not really getting kicks but getting lots of wriggles instead? He tends to push against me, rather than kicking. I'm trying to do kick counts at least once a day but not sure what to count as a kick!

Hope you're all having a good weekend, Yammers. Nearly December and then the lovely Christmas run-up to enjoy. This year is going to be much happier than last year!

Started car seat shopping..... my head hurts 😭

Si1ver · 28/10/2018 18:51

It's hideous isn't it @WonkyDonk87. In the end I outsourced it to my husband. We ended up with a maxi Cosi one.

In other news my little sister is pregnant again. She told me last month that she was going to start trying for her second and first month.... Tah dah. I'm mean I'm pleased for her and glad that she didn't have to go through the shit that we did. But at the same time I'm so fucking jealous. She just gets to have sex a couple of times and I have years of disappointment and painful tests and medication and surgery.

WonkyDonk87 · 28/10/2018 19:17

@Si1ver I know! I'm always so amazed when it happens so quickly in some instances. I never had to have medication/IVF in the end, and I count myself as very fucking lucky.

Which one did you go for in the end? I'm currently debating the Rock or the Pebble plus. Had advice from two shops and they recommended one each as best 🤦🏽‍♀️

Si1ver · 28/10/2018 19:24

We got the pebble plus apparently, I did just have to ask though.

I'm also upset that I'm so jealous of her. And I'm pissed off that my mother told me. It's not her secret to tell, it's my sister's. My mother and I had a huge falling out after she told my sisters about my IVF when I asked her not to. I feel like she's learnt nothing from that situation.

WonkyDonk87 · 28/10/2018 20:09

You can't change your immediate emotional responses, they're automatic. As long as you don't let it affect your relationship with her, and it doesn't overwhelm you, then I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.
So your mum told you? Not her? Not cool. (Unless your sister asked her to?) I'm assuming she's early on still too, she may not want people to know yet.
