Calling all up-duffed Yammers! Come and continue the swearing and the love on our pregnancy thread, and let us never forget how lucky we are! Smile

She can only be 4 weeks along tops. When I saw her two months back she was still on the pill. And yes my mum not her, I can't imagine my sister wants me to know.

I'd like to pretend that I'm mainly cross with my mum, but I'm not I'm just jealous 😆

NimbleKnitter · 28/10/2018 22:58

Ah guys! I found you!

That was waaaaay too taxing for my sleep deprived brain.

We are slowly emerging from the newborn tunnel (I won’t lie, it’s been fucking grim), but we’re all alive, hooray!

12 weeks today!

Si1ver · 29/10/2018 09:13

Congratulations on surviving @NimbleKnitter. How are you doing now?

NimbleKnitter · 29/10/2018 09:46

Much better! Getting some sleep makes all the difference.

Looking back, it got better quite quickly, but at the time it felt like it was going to be shit forever.

IWantChocolates · 29/10/2018 17:38

So glad you found us again, Nimble!

I can't believe it's been 12 weeks... Really? It barely seems a month or two since we were all still moaning away about ttc! I'm glad everything is going well for you both Smile

Stuffed up my GTT today, Yammers, by eating breakfast. How was I suppose to know/remember that it was a fasting test?! No idea if the midwife mentioned it to me at my last appointment, as that was weeks ago and I have baby brain.

I'm a bit worried now, though, because it's rescheduled for next week but I'll be around 32 weeks by then. I know GD can cause issues if left undiagnosed... It's just stress I could do without, tbh.

LimpLettice · 29/10/2018 20:00

Nimble! Glad you found us. The newborn fug is pretty intense isn't it? A little more sleep changes everything. This boy moves all day and all night and it worries me he's gonna be a total non sleeper and I'll be even more haggard than I am now!

28 weeks is usual Iwant, round here anyway, but try not to worry. If you are measuring large or got any symptoms then you can cut sugar / carbs now if you are worried and that will help. I'm still totally diet controlled 2 months after diagnosis and although it's tough, it's doable.

Oh and S1lver I still, at 37 weeks, avoid the friend who got pregnant first month ttc without telling me she was ttc when she knew we were and when I'd just had my first m/c. I'm aware I'm totally ridiculous, but I can't do anything about how I feel, it just is. I just hide it as best I can.

SoozC · 30/10/2018 07:51

Oops, sorry, Yammers, that was me posting under another name! I forgot to change back to my usual one, sorry. I realised at about half six this morning, lying awake. I even, Limp, scrolled up after your post to find the post of this mysteriously-named person you were replying to and the penny didn't drop!!

I will endeavour to be me again from now on Grin

That's really funny @SoozC. I was wondering if I'd blanked out a Yammer.

I've been sorting out the nursery for the last couple of days, it's starting to look amazing. I'm just debating what sort of nursing chair to get. My husband has promised me that I can have one of the shark chairs from Made.com but I'm struggling to justify the price of a chair I've never sat on, just because it looks cool.

LimpLettice · 30/10/2018 08:34

Thank goodness Sooz! I even typed a reply asking if I'd blanked you out due to baby brain but then felt stupid! Ha.

I just have a tub chair S1lver. After a week or two I found I was feeding DD in bed anyway so didn't want to spend a fortune but honestly I'd take the nice chair. I have a beautiful armchair downstairs with foot stool and would love another upstairs but not for that money...

NimbleKnitter · 30/10/2018 08:48

I’d say the best thing is to get a feeding cushion, like the bbhug me. You can wrap it around yourself to support your back and you can rest your elbow on it when feeding, so you don’t have all the weight on your back.

I agree with limp - pretty quickly you won’t want to get up to feed every time, and initially a 40 minute feed feels like an eternity

Si1ver · 30/10/2018 09:50

I've got a feeding cushion already @Nimble my little sister gave it to me.

I'm thinking obviously some feeding, but also pre bed snuggles and reading books and stuff. Has anyone else got their eyes on anything nice chairwise?

I like all of these www.made.com/kubrick-wing-back-chair-ochre-yellow

www.made.com/rubens-wingback-armchair-light-moss

www.made.com/facet-accent-chair-marl-grey-and-light-grey

But this is the shark one. www.made.com/rodnik-shark-fin-chair

NimbleKnitter · 30/10/2018 11:26

Oh in that case go shark! It’s awesome

SoozC · 30/10/2018 11:31

I am getting a rocking chair. It's been my dream for years and I will make a cushion cover to match the curtains. Except I've nowhere to put it right now so it'll have to wait.

Si1ver · 30/10/2018 11:44

How's the house buying going Sooz?

I do love the shark Nimble but I think I might go for the facet instead as it's £200 cheaper. Also, if I get the shark the child is clearly going to claim it as their own eventually.

NimbleKnitter · 30/10/2018 12:04

Ooh, £200 would get you a second hand mamaroo - an absolute life saver

SoozC · 30/10/2018 12:33

Crapping it, Si1ver - we've got a house purchase starting. Problem is, I stupidly went into arrears on a credit card earlier this year so my own bank, who'd previously agreed a mortgage in principle, won't lend to me so I have a mortgage broker trying to help me out. I haven't told DH that my stupidity may lose us the house and then everything else goes tits up; renting longer and having maternity pay buggering up my payslips so getting a mortgage before about this time next year would be hard too.

It's really weighing heavily on my mind. Could do with some Yammer luck on this one.

OP posts:
Si1ver · 30/10/2018 13:05

Oof, that sounds hard. Hope the mortgage advisor can help you out. We had a very good one who can do you a phone consultation if needs be. He's a bit of a wide boy, but sorted out a complicated one mortgage owner to two port break cause thing for us a couple of years back and saved us about £5k in the process. If you get stuck let me know and I'll dig out his number for you.

Also - tell your husband. You'll feel better once he knows. X

WonkyDonk87 · 30/10/2018 13:54

Definitely just tell your DH @SoozC , you'll feel better in the long run. We're renegotiating our mortgage too. Want to get it done before MiniWonk arrives and I go onto maternity pay. Plus DH has decided he wants to leave his job (fucking brilliant timing) so this is the most stable we'll appear to the banks for a while. Good luck

Si1ver · 30/10/2018 14:10

Ha. I remember last time we did ours, we went for a five year fix, thinking that we'd have had both the kids we wanted before we'd need to do it again. laughs hollowly it'll need redoing before I go back from maternity leave.

LimpLettice · 30/10/2018 17:34

I'd tell him too Sooz, just rip the plaster off. A good broker will fix that no problem. Mine is amazing and am about to work her magic for the 4th time now we have accepted an offer on DHs London flat.

There are rules about maternity leave, you have to be treated as if you are still in your pre leave position for your mortgage while on smp, I double checked coz we need to extend mine with DHs income.

I'm sitting waiting in the GP as what started as a tiny bump on my tongue has today grown into some huge and hideous purple lesion. Google scared the shit out of me so thought with only a couple of weeks to go I'd better get it looked at. In case it explodes or something.

LimpLettice · 30/10/2018 19:03

Gosh I'm so lucky. My lump is pregnancy related, most likely a granuloma which is a bit like a not nasty vascular tumour. Have to go dentist and probably maxilofacial tomo to see if it needs to come off because it's painful and won't just burst or go down. Fucks sakes!

Si1ver · 30/10/2018 19:10

Oh my god Limp you're totally due the world's easiest birth after all of this.

Hopeislost · 30/10/2018 19:16

@Si1ver I love the shark chair but I think I'd cry if it got stained with baby vomit! Like @SoozC I would like a rocking chair. Our sofa is really low so I think I'll struggle to get off it with a babe in arms.

@LimpLettice That sounds horrid 💐

SoozC · 30/10/2018 19:43

Agree, Limp, you'd better have the best birth ever after all this or the universe is a wanker!

LimpLettice · 30/10/2018 20:17

Ha. Story of my life. I'll probly have a 5 day induction with DH back to work the day we get out. Good job I've got a sense of humour.
