Poor love, catkin, I am sorry about your dreadful 10 minutes. I don't know anything abou babies so can't advise on feeding but good luck. I know this is silly but you haven't put anything on your tits like body lotion, have you - maybe he can taste it.

OOOO double post !

Catkin...Em gets to a stage sometimes where she's so hungry and gets so giddy that she pushes me out of the way and attacks her hands instead. She also finds it hard to latch on if I'm engorged. Could you try expressing a bit off first to see if that helps?

Actually Doggus, I did use some nipple butter the other day. It said it was fine to use when BF but i bet he just didn't like the taste and now it's put him off!!

Will try that at the next feed too Daisy. My boobs are humumgous so it may be that he's finding it all a bit much!!

My poor dd used to get suffocated by my enormous norks and couldn't breathe! Expressing a bit beforehand works a treat!

My MW said that boys can be a bit slower to catch on than girls as well, but don't know if there's any truth in that. Although DS never quite caught on to it and DD has taken to it like a duck to water

Pingu, give delivery suite a call and talk to a MW. If its pinkish or streaked mucous I'd think it was a show.

Try not to worry about it, its hopefully the start of things, but because there's fresh blood there then think its worth a call.

Yep, Lansinoh is the business. Also Savoy cabbage leaves are a must IME.

And I'm afraid its a strict no-chocolate, strawberries, OJ, champagne (for some people) diet now.

Apparently plain chocolate doesn't affect them as badly as milk. I'll be testing that theory.

Just popped back on. yes thanks Foxy, had a lovely relaxing day. Ate lots of croissants, choccie, ice cream etc.!

Got DH a babygro saying "I love my daddy" (though obviously for the LO to wear not him!) and my mum found me some "dad" sweets and a Father-to-be card. Just locked myself in the loo and wrapped it there as it's difficult to get any privacy in a little flat!
