@Priscilla83 @AssumeItWasSomethingClever glad it's not just me! I'm up at least 3 times a night! The baby is lying on my bladder though according to our 20week scan so that probably explains it!

Wineandchoccy · 25/10/2018 13:37

I have just bought a close caboo sling for Β£10 in a charity shop still in its box, I hired one last time and it was great πŸ‘

melissa112 · 25/10/2018 13:47

@Angelmiracle good luck to your sister! That's so exciting! Fingers crossed for her Smile

I'm with others on the getting up to wee in the night. It's horrible, I even dream that I need the toilet then wake up and I do. 3 or 4 times a night. Got my 20 wk scan on Monday so will be interested to see where baby is lying.

@Wineandchoccy that's a great bargain!

Priscilla83 · 25/10/2018 13:52

I was really surprised how much further up baby had moved at my 20 weeks scan (2 weeks ago).I had been in hospital a few weeks before (surgery for an ovarian cyst removal) and baby was still really low.

It was the first scan we had where you could really see baby, then last week had we a midwife appointment where we heard the heart beat again. Is it just me or does everyone get hugely excited when seeing little one & hearing heartbeat! Little miracle οΏΌ

Bluebelltulip · 25/10/2018 21:21

I had my 20 week scan today and was surprised how spread out the baby is.

ballanj · 25/10/2018 22:15

@orangekitkat13 @Priscilla83 @AssumeItWasSomethingClever with you and everyone else on the weeing front. I reckon Hulk is most active when I'm asleep and takes to jumping around on my bladder like a trampoline. I think it's a myth that you get respite in the second trimester!

My wonderful GP managed to prescribe me two lots of canesten combi via online consultation so the thrush is on its way out now. Had my flu and whooping cough jabs today so I'm expecting sore arms tomorrow just in time to do the final clean on my rental before I move out. It's weird to think this is my last night here but can't wait to be with OH. Although I have apologised in advance for the nightly toilet trips that he'll now be a part of going forward,
! My waking hour seems to be at 4am though this morning I was up then and again at 6. Woke up for work at 7 and felt wiped.

MsLioness · 25/10/2018 22:29

@angelmiracle any news on your sister? So exciting!

I'm with everyone else who is over the peeing all night thing, so frustrating! I've been given antibiotics for a uti as had a positive test with the midwife despite non of the usual symptoms, so wondering if once they kick in I might get some respite from getting 3 times a night plus!

@wineandchoccy is the caboo a stretchy type sling, I'm thinking something like that would be good for the newborn phase but didn't think of that first time round so have mo experience!

Hermagsjesty · 25/10/2018 22:33

With you on the wee-ing!! I am needing to go constantly. We have a very wriggly baby this time - the 20wk scan took 2.5hrs because he just would not stay in one position! I think he’s using my bladder as a trampoline.

Wineandchoccy · 25/10/2018 23:08

@MsLioness yes it is essentially 2 pieces of stretchy material but no wrapping involved do very easy to use, I recommend trying to find a sling library near you and having a try on. I hired a caboo last time then hired a Tula and then bought a Tula off a fb page.
So handy for getting jobs gone around the house, going for walks etc

Angelmiracle · 25/10/2018 23:58

Finally we have some news- baby boy weighing 8.5lb with a very full head of dark hair!! She had a long labour similar to myself with DS. Both are doing well. Mum finding it hard being so far away from them. They come over in March for a wedding and hopefully to meet DC2!!

Just realised I hadn't updated you all since the scan! Oops. Scan went great, measuring a few days ahead and confirmed we're having a girl!

Marmite2018 · 26/10/2018 11:51

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever have a fantastic day tomorrow! Hope the weather stays kind for you!

@Angelmiracle congratulations on being an auntie! How exciting!

cardboard33 · 26/10/2018 12:08

@iassumeitwassomethingclever have a great wedding tomorrow! My brother took 1000+ photos (he's an aspiring photographer so followed our actual photographer around taking lots of arty shots) and we really enjoyed being able to look at them straight after rather than waiting for the official ones as there's so much detail you miss on the day, like I completely blanked out all of the flowers and have no recollection of them so it was nice to be able to see them immediately on the photos and likewise with the table designs etc. Maybe see if you can do the same? We've done it for other people since and they've been really appreciative.

Also there on the wee front. Normally around 3am. I also need to eat then too so always have a banana next to my bed.

Priscilla83 · 26/10/2018 12:26

Has anyone had experience of having surgery during pregnancy? I've had a giant ovarian cyst removed (5weeks ago today). I had both laparoscopy and laparotomy & have dissolvable stitches. The glue has all come off but the stitches remain (& don't look like they are dissolving yet - GP said she was happy with them last week). I'm 22 weeks...bump is growing & have felt movement this week!

My question is around putting cream/moisturizer on my tummy...parts feel dry/sensitive when something rubs against it (not on the wounds). I meant to ask GP when it will be ok to use cream to moisturize but I forgot. Anyone have experience of this? Also one of the knots of the stitches seems to have unraveled, I'm going to the hospital today so was going to ask but wondered if anyone had advice/experiences?

melissa112 · 26/10/2018 14:18

@Angelmiracle congratulations! Wonderful news!!

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever have an amazing day tomorrow! The spa sounds lovely too!

@HidCat congratulations on the lovely scan of your baby girl!Glad all went well.

@Priscilla83 sorry, I have no experience/advice but didn't want to read and run. Could you give your midwife a call? Lovely for you to feel baby moving πŸ™‚

WhatALearningCurve · 26/10/2018 20:31
