MamaMaiasaura · 04/07/2007 22:09

700 is low risk. Anything 250 or less is high risk HOw was bean, was he/she moving lots. Did you get piccies? IS due date same? Glad everything ok.

sabinar · 04/07/2007 22:25

thanks Awen. I'm so glad to hear that. The doctor at the hospital wouldn't give us any kind of numbers around high risk or low risk... he'd just say 'that means that 700 women would have to come in here before there was a problem'... argh! Just tell me if I should be calm or not! V frustrating.

I like your numbers much better

the Bean was gorgeous. I can't believe how incredibly formed he is already (can't stop calling it a he even though the doctor said he'd make a 60% guess it was a girl!).

he was really active, and a bit naughty kept putting his hand near his face when they were trying to scan for the nasal bone and getting into awkward positions when they were trying to get a view of the various arteries etc. Which was good for me, as I could get a nice long look! We got a picture and I sneak a peek at it a few times a day just to remind myself it's real! (Haven't really told anyone yet... am strangely liking having it as a secret to myself... and DH of course, who is hopeless at secrets and has told everyone he works with!).

Think I'd better tell my mum soon tho otherwise she'll get upset I kept it from her for so long! (Hopefully I'm not the only person who feels like this! everyone else seems to be bursting to share the news and I'm just the opposite!)

MamaMaiasaura · 04/07/2007 22:28

I burst within half an hour of the positive result We had to go in twice cos our bean was ultra squirmy Swear i keep feeling a little flutter.

sabinar · 04/07/2007 22:32

yeah, I reckon I can feel something too - especially now that I know he's over to the left hand side a little! ... but everything I've read and heard says that it's way too early.

Still... I don't mind believing that it is little movements, even if it's something completely different.

MamaMaiasaura · 04/07/2007 22:38

me too

beller · 05/07/2007 08:16

I really cant be btohered to do anything in the evening apart from put my feet up and watch tv. Which i must admit i have become addicted to living 2 babyzone! Not sure this is a good idea for the next 5 motnhs! I am going to the gym during my lunch hour..just want to go straight home after work....Do have to do a certian amount of entertaining, but im keeping it to a minimun!

Goodluck for any other scans this week and thinking of you Naetha xxxx

MamaMaiasaura · 05/07/2007 09:39

PCM Thank you. 17th isnt too far away now. Cant believe how quickly time has gone from BFP. I have 16 weeks check on 17th. How are you doing?

Gingeme - glad yuo arent feeling sick today I hope I am now pretty much over it too. Only had 1 dodgy day in the last week.

Sarahjct · 05/07/2007 10:21

Hi everyone

I know I'll probably be shot down in flames by anyone who doesn't like the 'can I eat this or that' posts but anyway...

I've just realised that Crunchy Nut cornflakes have peanuts in them. I've only eaten one box over the last 12 weeks or whatever but I thought I'd been so careful and now I'm gutted. I know it's probably irrational but I hate the idea of my child having an allergy which is a pain in the backside at best, and fatal at worst.

Please could someone tell me I'm being daft and to get a grip? xx

spud01 · 05/07/2007 10:42

Hi everyone

Gingeme, Sarahjct & Barristermum - personally i think thats well too long to wait for first appointments, whats happening to the system nowadays

Pbirdy - i am so glad i took it into my own hands and called, would have got no where otherwise

Beller - when i spoke to midwife in the morning she said she would get back to me later that day, of course i didnt hear another thing, so will give them a chance to call today and if they dont im going to ring them again tomorrow

hope everyone well

gingeme · 05/07/2007 10:46

spud01 just told dh about my appt. He says its cut backs to think thats true..

goingfor3 · 05/07/2007 10:52

Sarahjct - One of my friends was really careful not to eat peaanuts during her pregnancy, she was really neurotic about it. Every morning she had crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast asuming they had some other kind of nut in, she didn't realise until she was 8 months pregnant!!!!
The rules changed during my pregnancies and I have eaten peanuts with all of them and my girls don't have any allergies but I was told that we have no history in either side of the family it would be fine.

goingfor3 · 05/07/2007 10:54

gingeme - that's awful! I have aleady had 2 midwives appointments and one dr's, I'm also seeing a dr today about the ameasthetic I will need when I have my stitch put it and may well see a midwife today too.

MamaMaiasaura · 05/07/2007 12:14

I cant believe how different antenatal care is according to postcode. I never really got the postcode lottery before.

MotherofZ · 05/07/2007 12:43

I've got to admit I've given into cravings for peanut butter on toast.......
Say that had nuts occasionaly throughout my last pregnancy and my dd is fine....

beller · 05/07/2007 13:44

sarahjct- my nurse said not to eat handfuls of peanuts if there was any asthma or excema in the family..I dont have either but both my sisters suffer with asthma..do you have that in your family?

When i got my ante natal folder it had a list of appts in the back? I basically see someonw every 4 weeks (ish), then every 2 weeks in last 8 weeks?

Goingfor3- good luck witht he stitch, when do you have it again?

x

PBirdy · 05/07/2007 14:06

Hello All

Lilyloo - speak to your line manager for sure. If you are being excluded from things because you are pg it is discrimination. If you are unhappy about what is happening you should say something.

Nicky6 - so funny about convinced you are not pg. I have had a lot of that. Every time I go for a scan I expect them to say, oh no, it was all a dream. Funny.

Sabinar - 1 in 700 is a good result. Be pleased and relax and enjoy. Can't believe how good you are at keeping a secret - I am hopeless I told everyone asap once the scan was done (and some before who I have not admitted to DH yet)

Awen - I think I feel movements too but I wonder if it is in my head. I hope not. I def feel something when I am lying down quietly just before sleep.

Beller - I am with you on the Living2 Baby Zone. Do you watch baby baby? That poor 40 year old woman with twins under 2 and now triplets on the way - unless she gave birth last night I missed it. Time goes very quickly and then all of a sudden I realise I have been watching it for hours. My DH really objects to seeing the home births though. They are quite graphic. I find them really facsinating.

Sarahjct - I would not worry about Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. I have read very different things about the whole peanut thing and unless there is something specific in your family my understanding is that it is not a big deal.

Hope that everyone else is travelling well. I have just joined facebook and when you combine the time I waste on that with the time I waste on this it is a wonder I am still employed!

PBirdy X

beller · 05/07/2007 14:49

pbirdy- she gave birth to them last night!! She also hase a 4/5 year old too!
I cried...I cried alot last night actually...havnt been hormonal at all...but then started missing my mum (died when i was 21), then seeing all the nice husbands/partners looking after them , I felt quite alone again....Feel ok again today though...
(drags self out of selfpity!)

Ill have a lovely bundle of joy soon, then ill never be alone hahaha

beller · 05/07/2007 14:53

Also did you see the other Lady who had twins...she had older daughters? Her boyfirend left her when they were 2 weeks old i think....because he liked his sleep!!! Im sure there was more to it than that...but i think im glad i got all that out of the way before babybel arrives!!

Sarahjct · 05/07/2007 15:07

Beller, my husband's family have asthma, which I suppose amounts to the same thing. And to think I've been so good about peanut kitkats as well!

gingeme · 05/07/2007 15:21

Funny you ladies watching all these baby and birth programmes. I watched all of them with ds3 and again with ds4 put one on the other day and it was the same programme. So the babys must be 3 years old now. Enjoy them ladies.

PBirdy · 05/07/2007 17:45

I know, I could not believe that guy did that esp when they had just had all those lovely photos taken together. That lady was way cool though - she looked like she would cope and still be a fab mum etc.

I can't believe I missed the triplet birth last night.

Sorry to hear about your mum. I understand about feeling emotional. I have been v emotional lately crying at the drop of a hat and taking things personally etc. It is the hormones. You will find someone lovely Beller - whether it is your ex or someone else. I think you are so brave and strong the way you have coped with everything that has happened to you. So you deserve the odd night off to feel miserable if you want to!

Gingeme - that is funny that they recycle all the same births. I must say, I have been wondering who are the women who allow people to come in and video it all. I just could never agree to having a video camera following me around when i was going through all that.

letsgo · 05/07/2007 18:19
